Newcastle played Brentford away so it seems they managed to get out of Heathrow Sunday night. It's such a short turnaround.

Garang pretty much announced himself when they played Barca - then went on to sign the big contract and make the WC squad. Hopefully some of young guys can put their names up in lights on Friday.

+xNewcastle played Brentford away so it seems they managed to get out of Heathrow Sunday night. It's such a short turnaround. same applied for Spurs. Grazor the anti fun brigade is normally from the AL devotees - we euro admirers enjoy and glad known large Clubs put us on their offseason agenda. Hope the Toon play quite a few of their start up players but I expect a number of fringe and Jnrs as normal. Here's info on the 2 touring Clubs https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-05-21/premier-league-post-season-australia-trip-slammed-alan-shearer/103872212Should be a enjoyable eve of football, good for our local lads having the honour and test despite quite a few missing from the Toon.

Is there a reason why the aleague mens all stars match with Newcastle United kicks off at 5pm? The women’s one is on 7.30pm against Arsenal.

I guess they're giving top billing to the Matildas, which is fair enough.

What's the point of this match with Newcastle fielding such a weak side

This reminds me of when Brazil played the Socceroos in the late 90s/early 2000s they promised the fans the stars such as Ronaldo, Rivaldo etc instead we got their B team whom mostly were unknowns.

At the MCG, they ended up refunding that game and making it free entry. Was a great night! I assume Arsenal will field a full strength team in the womens game. Thats what 90% of the crowd will be there for anyway.
