It's a tough one, you don't want to be too forward but you don't want them to not be aware of your interest. Tbh I think if she's going to be interested in you, it wont make a difference if you are super forward and stuff. You have to try and speak without words in that sense, if you know what I mean.
Every situation is different though.. hopefully you've got some friends who know you/her a little so they can help you with some advice, as it's nigh on impossible for you to be completely objective about it.

Tbh, if you're occasionally a bit forward with her and she shuts you down, that's fine. You know to move along and the only thing that gets hurt is a little bit of pride. It's better than being withdrawn and another guy moving in on her because she 'thought you just wanted to be friends'. But that said, be SURE it's what you want. My experience is NEVER, EVER screw the crew. So if you're going to pursue someone from work you probably want to keep it on the down low anyway.

You shoot down people for bagging out teams using 'defensive' football all the time and when someone challenges your assertion you continue to plod along, but for this we should shut down the forum on the basis of personal experience? "What the fuck" doesn't quite cover it.

I post a picture which supports my opinion that the 'Friendzone' is bullshit. 2. You say I'm not allowed to have that opinion because I have no experience with said situation. That's where we're at. You weren't challenging my assertion, you were saying I can't have it in the first place. Edited by Funky Munky: 27/6/2012 04:29:58 PM

Personally, I don't really believe in the friend-zone, either she's interested in you or she isn't. If you are friends with her, there's nothing stopping you from becoming more than friends - she might say no but that'll be because she's not interested, not because you're "just a friend". You might as well give it a go.

Having people there to keep you sane and bounce ideas off of is imperative, and stops you from missing things, but more importantly, from seeing things that aren't even there.

Bit harsh to say I'm the first person to always shoot it down, when it's the first time it's been raised on here, but anyway. Edited by Funky Munky: 27/6/2012 05:15:14 PM

It's great to have one guy who you can talk to about relationship stuff. My housemate is awesome for that. But (and not to seem condescending or bigoted or whatever) the best for advice on chicks is a lesbian. I have a lesbian friend who I can go to for anything relationship-y and she's brilliant - she'll tell me when I'm being a dick or reading too much into something or not pushing hard enough and she's right 99.9% of the time.

And the guy just settles for being friends because he wants to have some faux-closeness to her. She'll never like you.

You might as well give it a go. To an extent you're right. But there's a definite 'friend zone' where a girl over-thinks the outcomes of hooking up with you. I've had girls who have said "I want to, but it would be a bad idea for x, y and z reasons"...reasons which all went out the window the second we're drunk and at a party together. The 'friend zone' is there, just not as much as people think because they use it as an explanation for a chick who just isn't interested in them.
