well im afraid they're going to have to make amends without you craig What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Moore Keen To Make Amends? VETERAN Australian defender Craig Moore says the Socceroos are desperate to make amends for their dismal opening performance in the World Cup against Germany when they face Ghana in a must-win match in Rustenberg on Saturday.Have your say.

If Craig is personally going to make amends then he is going to need a time machine or a big rubber band to propel him around the pitch. Maybe stem cell treatment would help. However, his point is valid. The players need to rally around, and have faith in, the coach and be motivated to take the game to Ghana and Serbia.

Stop hanging around like Matthew Hayden! you have been a great servant to Australian football, but it really is time to hang up the international boots especially.

Moore OR Neill have a big part to play but Pim was greatly at fault for starting them both alongside Chippers and behind Grella. He should have had Carney with Chippers as the L sided "striker" and Culina on the RHS of attack and Jesus up front. Foolish fool.

Craig may not be the player he once was, but is still a leader both on and off the pitch. I'd back him to be a great coach if he decides to pursue that career path after his playing career.
It will be interesting to see how Verbeek tackles this game. He is naturally defensive, which works well over long qualifying stages (where you can lose the odd game and still come out on top), but not so well in a must-win situation such as this game. I just hope Arnold isnt able to get into his ear too much.

Moore keen to make amends? Good, retire now gracefully & then get the other boys in the right frame of mind to win the next few games.

If Pim was still in charge in 2014 he'd be wheeling him out Weekend at Bernie's style to start. Oh wait, that's already what they're doing...

Moorey can't be blamed for being selected. We would all like someone a bit more mobile in that position and I would have Beauchamp in his role, but the bloke is doing his best.Tactics are all Pim's headache...it will be interesting to see our defence against Ghana..he and Neill are both on yellows, yeah? Maybe that will be the defining stamp on our game if we get to Serbia.Too many yellow cards as usual.Hoping Harry the mouth doesn't get one for being gobby with the ref as he tends to do.Moore was stupid to get that yellow for backchat..that may be just another reason for Pim to give him a rest..even though I can't see him playing more than one half even if he starts.

scouse_roar wrote:You could say he's half the man he used to be. Dood that is low, you should take that comment back. I agree Moore should be dropped but who would come in to partner with Neil? The options are Milligan or Beauchamp. I am favouring Milligan but I would be happy with either getting the nod over Moore. However this is all just anticipation. I have had many conversations with people this week about possible team selections. In the back of my mind I believe Verbeek will pick close to the same 11 as last game. Back to the 4-5-1, Kennedy for Cahill, Cullina back to CDM and Brescha in for Garcia. Kewell to start on the bench and come on as second half sub if we are losing or tied.

I'm hoping we can perform a miracle and turn things around. However If you look at our form and the cattle that were selected to play Pims system it is extremely unlikely anything will change. This game Pim will have to move out of his comfort zone and use a 'new'formation to win the game,a formation he doesn't like and didnt select for. Five days for a leopard to change it's spots? If France is anything to go by ,a team with much better talent,we could be in for more of the same. Please Socceroos, call on the mongrel dog and prove me wrong!

With the cattle we have on board it's going to be a miracle if they get through. Having said that, look at France, who have players at a much higher level and probably won't get through. Pim needs to freshen up the rear, using Carney and Beauchamp, then flood the midfield with as many attacking midfielders as possible and use Jedi in front of the back four. Ghana play a 4-1-4-1 and will look to overwhelm us in the midfield. Pim's old 4-2-3-1 can work as long as one of the defensive mids ranges forwards and they use Kenndy and Kewell positively.

We'll make amends if you're not part of it. If you play Craig, just tell the whole group to start packing their bags.

The Germany/Serbia game tonight will be critical for us. If Germany win, Serbia will be out and will be gutted. The last game of the round won't be like the one against Croatia, who still had a chance of progressing. Even if Serbia win, if we win it will mean that all teams are tied on 3 points each and anyone can progress.
Also knowing that Ghana play Germany last gives us hope that Germany will help decide our fate. Maybe we're lucky to have Germany in such good form and we just don't realise it.
Come on Aussies, bounce back and punish Ghana and we might just be in the box seat to progress.

We've had to put up with this douche at the Roar and the Socceroos for too long - the fact that he had testicular cancer shouldn't mean we can't call a spade a spade, or a douche a douche. Craig Moore, you're a douche.

only problem with Germs beating Serb is that they might coast against Ghana and draw or worse, lose. we need them to smash both serbia and Ghana.

Everyone is going on about how Pim used the wrong tactics and wrong players to execute them. I think the problem goes back a bit further in that the intelligence gathering and analysis on the opposition is not nearly as good as 2006.
Pim tried to use Culina on the left to counter Mueller and Lahm. Wrong move, not because Culina can' play on the left, but because the real danger man was Ozil in the middle (a fact we have now alerted the other teams to). I think if Culina had started in the middle and given the job of taking him out of the game, the rest of the tactics might have worked, but only if Carney was left back, Chippers left wing, perhaps Beauchamp in centre defence, perhaps Valeri instead of Grella.
I only hope that the research on Ghana and Serbia is a lot more up to date.
