I feel that's what Arnold planned for Asian cup. Wait until the bigger games. South Korea game was really good in hindsight and it sucked to lose given the chances.

England controlling the game to an extend. These outside boot passes off the ground are annoying. They've got to play it firmer.

Yeah tournament football

Brings criticism but can be effective

Lots of energy in englands press, more so than last time and they are a bit less conservative with both foden and bellingham turning with their first touch and attacking regardless of their body position

Perhaps southgate has been holding them back for the bigger games

England a bit on top. Got an extraordinarily generous pen but also hit the post once and cleared off the line. The dutch hit the post once too mind u

Foden has been glued to the rhs and bellingham to the lhs the last two games, maybe crossing sides once the whole half. They are also playing less conservative. Really made a difference

Best thing about this tournament has been this Yamal kid and his Turkish counterpart Guler (sp?). So much fun to watch.

100% this... I really liked Ange's quote when talking about youth in the England squad. "Sometimes these kids are banging down the door... you gotta let them play"

The right team won today. Best team so far and the better team in that game.

If England jag a finals spot I hope Spain thump them 5 donut.

What a finish from Yamal... whats funny is Mbappe is known for that cut inside curling shot and Lamine made it look like it was easy for him.

Might be a big call but Spain could dominate the next few tournaments with this squad. They are also missing Gavi, Zaragoza and Fati this tourney.... pretty incredible.

They are a beautiful team to watch  LFC, by far the best in this Tournament.
The composure, the skill of Yamal's goal in such a pressure situation just mind boggling.
I'm cheering on England, you know they say happy wife happy life. Though I think Spain will tear them to pieces if they get to final.

I think Spain would rather face Netherlands to be honest Robbo... English will press to hard in midfield and make things uncomfortable..  I agree though that they are, so far, the deserved winners.

I think it will be Spain v England final with Spain pinching it at the death 2-1......

Yamine Lamal what an incredible talent and he's only 16 too!

To think La Masia has produced some of the best players in the world which includes Lionel Messi shows what incredible football school they have, the best national curriculum in the world haha.

Spain looking very good, they controlled the game with and without the ball very well and France who scored earlier on had no answer to Spain's comeback.

yes robbos happy wife happy life, I'd LOL if they did the improbable finally get it home and you've have to suck it up hehe......
yer Barca Yamal is actually showing up Messi re NT, 16yrs whereas LM debuted 18.
Messi first Barca debut 17yrs.
Incredible stuff Yamal, that cutting back inside from the right and left foot outside inside bsll movement strike does it remind you of who ? Messi and Salah.
Left footers have incredible ability to spin and turn a ball that many right footers don't have.

Yep that Factory doesn't stop - may have had a slight "lull" after the last greats retired but its brought some more again.
Nico Williams another bright one, Pedri.
As the commentry was quoting, Yamal were looking at another 10+yrs barring injuries.

Good Spanish win - they are so good to watch on the ball and movement, their vision and patience is brilliant, the one touch, composure.
How’s the kids goal.
That was a pretty strong French team near on full strength I think.
They lack a striker imo.
Halfway there hoping for that VVD finale.

A German referee once criticised over his match-fixing past by Jude Bellingham will officiate England's European Championship semi-final against the Netherlands on Wednesday.

Felix Zwayer, 43, will lead an all-German refereeing team.

In 2021, when Bellingham played for Borussia Dortmund, the England midfielder was fined 40,000 euros (£34,000) for referencing the official's previous ban for match fixing.

Zwayer was given a six-month ban in 2005 after he was investigated for taking a £250 bribe from official Robert Hoyzer.

Hoyzer was subsequently given a ban for life from football.

Bellingham's comments came after Dortmund lost 3-2 to Bayern Munich.

During the game, the referee did not give Dortmund a penalty but did award a spot-kick to their opponents.

Bellingham, who was 18 at the time, told streaming service Viaplay: "You give a referee that has match fixed before the biggest game in Germany. What do you expect?"

I'm astounded. How does a referee who has been found guilty of accepting a bribe get to referee at the professional level, let alone take charge of a Euro semi-final?

I don't think there will be any peak - maybe many are expecting a EPL type of attacking game and counters more than what's been delivered to date.
Their game is getting over the finish line and not 1 convincing win.
Uncanny England stats are
Grp stage
2 GF 1 GA
R16 on
2 GF 1 GA
Whereas Netherlands is
Grp stage
4 GF 4 GA
R16 on
3 GF 2 GA

The Oranje know what to expect regardless of the English form many knowing the players they face, will just come down to the chances if/when and who takes em.
Is this the game Kane gets better service and converts 2 for eg ?
Fascinating contest - 3Lions have the advantage of a better bench imo, may come down to the 65min on.

So far the Probability %'s are :
30% Oranje 33% ET 37% England

I think this will be a really dour match mate.... both will play very very conservatively... hope Im wrong.

Bit of a whinge about Optus here.

When you click on full match replay for the euros you can immediately tell that the match is going to extra time and penalties by what end time is on the screen. Just have 4.00hrs at the end and if you have to show a blank screen that's better than knowing that the game goes over time.

Yeah valid point. Even watching the 25 mini match, if it jumps to the 35th minute of the first half whithin seconds you know its gone to penos.... :(

Dutch having no idea what they're going to face on the day is delicious
