They have both produced some big players in the last 2 years. NSW State League has produced Glavas, Carle, Beauchamp and the Foxtel Cup has had Vargas and other Victory players from the last 2 seasons. I reckon it would be hard to split as Victoria has Souths, Knights & Preston which is matched by NSW's Marconi, Olympic, Sydney United & Wollongong

Take off the navy blue and white glasses. NSWPL is easily the better product. Over 50% of organised football in this country is played in NSW.

i dont know much about VPL but why dont you just look at the players playing in the league...im pretty sure NSWPL has alot more established -exNSL players eg
Troy Halpin Ante Juric Todd Brodie Chi chi Mendez Anthony Doumanis Leo Carle Franco Parisi Vuko Tomsevic Tony Faria Ben Blake Peter Zorbas Joe Vrkic Daniel Severino Tallan Martin Luke Casserly Ante Deur Joey Schrippa Shane Webb Peter Markovic Brad Groves Jonti Richter David Huxley Paul Kohler George Souris Peter Tsekenis
thats a pretty impressive list of players...that list doesnt even include the youngsters coming through either...
can VPL boste that many players who have extensive national league experience

Well, the VPL is widely seen as the strongest state league in Australia, notice that firstly it not officially called the VPL anymore, it is now the 'Foxtel Cup' and besides the AIS have joined the 'Foxtel Cup' this season because it is the strongest lstate comptition in the country. Also someone on the TWG team stated that the VPL is the strongest state league in the country... Need I say more?

How is the VPL the strongest when 75% of footballers come from NSW, and barely anyone in VIC plays football.

VPL has these ex NSL players playing their league...
Henry Fa'arodo Steve Iosifidis Joe Spiteri Michael Turnbull Marcus Stergiopoulos Steve Laurie Esala Masi Anton Kovacic Sam Poutakidis Bill Damianos Pablo Cardozo Michael Panopoulos Carl Recchia David Pilic Con Anthopoulos Martin John Colin Azzopardi Anthony Magnacca Jonas Salley Vasko Trpcevski Lou Acevski Issy Erdogan Lorenz Kindtner Steven O'dor Ricky Diaco Dino Djulbic Rama Tavsancioglu Frenando Demoraes Tansel Baser Con Blatsis Zia Younan Vlad Zoric Kristian Rees Adam Van Domelle Goran Talevski Dragi Nastevski Andy Vargas Bojo Jevdjevic Levent Osman Daniel Vasilevski Bill Celeski Michael Curcija Robert Liparoti Andrew Vlahos Nick Sabljak Alex Kiratzoglou
Now this list is obviously of a higher standard than the NSW league and doesnt include up and coming players from respective clubs or add in the AIS who are all the best under20 players going around in the country...

Would be close. I think they are on about the same level though. They both need improvements to help football in this country.

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,21828928-2883,00.htmlNew signings in Foxtel CupJune 01, 2007 12:00am IT WILL be football's version of New Faces across the Foxtel Cup this weekend as the closing of the May transfer window provided a flurry of signings around the Victorian Premier League. Former Sydney and Perth Glory utility Luka Glavas will suit up for Heidelberg against Western Suburbs. Ex-Adelaide United pair Adam van Dommelle and Kristian Rees have linked with South Melbourne and Whittlesea Zebras respectively. A loan deal has also brought Melbourne Victory's young goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak to South Melbourne. Langerak will have the opportunity to start this week, away to Kingston City. A fill-in captain with Victory in season one, Mark Byrnes has found himself at home with Richmond while exciting young striker Paul Giannou has joined Oakleigh Cannons for their battle with Springvale tonight. The Cannons have also renewed the lapsed contract of Con Boutsianis, who retired last season. Need I say more??? :-k :-s :-k :-s :-k :-s :-k :-s :-k :-s
