England were "third favourites behind Brazil and Spain"? Really? Not in my books!
And if Holman is the best thing to come out of this WC for Australia, then we are in as much trouble as the Poms. The good thing for us is that we ended up on a winning note, with a couple of solid performances which ultimately will have a good impact on the local game.
As for England, I remember seeing skinny, white schoolkids shivering in the playgrounds of London, desperately keen to get their phys ed class over as soon as possible. That's the future right there, mate.
What do you think about the FourFourTwo blog
England’s Worst World Cup
?
South Africa 2010 was quite possibly England's worst ever World Cup finals showing in recent memory, both in terms of performances and future positives.
Arriving in South Africa as third favourites b...
Have your say.

According to the
bookies
.
"England are one of the favourites to lift the coveted football trophy at $6, behind Brazil and Spain at $5.50."

So how much did you lose, Trev?
I liked the recent Guardian story titled "Land of Hope and Disappointment", which said England gave the world the English language, the industrial revolution and football, and has now lost control of all three.

I can't believe we only managed a draw against a s**t team we should easily have beaten.
I'm ashamed to call myself Algerian.

I agree, it was a bit of a sorry story for England in terms of rising talent. I don't think England were quite as bad in the last game as has been reported. Terry caused two of the goals to be realistic and the final goal was due to them pushing so far forward. The overall performance I didn't get to see all the games so hard to say.
In terms of Australia I disagree that Holman was the new found hope of our football. I would say Carl valeri was our best find. IMO the best up coming talent in Oz footy is Rys Williams and he didn't even get on the plane!

Looks like Fozz has been laying into England as well. He has a couple of good points...
