World class is ridiculously easy on FIFA 09, I downloaded an unlocker patch to play Legend difficulty just for a challenge and to my surprise Legend is pretty hard, especially in the away games.

World Class is easy full stop, you just have to have the patience to ass the ball around at the edge of the box and wait for the opening to draw the defender.

That's the point of the game, in FIFA 09 World Class you can literally run through the CB's and get little resistance about half a dozen times a game.

It was never quite taht easy previously. But the defenders wouldn't run at you or anything, and evne if they did, it wasn't with any intensity.

That was another problem I had with Fifa. I'd get to World Class and the challenge wouldn't be there. Another reason why PES is better tbh:p

"PES cheats", thus making it more difficult, thus making it better. I like the logic there:P

Still don't know if PES Cheats or not, but when you play one harder modes, it is harder. The AI is a lot smarter...a lot better. Makes winning against them a lot more challenging, so that when you do actually win, tis quite a great feeling.

I think it comes down to the AI's form as well. Because if you can single out the out of form players you can keep running at them all game. But also the game can change if the AI changes its tactics during the game and in saying that i have lost or drawn many a game on fifa 09 due to a home goal, free kick or penalty. So tbh it isnt that easy i guess its just luck

THe AI in FIFA has always been shite, they've always sacrificed quality of game-play for eye candy. ANd I expect that will forever be the case.

Just got Fifa 09 the other day, haven't really had a chance to give it a good go til earlier today. I think it's 10x as good as 08, which I played up until I bought 09. So I'm pretty stoked, just things like short passing all the way up the field and rounding a defender to get a shot off feel a lot more satisfying.

One thing I noticed straight up though is it is a lot easier than 08. Anyone else find this? I've now got the hang of Professional, it's still satisfyingly even but I haven't lost a game yet in my first season. I could pretty much never win in professional on 08.

I reckon EA intentionally made it easy for all the n00bs out there having a sook about the difficulty and anyone who was good had to unlock Legend. Surely Amateur wasn't that hard for them :roll:

Haha crap man that's crazy. That's what I was like with 07! But I reckon you're right, I think it's also got to do with the fact it's easier to do things and a lot smoother than 08. Like in 08 I don't think I ever got a through pass that didn't go straight to the opposition. Now a heap of my goals are scored from them.

You unlocked legendary? Is it actually challenging for you?

It's very good. I'm not winning every match for a start (maybe because I'm playing as Middlesbrough lol). Away games seem a bit more difficult and when you play against a Man U or Liverpool you actually feel like you're playing them.

i just got smashed 5 - 0 by hull city. Mind you i have a mountain of injuries - Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Nani, Rooney and Berba

Made 07 all too easy...

Last night I was trying to get the "judas" and the 30+ yard goal acheivements, I took liverpool against united, and set up the game so it was 1-0 in the 85th minute, and kept putting the ball out for corners, and the keeper would come up.

The first time I got the ball back, shot it at goal with torres, and it stops on the line :/

Did another corner, and United score :/

ET, same thing. Except Torres hit the post.

Then united scored again. Quite possibly with VDS. No replay for some reason.

Then I lost the penalty shootout.

Were they from overseas? Ive never played as an aleague team but im pretty sure visa players are restricted just as in RL.

When did you sign them? if its out side of a transfer window, you have to wait till the window opens again so that you can register players. Also, did signing them put you over the cap?

HE shouldnt' have had any problems with signign them outside the transfer window (if it was a bosman, if it were a paid transfer it shouldnt' have gone through yet). It shouldnt' have let him sign them if it put him over the salary cap. What I think it is is that the players haven't been assigned a number which he should be able to rectify next game day...if that's not the case, I'd have to see for myself what was going on.

If you select the player in your line-up on game day and click continue, it should take you to a screen that allows you to pick numbers for any players not already assigned numbers.

Take a look around on there. Go the the FM sub-forum and search for registering A-League players. If you can't find anything I'll be suprised.

i'm pretty sure it does let you sign over the salary cap but the players outside teh cap stay unregistered. you can only change who is registered and who isnt during the transfer windows i believe. also if it's over the squad size limit you wont be able to register them.

It used to cancel the transfer if you went over the budget or outside the squad size.
