I just watched it and yeah it was pretty awkward. Way easier to watch in 2005, but now all the guys weren't as pumped or getting into it. I thought it was still good though. Funny to watch.

I still remember at the 2005 Aus Uruguay game when Travolta and his wife were introduced to the crowd via Adam Spencer and we had to cheer his wife because she was 'part Australian' for living in Adelaide for a year. Still makes me smile that (and a few other things that night). He vowed then to follow the team, good to see him carry that request out 5 years on.

Quote: Travolta creates Friday Morning Fever June 11, 2010 - 7:20PM Friday morning fever hit the World Cup when John Travolta visited the Socceroos' base camp. The star of Saturday Night Fever handed out a few disco dancing lessons when he mingled with the players early on Friday at their safari lodge on the outskirts of Johannesburg. Tim Cahill was the one who got Travolta going, and must hope he can manipulate the German defence with the same ease in Durban on Sunday (Monday morning Australian time). Cahill asked Travolta to name some of his favourite songs. When the movie star mentioned You're The One That I Want, Cahill asked: "How does that go again?" Travolta, wearing a Socceroos scarf with his leather jacket and jeans, was soon singing away and replicating his dance steps from one of his best-known movies. Cahill took lessons as the entire Socceroo squad clapped time. The players were clearly thrilled with the diversion provided by Travolta, a qualified pilot and an ambassador for team sponsor Qantas, who flew a jumbo into Sydney to see Australia qualify against Uruguay for Germany 2006. "I'm a huge fan," said midfielder Carl Valeri. "I got a photo, I got my shirt signed and it's going straight to the pool room. "I was actually a bit nervous. I've watched all his moves, I love his movies." Captain Lucas Neill described Travolta as "one of our number one fans". Travolta was presented with a personalised Socceroo shirt bearing the No.10 of one of his favourite players, Harry Kewell. With Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce on hand, Travolta posed for photos with the whole Socceroo squad and support staff. Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer said: "Hopefully it was a good omen to meet him again because the last time it worked in our favour (against Uruguay). "It was nice for him to be here, not only supporting the Socceroos but also our (2022) World Cup bid. "When you see how excited some of the guys were to get photos with him, it can only be a positive thing." http://www.watoday.com.au/world-cup-2010/travolta-creates-friday-morning-fever-20100611-y3jv.html

Quote:John Travolta declares he is a Socceroos fan Jun 10, 2010 11:53 PM | By Harriet McLea John Travolta showed that he still has the moves when he performed the Diski Dance shortly after landing his Boeing 707 at Lanseria airport, north of Johannesburg, yesterday morning. Travolta, a pilot, flew himself, pregnant wife Kelly Preston, and daughter Ella Bleu from Buenos Aires, Argentina, on a plane he said was "such a piece of art". The goodwill ambassador for Australian airline Qantas arrived in full pilot uniform and is in the country to show support for the Australian Socceroos at their first match against Germany, in Durban, on Sunday. "The last time I went and saw the team in their change-room, I think they were more excited about having Danny Zuko [Travolta's character from Grease] than getting into the World Cup," he said. "I wasn't able to follow them to Germany because of filming commitments, but this time I am going to enjoy the game and whatever South Africa has to offer." Hehe. Always loved Travolta. I don't even care if he is in the closet.
