Quote:Lavicka made an audacious attempt to lure his Czech compatriot, former European Footballer of the Year Pavel Nedved, for a guest stint after Nedved quit Italian powerhouse Juventus at the end of last season. But Nedved made clear his retirement was to spend more time with his family and declined Sydney's offer. Guest players are not permitted beyond round 23 or in the finals, and with the maximum of nine games allowed the window for bringing a player in is shrinking fast. It's believed that Sydney are budgeting around $300,000 for a stint of up to nine games. http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,26265220-5000940,00.html In case people missed it.

He is star quality and while he might not be as well known to anglos as Mr Fowler is, he is no less a star and one Europe's best players, over this past decade. Agreed, it would still boost crowds for Sydney, which is a plus.

Former Czech international and Juventus star Pavel Nedved is looking at having a 3 match stint with Sydney FC next year according to sources within the club. Nedved, who recently retired, has been approached by Sydney FC management and is considering coming to the club in the weeks just before the Finals Series. This would be a great way for Nedved to earn some big money in a short space of time, and could well become a reality.
