Nantwich - Premiership 2026/2027 Media Prediction - 15th out of 20th. Actual Position - 8th.
What a great season, having come pretty well close to finalising my best 11, we proceeded to tear up the league for a club of our stature, eventually setting into a great mid-table position of 8th. Unfortunately, this doesn't qualify us for Europa League again, but honestly Europa is more hassle than it's worth.
The big transfers I brought in last year really gelled well. At the start of the season our top class striker was nearly sold to Arsenal, who offered a deal including clauses of about £24m, but he knocked back their contract. He went on to score 15 goals in the league, 4 in the cup and 13 on the continent. The AMC I bought scored 3 goals and 9 assists.
In the various cups: Carling Cup: 1-0 win vs Everton, 1-0 win vs Nottm Forest, 0-1 loss to Blackburn in the Quarter Final.
FA Cup: 3-0 win vs Bristol Rovers, 1-0 win vs Leicester, 2-0 win vs Cardiff, a poor 2-1 loss to Derby in the 6th round.
Europa League qualification: We cruised through the qualifiers, we utterly destroyed teams so badly I could afford to play for fun and let our keeper go forward for attacks, and he scored 4 goals, two each in the 2nd legs of the 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds. He missed out on a hat-trick when he hit the bar on a penalty.
Europa League Group Stage: Qualified 2nd from the group containing Atletico Madrid (home Draw, away Loss), Wolfsburg (home Win and away draw) and Rosenborg (won both).
Europa League KO: First KO Round - 7-1 agg win over SK Rapid Wien (5-1 home, 2-0 away). Second KO Round - 2-5 agg loss vs Fulham (1-1 draw at home, 1-4 loss away, went a player down late after injury after using all subs and had two goals scored after it).
I strengthened the coaching staff, bringing in a half-dozen coaches that aren't good at actual coaching, but are good at motivation, man management and working with you players. This should help improve morale, discipline and motivation from coaching.
The board have upgraded the training facilities. It will cost £3.6m.
They have upgraded our stadium by 1,345 seats. It will cost £1.7m.
Player wise, I need to bring in a CB, and an AMR as my main targets. I have secondary targets of another MC, another ST, and a 3rd choice backup keeper.
Finally, I won English Premier League Manager Of The Year.

That's problematic. It's also become more difficult with the intruduction of agents to push players towards lower pay deals.

Then I started liking them when I realised I could throw a 250k bung at them and get the player to accept better contracts for me. For example. I just got a guy to agree to a contract offer. He wanted: 15% yearly wage rise. 3k app bonus. 500k per year. 3 year deal. I jumped his agents pay to 250k from about 60, and got him to agree to 350k per year 5 year deal 10% wage rise. 2k app bonus. Edited by macktheknife: 9/4/2011 07:52:05 PM

Yeah. Had that happen this season, one of my key players went from 1,200 a week to 3,400 a week.
That said, he was the above AML, so I wasn't about to let him go:p
Decided I'm going to have a go at creating my own training schedules. I do my own Tactics, so it's about time I seriously looked into this part of FM. Anyone else do it?

 So I beat Besiktas 6-1 in the Champions league and Bernd Schuster has this to say. Just  This is a game where first of all I've won 6-1 and had 19 shots on target and he says my players don't like to shoot.

But I often found that it didn't make a significant enough difference to senior players for it to be worth my while. And while it made a bit of a difference with youth players, I often found that with players only being there for a season or two I was spending too long tailoring player training sessions and not enough time on what my opposition was getting up to in the games prior to playing me.

Just a small memorial for a player of mine who just retired. Was the first player I managed to sign who was really a talent for this Bristol side, and without him we'd be much worse off than we are.

I fully expect to have a statue dedicated to me in Paraguay now.
Took over as manager with 2 games left in WC qualifying in 5th place, with the two games against the top two and already qualified Argentina and Uruguay. Penultimate game away against Argentina. Down 2-1 at HT, Cardozo brings it back to 2-2, Tevez makes it 3-2 with 15 to play. Barrios then comes to the rescue in the 85th minute to make it 3-3 before Cardozo grabs his second in the last minute of injury time to make it 4-3 and take a huge step towards qualification.

Just wasted 625k in one match.
Loaned a striker from Liverpool.
First match in pre-season, bring him on as a second half sub.
Breaks his leg. Out for 6 months + at least another month getting back to fitness.
Back to Liverpool you go, no need to waste another 325k on your wages.

So Lukaku last season scores 39 goals in 45 apps in all competitions and 29 in 30 in the league. I left to go to Arsenal and decided to bring him there and he's started where he left off last season with 11 goals in 16 apps in all competitions so far with 8 in 11 in the league. He's got 87 goals in 111 career apps so far.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy just bagged a hattrick for me against a top of the table clash with AZ. Fucking inspired signing, boys and girls. Lukak's been handy with 6 from 8 in the league - giving Suarez a run for his money right now.
England missed out on Euro. A draw with Montenegro saw them finish third to Switzerland and Montenegro. Capello sacked, I figure I can match that performance at least and have applied for the job  B&H, Belgium and Czech Rep also lucked out.
Elsewhere Luuk De Jong has the consistency of form of Jelly and I'd really like to punch him in the face. 8.8 in one game, 5.2 in the next!

I manually set all 19 of my scouts to specific nations, to get around the fucking stupid ass scout bug. Took forever, but I'm actually seeing better results. The first 4 scouts are set to look at the big nations in Southern Europe. The next two take one of Argentina or Brazil, then split the rest of South America. 7 has Aus, NZ, Fiji, Solomons. 8 Mexico, Honduras, Guatemal and Costa Rica. 9 Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania. 10 Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Czech and Poland. 11 Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland. 12 South Korea, China, Japan 13 UK & Ireland 14 Turkey, Greece, Croatia 15 Angola, Cameroon, Congo, DR Congo and Gabon 16 North Africa 17 Russia 18 Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Senegal 19 has Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Iraq (lol at that guys passport, he'll be stuck in prison for a few days everytime he moves to the next country). Depending on how long they take, I'll probably move some of the African countries to the quickest ones. I signed this guy to a 5 year contract just because of his name: Endless amusement. Shame he sucks, I would love to see what the game would have made those pun combined name news items from him. Dick-tacular. Dick-standing. This pre-season took fucking ages. I played a shitload of money spinning friendlies, and had to control who played in them. On the plus side, I re-signed all my best players to new 5 year deals, having waited out until the year flipped over. Needed the friendly cash to pay off all the agents. At first I didn't like agents. But if they are going to put them in, I seem to enjoy throwing cash at the agent to get their players to agree to worse deals than they would without the agent. The scouting shit took forever. I also redid my training, setting up the club to train in accordance with the tactic I use. That took a while to setup all my schedules again. And I still couldn't find an AMR to bring in. I found a very late striker I can loan who I hope will make his WP appeal and I can retrain him over the year. We finished upgrading our facilities, and I got the board to agree to do it again. It's planned for completion at the end of the year. Just fucking build it now you fucking useless board. I got knocked out in the second round against Columbia with Uruguay. Everything seemed to be against us. We went into the game with Martin Caceres out through suspension and Alvaro Peirera out with a broken leg. 10th minute Pereyra breaks his arm, 30th minute in Suarez breaks his arm, 45+1th minute Columbia score a screamer. 46th minute Cabrera bruises his ribs, 54th minute Hernandez breaks his nose and finally 76th minute Fucile tears his hamstring.

Hmm.
I've been tracking this MC for a couple years, he's developed into a wonderkid at Corithians.
But his club have wanted astronomical fees for him £20m to £40m constantly.
Then in this Jan window, a host of clubs, Barca, Milan, Juve, all bid 12.5 mil for him.
I figure, might as well give it a shot. He's got my listed as fav personell since I've been sucking up to him since the first time I scouted him 2 years ago.
I got him :D I think I might have paid over the odds though.
But I did get him on a full term contract + a one-year extension after 20 or so games, without any other stupid shit like highest earner clauses or anything, and a £120 million release clause.
4 million per year though lol.
However, I am hopefully going to sell my 28 year old swedish MC, he's great, but this guy still craps all over him, for 7.5 million over 36 months + 50% profit fee (which will hopefully be converted into a buy out clause).

Nantwich - Premiership 2027/2028 Media Prediction - 14th out of 20th. Actual Position - 6th. I won the FA Cup \o/ This season was even better. After a bit of a stutter start, we the Nantwich machine just kept rolling up the table. The FA Cup! We won! We had a ridiculously easy draw, the first three matches were all Championship teams, then Charlton, Wigan and Everton in the final, after they beat the dominate Man City. I knew once City got Ko'ed that we'd have a big chance, and a simple 1-0 win (Everton didn't get a single shot on target, and out of their 6 shots, 4 were long shots) brought glory to the club. We re-signed all our important players. The mid-season transfer window saw the capture of a wonderkid Brazilian AMC for 12.5 million over the likes of Barca, Milan and Juve, and in tandem with my 25 year old Argentina AMC, they tore up the place. We held down 6th for the last 10 games, qualifying for the Europa League again next season. I sold a 28 year old middling general MC for 7.5 million to help cover the costs. Finally, I won English Premier League Manager Of The Year for the second year running. Season League League Finish Other Notes

Just won the league with Arsenal as well as the League Cup and an FA Cup Semi Final, and about to play the final of the Champions League. Got lucky in the FA Cup, didn't have an EPL team until we got Liverpool in the semi where I lost to a Suarez header in the last 15 seconds of injury time. Another fucking ridiclous season from Lukaku.
