Ok, so I'm not really one of those people that overly enjoys going clubbing, I'd prefer a sports bar or a pub anyday...but, I'm supposed to be going into the City (Melbourne CBD) to a few different nightclubs with a bunch of friends and from memory i think they want to go to Revolver, Co, Fusion and then just sortof find a few random places afterwards etc etc.

Anyway, question is, how should I dress(including shoes)?

Only ever been to the local scummy nightclub and not really sure whats expected :-k

Only been clubbing once, and got refused entry. [-( - Apparently you can get pissed off 2 Schooners. ](*,) Fucking Fob at the door (Don't go Trademark, the fob out the front is a jerk :lol: ) /rant

But i'd just suit up. That's what i did.

dress pants, collared shirt, dress shoes

If you've got dress pants, wear them, otherwise un-ripped jeans. Collared shirt, casual, not business or you'll look like a tard going to revolver like that. And Dress shoes.

Really it's down to the kind of night you want to have. You can get into revolver in a wife beater and a thong if you want to, but it's not recommended.

Ok, thanks guys, guess I should probably grab some new shoes and pants tomorrow then, starting to feel all bogan looking at my wardrobe from a clubber's point of view :lol:

Don't go to Revolver in a suit unless you're willing to wear a hat too and look like a pretentious indy kid.

Do not suit up to go clubbing. It doesn't make you look smart or stylish. It makes you look like a cunt.

I have no clue... what clubs do all the younger people go to 18-19? I imagine certain age brackets flock to the same places?

I've no idea about any of the clubs or dress codes either, but the ones my mates (18-20) etc always go to are Marquee, Revolver, Billboards, neverland, Co and Fusion at Crown or just a pub crawl through the cbd at places like the elephant wheelbarrow, golden monkey etc.

Circus is awesome on a friday.
Marquee is probably the best pace on the list there.
Billboards is alright but they do Hard Kandy so the place is often full of dickheads.
Revolver is alright.
I don't know Neverland.
Odeon and Fusion are alright, but the bardenders are pricks.

Avoid Eurotrash, Rats and Pony and you should be fine.

BANG!, Next and DV8 are scene/emo/punk. Emo kids go to revolver, pony and Rats. All of which are shit.

And yes, if you go in there dressed in smart jeans and a casual shirt (untucked of course) they'll pretty well jump your bones on the spot.

I fucking loved Pony a few years ago when I was down there pretty regularly. It's the dank! The dank!

Pony is far from the worst place in town. But the girls there are either like windsocks or frigid as.

Of course I prefer pretentious indie rock places and gigs, or just rocking out at the Tote...

The Tote has to be the most miserable venue in Melbourne.
