Just had the owner accept a transfer offer for my best defender because "it was too good to refuse". $900k upfront, with $2.1mil coming in over 24 months... Not happy...

So beat Juve 2-0 thanks to two first half goals from Falcao and El Shaarawy. That meant all I had to do was match Juve's results in the final two games. In the end did it a lot easier than I thought. Beat Napoli 3-0 and Parma 4-0 to complete a remarkable 2nd half of the season. From the beginning of March I had 11 wins and just 1 draw. Compare that to Juve who had just 7 wins in that same period with 4 draws and 2 losses allowing me bridge the 10 pt gap and claim the title.
Star of the season by some distance was Fernando Llorente with 37 goals in just 32 league games as well as 9 assists. El Shaarawy an honorable mention with 17 goals in 29 games to go with 6 assists. Montolivo also excellent with 14 assists in 16 games, just unfortunate that he missed the whole back end of the season.

Completed the domestic double with a 3-0 win in the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta thanks to a Llorente hat-trick. Now have the WC with Argentina minus Messi who's injured. Got a group with Iceland, Romania and Honduras. Should get through fairly comfortably.

I'm so over my luck in the cup draws. Last season it was United, Arsenal, City and Chelsea in the FA Cup. This year it's Arsenal, Tottenham, Sunderland and Chelsea.

The U20 Copa Libertadores is a strange one. They have 3 host nation sides, 1 team from each of the 9 CONMEBOL member nations and then 2 invitee sides.

Champions league draw is a shit sometimes. Quarter Final, I drew Arsenal...the same week I play Arsenal in the league. I win through and meet Manchester United...the same week I play United in the league. WTF? Triple headers for both.
And on top of that the other side of the draw is Barcelona v Real Madrid.

Should wrap up back to back promotion soon with Crewe Alexandria (npower 1). FM13 has been extremely kind to me to be honest, no major injuries and with some decent tactics they play pretty good football in the championship. Loans and free transfers are great for small clubs. The maximum wage I can offer is AUD $9,500 p/w and the board won't improve it...
So might be difficult to retain/attain talent for next season, expecting to struggle to avoid the drop in the premier league.

You'll see the wage go up at the start of the season in preparation.

That sounds promising
Will be a premier league team with a 10k capacity stadium, the ability to scout players only in Europe, no first team only coaches and paying scouts and coaches barely $1,500 p/w

Even with 9.5k/week you should be able to pick up a couple of decent south americans and some eastern european players to help you avoid the drop.
I'd be mostly concerned about the stadium capacity.

Anyone have a way of getting the best out of Wellington Nem? He is rating around the 7.10 mark after 24 games, but i know he can be better. Have him playing as a Trequartista at CAM.
Update on the save, had a lean few months, currently 14th after being as high as 9th. Lost 4 players to the African Cup of Nations. Currently 2 days left in the Jan transfer window, im trying to deepen my squad depth, had 5m to spend, but used most of that to increase the wage budget.
Got a LB from PSG called Siaka Tiene on loan as backup for Figueroa, and using about 400k to get Shaun Wright Phillips as i dont actually have a right midfielder. Also wanted James Milner on loan since he wants to leave City, he was keen but City pulled out the "Needed for first team" despite only having played 1 game for the senior team all season.

I played Nem as an Advanced Playmaker (Attack) with Swansea and he was brilliant.

I use him on the right wing and he's averaged 7.33 from 155 games - 34 goals and 63 assists in that time. If you're using him centrally, either Attacking Mid (attack) or Advanced Playmaker (attack) is the way to go.

I haven't had FM since 10 so on a whim downloaded 13 last night, (first time I've downloaded a game so took a bit of working out), but it has a nasty habit of crashing randomly, anyone know much about how to/where to find a decent crack fix? I've done a bit of a search thus far and every link comes with one of those bullshit surveys. Some help would be appreciated thanks guys.
Also any recommendations for reasonable priced yet good CB's for a Manchester United save? I've already signed Kroos to help my midfield out but wouldn't mind signing a quality back up/challenger for Ferdinand, I should have at least 7 mil to play with.

Good fix for FM 13 is playing FM12 instead.
In my news, I've finally been forced for the first time to offer a new contract to a player who wanted one. My AMR just would not shut the fuck up about, literally ever 2 weeks he's been complaining, and then the conversation would bug out and make me wait another day to finish it, paying him £2 million more per year now (from 650k) just to shut the fucker up.
My young striker (the guy I paid £25 million for) just won Golden Ball and World Player Of the Year. He's worth £35 million now.
Hmm, looks like a takeover could happen any moment.

Good CB, I waited until jan to sign Bocchetti on a free transfer. If you can get your 'Arry Redknapp on, you can get Otamendi for about 12m.

Best statistics in a season for a striker?
I had AJ Leitch-Smith score 44 goals form 43 games in the n-power 1 league, including a 5 goal haul one match. Ended up with an average rating of 7.50 and I sold him for $1.5m to Middlesbrough at the end of season when I got promotion. Board and fans labelled it an 'aberration' and were angry about it for almost an entire year, but his player stats are poor, no idea how he had such a good season.

I had a striker in FM12 who scored 52 goals in 38 games for an average rating of 8.32 in his second season starting for me (aged 20). Signed him for 2.7m from Monaco and at the end of that season he was worth 42.5m.

Edited by jparraga: 1/2/2013 12:37:53 AM Yeah. His name was Diego Calvez. I had some superb regens in FM12. He followed that season up by scoring 44 from 37 and 41 from 38. By the time I stopped playing FM12 he had as many goals as games in his career tally. He was absolutely magnificent. 18 first touch, 19 finishing, 19 strength, 17 anticipation and positioning, 20 composure. And 6'2" to boot. Easily the most lethal striker I've ever coached.

jparraga wrote:Best statistics in a season for a striker? Hmm, I had one of the best strikers in the game for 13 years. Let's have a look at his stats: 2028-29 - 33 from 30+1 sub in the league, 45 from 47+2 subs in all competitive club matches. 2031-32 - 22 from 25+2 subs in the league (injured perhaps), 45 from 41+4 subs in all competitive club matches. 2032-33 - 35 from 35 in the league, 54 from 54 in all competitive club matches. 12 assists and 13 man of the match in all competitive club matches. I had an AMR who in 2031-32 scored 17 from 30 in the league, 32 from 49+1 sub in all competitive club matches. Had 36 assists and 18 man of the match awards in all competitive club matches that season. So in 2031-32 those two combined for 77 goals, 42 assists and 24 man of the match awards in that season in all competitive club matches. :o

So the consortium has started the takeover bid.
And said they'll name Phil Jones as manager.
Yes. Myself, who has a 60% win ratio, a goal difference of +1,561 and has won 22 Cups, 8 league wins, 52 personal awards is (supposedly) going to be replaced by a guy who has a 35% win ratio, a -84 goal difference, and 0 league, cup or personal awards.
LOL. The consortium has done a Mariners. Takeover collapses, no evidence of their finances, their leader hadn't said he had sufficient funds to perform the takeover.

macktheknife wrote:Well shit, I definitely should have sold that AML.
1st league game, does his ACL. Out 8 months. He'll be worthless by the time he comes back. He came back. All his stats dropped by at least two, 3 or 4 in some cases, and his CA star rating has dropped down to 1.5 stars. Gonna try selling him while he's still worth something. No takers though. Throws in are more dangerous for my team than the opposition when I have them. Just conceded an away goal to Valencia in the first leg of our Quarter Final from one of them, my DR, who was right up in the penalty box, lost possession and we got hit on the break. Until that point they'd had 2 shots all game after 60 minutes. ](*,) Still won 3-1. Which is okay. Roma just knocked Madrid right the fuck out of the CL Semi-Finals. Edited by macktheknife: 1/2/2013 02:58:51 PM

Look like I'm going to drop the title after being well clear of Arsenal. We've had three draws and a win in our last 4 games, one of those draws was Arsenal when we dominated them but couldn't finish, and we've just drawn 1-1 with mid-table Southampton after they had a man sent off while 1-0 down. And to make it worse, 94th minute, my striker gets hurt, taken off, out for 3 weeks, missing our FA Cup final, last 2 Premier League matches and the CL Final.
Lost FA Cup final. 1-0.
60% possession to 40% in our favour.
Yet Arsenal had 22 shots to 4. Sense, it made none. They also kicked our right winger off the park after we'd made three subs. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Jean Guerin (DC/DM), 17. 1.6m from PSG currently worth 11m Everton (AMC/ST), 18. 675k from Gremio. Worth 3.3m Ollie Kirby (DM/AMC), 18. 4.2m from Barnet. Worth 40.5m Renato (AMC), 18. 450k from Academica. Worth 4.3m Vasco Santos (DR/L), 19. 3m from Belenenses. Worth 19.5m John Dunphy (ST AMR/L), 19. 11m from Man Utd. Worth 14.5m Hector Camacho (AMR), 19. 1m from Marbella. Worth 19.5m
