afromanGT wrote:inb4 mack rages as Arsenal win their next match 4-0  I'll keep you updated. After our start I'd probably be happy with just the Top 3. Edit - They won their next match 4-0. But we won our next match 3-0, they drew 2-2. So we're equal on points, on goal difference, and I'm ahead on goals scored \:d/ League Cup final, vs United, getting dominated for no apparent reason. Sigh. Got back into the game by going to my all out attack, but couldn't convert any chances. What a shit performance. Fined my captain two weeks wages. My keeper now has another league goal. \:d/ We're in the process of thrashing Sunderland 6-1. Why didn't we play like that against United? And now we play United for the second time. We've got an FA Cup match coming up in another week as well. Lost that one as well. ](*,) We only had 2 days from our previous match so we were starting on 85% condition. Fucking stupid scheduling. Scored first, 13 minutes. 2 minutes later, own goal. 45+1 they take the lead. Again we push forward but couldn't score. Annoying. Think I might just try our all out attack from the start in the FA Cup. Sick of losing to them. Had a rubbish youth intake. Spend £8 million a year on the youth setup and get jackshit from it. [-( And we're out of the Champions League as well. Half my first team were wrecked condition wise, and we got beat 2-1 on Aggregate by Spartak (0-1 at home, despite 66% possesion and more shots, only 2 on target ffs) in the first KO stage. And now we have to play United again in 2 days. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) It's 3-1 after 55 minutes, just lost my DM to a red card. So in the space of 2 weeks we've been booted out from all three cup competitions and have hurt our chances of winning the league. Incredibly. We pulled it back to 3-3 aaaaand they went and scored to make it 4-3. Whatever. Fuck it. I didn't want to have to play them four fucking times. Guess who we have in the league next! Arsenal. \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ Four. Fucking. One. Take that you Gooner fucks. \:d/ Edited by macktheknife: 5/2/2013 01:49:50 AM

Holy shit, Ukraine at 2016
They get out of a GoD featuring Croatia, Portugal and Turkey, then they knock out France 2-1 followed by Germany 1-0 in the quarters and then England 2-1 in the semi's.
So it's my Spain side against them in the final.

Well, a positive at being knocked out of the FA Cup and CL early is it will make the rest of the season go much quicker.
We drew our next game against Cardiff 2-2 (coming from behind). We're locked up with Arsenal again. 31 games, 72 points. 55 GD to their 48. Have a decent run in, but City is the last match.

What the shit?! My Youth Developer has decided that it's necessary to offer a 19 year old 2.5 star winger whose best attribute is an 11 an 80k/week, 5 year contract. Are you fucking kidding?

Why do you have him allocating contracts anyway? That's 20 million down the drain
In my news, we just threw away a 2-0 half-time lead at home against Newcastle meaning we have to beat Manchester City in the last game of the season to secure the title. I'm certain the game has a bias against high possession teams because all that possession means jackshit when the other team can suddenly run rings around your team and score with both of their only shots on target.
Oh wait. Throwing away those two points has allowed United, who have been 3rd from the 15th game of the season, to take the lead by 2 points. ](*,) ](*,) They play Liverpool. We play City. Arsenal play Southampton but need both us and United to lose. So many points thrown away this season. We'd be 15 points clear if we hadn't ruined the start of the season.

Quote:Why do you have him allocating contracts anyway? That's 20 million down the drain I don't have him allocating contracts, he's only meant to be doing the youth contracts and academy signings. So I've got no idea why he's offered this lad a professional contract. There was no way I was having this useless tit sitting there burning up 20m of my hard earned, unsettling team harmony and then never being able to get rid of him. I rage quit.

Well you've obviously got a setting somewhere. When you get back on double check your team policy and director of football options. I wouldn't trust the AI to give out youth contracts, let alone actual real ones. We beat City 2-0. Now I wait to see what happened in United's game. I don't want to check the live league. Maybe if we've won and their game is over we'll get the celebration in-match. Damn. United won. 1-0, 73rd minute. Liverpool got dominated. Unitd won the League Cup, FA Cup, Europa League and the Premier League. :-k That fucking set of three games one after the other fucked my entire season up. ](*,)

Thinking of making a new save in a couple of days, I would prefer a mid table championship side that could possibly challenge for promotion with the right signings and management, also a bit of room to move in the transfer market. Any ideas??
EDIT: Seriously leaning towards Blackpool.

The x.3 patch doesn't come out until after the January window closes so they can update the databases to include the transfer movements from the January window. The next patch is meant to be 12.2.3 ( was originally scheduled for Jan release), not the 12.3 patch, but I reckon if it's not out this week then we'll probably just have to wait for 12.3.

Edited by milan_7: 5/2/2013 09:14:01 AM I did Crystal Palace with FM12, pretty brilliant having Zaha in the championship. Charlton have a really good youth system so I'd look at them too

Our new chairman (having taken over this year) just injected £98 million into the club for no apparent reason. Our balance was at something like £38 million after receiving our sponsorships for the season.
That is odd.. but welcome.

Division English Premier Division (17th season) Season 2040/2041 Finish 2nd A piss-poor start combined with an atrocious 2 week period in March brutally killed our hopes of winning (proper) silverware this season. We did win the Community Shield, 2-1 vs Arsenal. Yet again we failed to follow up for a third title in a row. This is the third time we've won two in a row then failed in the 3rd year. Our start was extremely poor, we were as low as 13th by week 6, but with some tactical tweaking we began our climb back up the table, getting back into the top 4 by week 14 and in 2nd by week 17. We then began an earnest two horse race with Arsenal, only for both of us to fall at the last hurdle, Manchester United taking 1st place for week 37, with a 1-0 win vs Liverpool enough for them to hold on for the title. Manchester United played a massive role in that 2 week cataclysmic failure in March, we played them three times, League Cup Final, FA Cup 6th Round and in the League, split only by the 2nd leg of our Champions League 1st KO Round against Spartak, and a League match vs Sunderland. The road to the League Cup final was easy, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Luton & Wycombe in the Semi-Final, only conceding 2 goals and winning each match by 2 or 3 goals. The final against United was terrible, they had us on the backfoot despite our possession and passing quality advantage, going ahead after 50 minutes. I switched to my ultra-attack formation but the team couldn't finish and we lost the game 1-0. CL Group Stage saw Standard Liege, Shakthar Donesk & FC Groningen all put to the sword, winning all 6 matches. 2 days after the League Cup final the team had to follow up vs Spartak Moscow in the 1st KO stage 2nd leg, after a 1-1 draw in the away leg. With our team knackered from the League Cup final I had to rest several players, with others simply having to soldier on with poor condition and it told in the final third. Despite 66% possession, and 14 shots, we could only get 2 shots on target and didn't score, while Spartak had 34% possession, 13 shots, put 5 on target and scored. Yet again the attack formation came out, and failed to hit the back of the net. We went out 2-1 on aggregate. The FA Cup was another failure, and after beating Sunderland 6-1, Chelsea 2-0 and Blackburn 3-0, we had to play guess who, Manchester United on 2 days rest in the match after our loss in the CL. They had total control of the match to start with and were ahead after 4 minutes. As half-time approached we equalised, only to go 2-1 down 4 minutes after the break, then 3-1 down on 55 minutes. Once again the all out attack signal was launched, just in time for my defensive midfielder to be sent off. Despite being a man down the team produced a superb comeback to score in the 67th and 74th minutes, but unsurprisingly, United scored in the 83rd minute to win the match 4-3. Our new stadium is finally in the planning stage. 61,000 seats, undersoil heating, roof, named after myself. It will be the 3rd biggest stadium in the Premiership, beaten only by the twin Manchester teams, and roughly equal with Arsenal, and several thousand higher than Chelsea's 'Lampard Park'. I suspect expansion potential to be around 66,000 which would put me equal with City however. I've started paying the £794k a month 30 year loan, but with the new stadium sponsorship being £610k a month the total cost to the club will be minimal, 25 million or so a season from my rough calculations. It will be complete in time for the 2043/44 season, two seasons from now. Now I have no idea how or why this happened, but with our total finances after all income our balance stood at around 30 million. Which was good. What was even better was the new chairman (taking over midway through the year) injecting £98 million into the club to help with running costs. We also received our sponsorship money for the season, the club has a total balance now of £145 million. xbop Our facilities were downgraded but returned to top level as well. The transfer market this season was relatively calm. I brought in some young talent, the best was a 22 year old defensive midfielder from Swansea for £10 million. To help pay for this I sold my existing, 29 year old defensive midfielder to Roma for £14.5 million. There was a lot of movement out of the club for the lower ability regens. The final transfer of note was selling one of my starting Central Defenders to Juventus as he'd come to the end of his contract but wasn't someone I wanted to renew. £9 million for him. This season I have two free transfers, both young attackers, a German AMC and a Brazilian AMR. The German probably won't see much action and will likely be on-sold soon enough but the AMR may be useful filling a squad gap while he develops. I am looking for a new central defender as my current defender is old, and is really a makeshift CB as he's really a DR who can play at CB. He did well, but he's 32 years old, and our current backups are not the quality require for first team. I may look to bring in a fullback as our LB is 30 years old and may need replacing next season. The final piece of the puzzle is a very young keeper, first choice is 31 and while still great, you never know how long old players will last. I have two good young backups so I want a very young keeper to develop as a home grown player. My 30 year old Iraqi attacking midfielder (Masoud) who is feeling homesick and struggling to live in England wants me to sign a 16 year old Spanish kid to help him 'settle' in.
Not sure what is going on there...

Masoud played at Osasuna 2011/2012 and the kid (would have been 14/15 years old) joined Osasuna 2012/2013 other than that nothing in common. Wonder what they got up to..?

£152 million in the bank, don't want to spend it on anyway who is too expensive
Maybe knowing the new stadium is due in 2 years, I should go back to the 4 year monthly instalment payments.
Edit - Nah. I'd rather just spend the cash up front.

woohoo, lost my first choice keeper, attacking midfielder and central defender to injury while they were on international duty. \:d/
Just secured a very nice profit on one my players who hasn't performed. Ukranian AML, 3CA and 3.5PA, but isn't really developing and never performed well, signed him at the start of last season but only 13 appearances, 1 assist, 6.75AvR. Cost me £2.9m to buy, and 1m a year wages, just got mad at lack of first team action, went fine, you can leave (no loyalty bonus), £20 million to Real Madrid. He'll do really well there probably but no point keeping a player who isn't doing well and isn't fitting.
