Comes down to the final day. We play 3rd placed City. Arsenal play relegated Fulham. I'm a point ahead.
I've got a regen named Ian Dunphy just come through my academy. 2.5 star ST.
Scraped a 1-0 win as Arsenal thrashed Fulham 4-0. Had my left back sent off with 15 minutes to go, parked the bus and we won.
Ironically though, their keeper won Motm, with a 9.2 rating. Had 21 shots, 13 on target, vs 18 and 4 on target for city.
I've now entered the World-Wide hall of fame, in 18th, being Lippi, Hitzfeld. Need to double my major trophies to get closer to first.
I really wish your players morale in case of injury would only drop if you decide NOT to give them injections. CL Final, few days before my AMC hurts himself, I give him injections, morale drops to abysmal because he's going to 'miss the final'. No. ](*,)
Jesus fucking christ. 18 minutes in, 0 shots to 7. FFS.
32 fucking minutes before our first shot. Unbelievable.
After passing it around the back four, our keeper picks up the ball. He dribbles, and dribbles and dribbles, from the goal line to the edge of the area. Then boots it straight into their striker.
0-1.
Fuck it. I'm giving up. Subbed the keeper off, made two other changes, making it an all out attack. Don't care anymore. This is a joke. Had 1 shot in half the game.
Ridiculous. Lost 1-0. Had 3 shots all game.

Division English Premier Division (16th season) Season 2039/2040 Finish 1st The loss of my star striker really hurt our last handful of games of the season and in my opinion cost us at least one title. We retained the league, not straying more than 1st or 2nd for most of the year, with only a solitary week in 3rd. Our last few games were dire after losing my young English hero, could barely find the net and we had draw after draw. We scraped a 1-0 win against Manchester City in the final game, down to 10 men for 15 minutes at the end to secure the title over Arsenal by a point. The League Cup was an even worse failure than last season, we put out a second string team due to severe fixture pile-up (we played Chelsea two days earlier in the league) and went out in a dire penalty shootout, losing 4-1 after 1-1 after extra time, even with a man advantage due to an injury in the 105th minute to Sunderland. The FA Cup was the first of our trophies to evaporate due to losing my main striker. After beating Tottenham 3-0, Man City 3-1, Southampton 5-2 in a replay after a 1-1, Huddersfield 3-0 in a replay after a 1-1, then Wycombe 6-0 in the Semi-Final, we produced what is unquestionably the worst performance in the history of the club. We played Arsenal and despite having more than 60% possession for the entire game, had absolutely nothing to show for it, we kept getting hit on the counter and the end result was losing 1-0 from a 28th minute counter. Our keeper still won man of the match. Stats? We had 4 shots, 3 on target, none before the 30th minute, they had 22 shots with 11 on target. I still have no idea how this match was allowed to happen, it ran counter to everything my team is built around. CL Group stage was Zenit, Bordeaux and Feyenood, winning all 6 games. Our run was very easy, 2-1 against Atletico in the 1st KO Stage, 6-2 vs Valencia in the Quarters, 4-0 against Spartak Moscow in the sem-final, and it seemed like this would be my year when Roma despatched Real Madrid in the other semi. So of course the final came around, minus my star player, and we put on something close to but not quite as bad a performance as we put on in the FA Cup final. They scored in the 34th minute when my keeper smashed a clearance at their striker, and we managed only 2 shots on target and only 4 in total. Utter disgrace. Financially we are very comfortable, the Chairman took out £7 million in dividends and we've got £36 million in the bank after paying for a re-upgrade to our training and youth facilities at £2 million or so each, in January I sold the 2nd choice keeper who I bought on a free to Barcelona for £23.5 (he is one of the best keepers in the world, but he couldn't settle after multiple attempts). I've bought in a left winger, as a replacement for my previous 1st choice, who suffered an ACL injury and came back as the worst player in the club's first team squad, dropping between 2 and 4 points across the entire attribute list. Worst of all, no-one will buy him, even for free. So I'll be wasting £5.5 million a season on him for another 3 seasons. I might be looking for a striker, or perhaps a midfielder. A board takeover was attempted but collapsed and nothing further has come through since then. Does your game slow down significantly with that many years? I got Gloucester from BSN to championship by 2024 but the game had slowed down so much I lost interest and gave up.

Yeah how are you getting through the seasons like that? Played FM12 through 6 months of uni lectures and some holidays for about only 6-7 seasons
Had FM13 for about a month of holidays and played 2 seasons

I'm just used to play the game fast.
I have a pretty beast PC, I haven't noticed any major slow downs, I've added leagues since I completed the challenge as well, no real difference I could tell, except for a handful of times in a season you get a huge pileup of fixtures across the continent.
3 competitive games into the new season and I've already lost my star striker for a month and a half, my right back for a month, my loan AMR for 2 weeks on international duty and my 3rd choice DM for 2 weeks. ](*,)

Start of this season has been an unmitigated disaster. We're in 13th after 6 games. Have been utterly dreadful since the opening day of the season.
Edit - Looks like we've picked ourselves back up, have tweaked the tactics a little to promote more incisiveness and movement and we're up to 6th from 8 games. We have 1 game in hand on most of the competition though but it's still better than floating above the relegation zone.

Just had a really fucking annoying loss to Arsenal. Scored first. 14th minute.
They score 2 in 5 minutes, 22nd and 27th. 2-1. I sub off my left winger, the sub comes on a scores minutes later. 2-2.
Then before half-time I score to take a 3-2 lead into half-time.
So of course they come back and score twice more in the 74th and 80th minutes to win the game. Instead of winning and being second and 8 points behind Arsenal (who have won 11 in a row now), I'm 6th and 14 points behind and Arsenal have pretty much ended the title race already. They are 13 points clear of Southampton and Huddersfield in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Finally got my keeper a penalty to take, changed the tactics to put him #1 taker (3-0 vs Wycombe) only minutes before the penalty. Nailed it. 4-0.
Edit - got a bit of a dilemma. One of my starting CB's has turned 30 and he's starting to wane. He's coming to the end of his contract.
He's still got a 3.5 CA, the best of the CB's right now but is going to get worse. My 4th choice is a mere backup, a youth product who I'll keep on for a while simply to have as a backup. My 3rd choice should be ready to slot in, but after 2 seasons he's regressed to a 2.5CA and just isn't that good. Spent £15.25 on the guy as well. What a waste of money.
The big issue is there isn't a lot of good defenders who can pass well, which is the core of my tactics.
Perhaps I'll need to reduce my passing desire down to a 13 or so, and get a young kid that I'm certain will develop into a top flight star.
The other choice is just forget about the passing, trusting that the short and simple passing will allow even a low level defender to get the job done, and shore up my defence with a destroyer.
Inter are interested in my CB though, maybe I can turn a profit on this.

Hmm. They offered £9 million. I'll accept. See what I can do.

I'm considering signing a 26 year old. That's about 8 years older than I normally sign a player at.
He's just turned 27. Fuck that. Might end up needing a new player in 2 years anyway.
Old guy leaving for £9 million. Inter I think. Hunt for replacement is on. Will not make a profit on it.

Trying to find an attacking midfielder to replace Gerrard. There's no regens showing any real promise in AM so I'm looking at Thiago or Wilshere whoa re both 24 going on 25 which is 2-3 years older than my usual max age and about 6 years older than my preferred so they can acquire HG status.

I had a £26.5 million offer accepted for a 21 year old, but his attributes aren't that great, and I don't want to spend that much on a player who only has half a star of potential left to fulfil. I'll keep looking but I'm not hopeful. I might just let it go and try and find a player at the start of next season.
Might train one of my non-starting defenders to play CB. That worked really well with one of my DM's previously. :-k
My current 2nd choice DR is actually got natural CB as well. He'll be a decent stop-gap considering he's one of the best pure defenders in the team and can pass (I don't want to change the lineup that is currently winning many games so he's stayed on the outer). He has shit jumping though. Only 11. I just have to hope he doesn't get into too many aerial duels.
WTF! I just lost one of my coaches after he signed only the day after they approached him. I didn't even get to see the news item. Luckily it was only my 'man manager', I got 160k for him though. Got a replacement for much cheaper. \:d/
Without fucking fail. The first time in ages I use my 3rd sub early, I have a player taken off hurt, attempting a sprint at 2-0 up in the 91st minute of only 2 minutes injury time. My right back. Luckily it is one of my most competitive positions. Still annoying as fuck.

Got the new stadium approved \o/
Last night before I quit, I'd saved and thought on a whim to check the boardroom option, as the last one was built in 2021. I'd figured it might have to wait until the 2041-42 season, but no, it was available.
And I asked the board.
They said no. Apparently they don't think our supporter base will grow enough... er... okay.. so I gave them the ole "after I'll I've done raising the profile of the club" and they accepted.

Named after me. \:d/
61,000 Capacity \:d/ With a roof and undersoil heating.
Will cost £285m over 30 years (this is inclusive of interest, the build cost is £199m), but for the first 15 years a stadium sponsorship will net us £109, so the 'real cost' to me is £2.23m per year.

It's going to take two and a half season to build though. ](*,)

It gets a bit hard to be successful and select a team in the a-league during international windows when junior internationals are at the same time. 27 of 36 players at the club got called up for international duty.

Especially when the board decide to expand to X amount and then change their mind and make it Y amount. I fucking hate the European Championships. 6 group games, 6 groups...36 matches...and you only knock out 6 teams? What a waste of time.
