+xGet the A-League back in FA hands and have the club owners focus on actually fixing their own clubs first before they cause more damage. You are right of course. Lowy warned of this. An embarrassing outcome for most on this forum. Too ashamed to reverse their stance and admit that anything is not better than Lowy.

+x+x+x+x+xAuckland over a Tasmanian! Cannot for the life me understand this fixation with Auckland. Tasmania would be a colossal failure. Imagine playing out of monster AFL grounds with only 3k attending. Have you watched WU when they play games in Ballarat and Tasmania? Absolute crickets. TASMANIA WILL NEVER EVER WORK (unless they build their own boutique rectangular stadium) Auckland is an inspired choice. A super derby with Wellington is an intriguing prospect, they could easily get crowds of 30k+ packed into Eden, or sell out Sky stadium. Tasmania wouldn’t even get 3k. Can't agree with you on Auckland but do agree with you on Tasmania. BTW Canberra will never work. Why do you think Canberra will never work? Too spread out, no engagement with locals, everyone pisses off over summer either home or to the south coast where every second person has a holiday home. Canberra is like a hospital. It's somewhere you'd go if you have to but that's about it. The city is more sterile than Singapore and that's saying something. I could be way off but I'm pretty confident they won't get more than 4k to a game once the season has bedded down. The joint is a ghost town. Have a look at how many the Brumbies pull and they're miles more popular than football. Brumbies average around 7500. Not that bad considering Super Rugby is dead and low opportunity of visiting fans. Yes Ex pat Kiwi's would bump it up however not to the extent you probably imagine. I would envisage an A League team would match, but more than likely exceed the Brumbies. Interestingly, and genuinely indicative of the level of support for Football, the Matildas v New Zealand last year drew 13000. I would anticipate regular A League crowds 8 -10K. For the record, I'm in Goulburn, 1 hour away from Canberra, and would go to more games there than Sydney for sure. Lots of Wanderers and Sydney FC supporters in Goulburn too, so I wouldn't be alone.

The FFA maintaining control of topflight, is better than what we have or getting now. This is what both Lowy's wanted. That Stephen was not the best person for that time may be true, however their decision against the money distribution and control to the APL is bonafide. The APL have zero interest in the overall health of the game or promoting it.

I mean at least the FA now is showing that breaking off this dead weight allows them to at least consider "the game".. Seperation of the A-leage from the whole game of football was the best thing to happen in this country so far.....

"Commercially it does not make sense" https://t.co/QWxdh9u7Fh So how many franchises are still up for sale now? Adelaide United Newcastle United Perth Glory Central Coast Imaginary licence #13 (ACT geographic area) Imaginary licence #14 (Auckland geographic area) Did I miss anybody? Does Trashcan expect to find new owners when the price of the next PONZI rung keeps going up? No wonder Ross pulled the plug if the ( mysterious unnamed foreign Adelaide) owners read last weeks APL statement and decided Adelaide license could be valued at 25 million all of a sudden.... Is June still the "sale" date for the new expansions "clubs"? I wonder if that will happen.

Hope there aren't too many billionares lined up to splash the cash or Danny may have trouble picking the right one.

Tho I would put this here as this is in part how to grow the league... and this is some by no means all ... At the Central Coast Mariners, we pride ourselves on being the Community Club. It is an important club value to be out and about around the region, giving back to the community. The Mariners have been busy over the past few months, stopping in at numerous different schools, regions and organisations. Have a read below about some of the things we have been up to and what is planned to come! Camp Breakaway The whole Central Coast Mariners squad travelled out to Camp Breakaway, a non-profit charitable organisation that provides respite care for people with disabilities and their carers. The team were joined by students from Little Coast Kids in Northlakes, San Remo. Together they played games, including variations of tennis and football. It was a brilliant afternoon out in the sun, with everyone enjoying their time together. The Mariners would like to thank Camp Breakaway for hosting the day and can’t wait to return soon for more fun. Read more about the organisation her
e! Mid-Western Regional Council Road TripIn the week leading up to our match against Macarthur in Mudgee, Mariners staff travelled out to the region to host footballing clinics.Visiting Mudgee, Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo, six total clinics took place, teaching skills to aspiring footballers in these small country towns. We also visited two schools, Lue Public School and St Matthews Catholic School. The Mariners staff had a great time exploring the beautiful Mid-Western region and thank everyone for participating in the clinics. Holy Cross Catholic School Kincumber Moresche and Brian Kaltak recently took a trip to visit students from Holy Cross Catholic School in Kincumber. The duo spoke to students about their experience as professional footballers, before taking on the youngsters in a game of indoor football. Both Moresche and Brian signed items for students, posing for photos and giving numerous high-fives! Thank you to Holy Cross Kincumber for having us, it was a brilliant day for all. Coming Up SoonThe Central Coast Mariners, in partnership with Star 104.5, are going to be out in Central Coast schools next week. We are exciting to be visiting nine schools across 5 days, with the full list below. These schools will include Woodport Public, Empire Bay, Berkely Vale, Woy Woy South, Blue Haven, Point Clare, Kariong, Bateau Bay and Wamberal. Many of these schools will also be participating in the upcoming Mariners Mufti Day, where schools can use the opportunity to raise funds for important projects. Our next match day, which will take place on April 1 st, will see the Mariners partnering with Ronald McDonald House to raise awareness for the great work that they do at Gosford Hospital. In partnership with the University of Newcastle and Central Coast Sports College, Our Paradise will be turning mathematical for a day of April 4 th with the Maths with Mariners program. The initiative aims to help teens who are having difficulty with maths by providing physical activity which integrates maths to provide greater understanding.10 schools will be taking part, with Mariners players attending through the day

IMO the biggest connection that has had significance influence is we have 24 clubs in the CC Association ... any coach of any team in the CC Association can attend the Mariners training ... and watch and learn how to conduct training and talk to Mariner coaches .... the skill level and general Football knowledge on the Coast has risen considerably because of this .... like I mean be on the field and hear whats said and how to set up drills etc...

If the APL can't entice an investor to stump up 25 million for a license in Canberra or Auckland in the next 2 months then you may very well be right.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xNo wonder the Adelaide deal got stuck. Are the mystery chinamen after $25m ? Property developer Ross Pelligra has pulled out of his long-awaited takeover of Adelaide United. All are up for sale. It just depends on price, Yeah but did APL's "valuation" of 25 mill drive up the price or just scare away possible investors? Scare away tin pot clubs to get involved in top flight. Lowy initially set the bar at $5 mill and the tin potters could scrounge the dosh then and now is at $25 mill? Fair enough.... How many "gold standard" investors are lining up to throw their money into the ring??? Now the "tin-pot" clubs are no longer even remotely in the picture your eugenic utopia of professionalism should thrive........ Hope there aren't too many billionares lined up to splash the cash or Danny may have trouble picking the right one. I hope we can do away with sugar daddies but there are 2 AL clubs starting up in 1 years time and a further 2 the year after that. No shortage. Oh, so have new owners been announced or is this another one of your "informed opinions"? All I can relay is that there are plans by the FA and PFA. May not eventuate for a while, like the false starts of the NST, but it is planned............"with or without the...........". Oh, I thought Danny Trashcan was confident the ownership would be sorted out by June so that it could be announced before the NST clubs????? He better shuffling.

Pelligra offered a fair price at the time when the "anonymous Dutchman" was looking to sell and the re-evaluation of license value to 25 mill by Danny Trashcan threw a spanner in the works of negotiations... Saying there was never any intention to sell after a sale falls through smells fishy to me. Good luck with his new found "passion" for the club, I hope for your sake they throw some money towards the football department

Just a series of Dorothy Dixers, as you would expect. Great to now know that the club was never for sale because he says so despite the last 15 months of evidence that it was

Not sure Ch 10 or other media outlets have. AUFC Pty Ltd is wholly owned by Australian Football Opportunities Pty Ltd, regd in SA in Feb 2018. Its sole director is Petrus Franciscus Van Der Pol. In turn, AFO Pty Ltd is wholly owned by... are shareholders of GFO. Mr Van der Pol, said to have "moved on", remains sole director of AUFC and of AFO, but if he has resigned, this may not yet be reflected on ASIC records. So, the Aust public record shows AFO as the sole owner of AUFC, a shareholder of APL. It also shows.. want to ask them now Mr Adriaanse has gone on the record. Any journalists interested may want to do some journalism and find that out and maybe also in what capacity they hold any interest. On trust? Directly? But as far as I can tell, this is the extent of the record here. GFO as the sole owner of AFO. It doesn't disclose the o'ship of GFO, which is to be found on the HK register. So it isn't true that Messrs Adriaanse, Van Eck and Lidong are AUFC shareholders. AFO is AUFC sole shareholder. I don't know if these 3 men are owners of GFO. Someone may want to ask them now Mr Adriaanse has gone on the record. Any journalists interested may want to do some journalism and find that out and maybe also in what capacity they hold any interest. On trust? Directly? But as far as I can tell, this is the extent of the record here. Just putting this out there.

You guys need other hobbies.
I doubt 99% of the 10,000 people there tomorrow night give a shit.
I am so glad soccer was only ever one of my passions in life and honestly being on this forum has reduced my love for the game at least 10-15%.
Catch you miserable pricks later
