He was probably thinking "were early in the game, this won't be called for time wasting and the 6 second rule is never called out on". That said, he won't make that mistake again  Otherwise decent performance. Wish we could've scored a few more to show how much of a dominate performance it was. Bordeaux had very few chances. Benteke and Milner were absolutely brilliant Edited by tbitm: 27/11/2015 09:32:14 PM

Like I said, Klopp is a breath of fresh air for the young squad, you can see the energy growing each game. The more we get to grasp his style of play the stronger we will be, barring injuries very promising. Spoke too soon, apparently he's picked up another injury

:( yep, always comes back to bite you, especially when it concerns Sturridge. Picked it up at training, a foot injury. I commented he was made of glass long ago, if he doesn't get on the pitch and last a few games in a row and more going to test how long we persist with him thats for sure. Looking forward how we play against the Swans. RIP Gerry Byrne.

I'm going to assume Sturridge is injured and unavailable for each and every game. That way every game he actually does play will be a bonus.
Frustrating for the fans for sure, but must be even more frustrating for the player.

RIP Gerry Byrne. Sounds like Garry Monk's job may be on the line on this one. Hopefully we win but don't destroy them.

Swans game is going to be tuff no doubt, they always give us a run since BR came over, Monk on the back foot I'm sure they will came out blazing, we just need to absorb it then pounce :d

1-0 to Liverpool... Not the best or most interesting of games but a welcome 3 points...
For all that supposed new injury talk Sturridge winds up coming on as a sub spending 20 minutes on the pitch. And Hendo back as well.... Coutinho Sat out but with a minor injury which will see him back next week... Excellent to see the squad availability improving for the first time since Klopp took charge... Will have some interesting issues figuring out our true best 11 in the next few weeks. Lallana and Can have both been great under Klopp so it will be harsh for one of them to drop out to make way for hendo. Sturridge though may be a super sub for a while yet, I'm not convinced he can get through weekly 90 minute games...

Great to see Hendo and Sturridge back, if only for a brief cameo. Good thing with Sturridge is that we aren't so reliant on him to come in and score all our goals. He can spend a few weeks coming off the bench and working up to fitness and hopefully prove he's not made of glass.

Sturridge looked very shy out there. I feel bad for him, he so badly doesn't want to get another injury he's jogging around, not going in at all for challenges and barely jumping for headers.
I agree he should be a super sub for a bit, but don't take on Benteke. Sturridge will be at his best with Benteke on and once he starts scoring goals we will see the old Sturridge come back

I liked the look of Firmino leading our attack tbh... He links up better with the attacking mids similar to how Suarez did... With Benteke he can score but I don't see him creating chances for his team mates the way Firmino does.

Yes - I saw Firmino's play up front similar to Suarez's, he and Benteke pairing would do the job and Sturridge as mentioned a super sub till he gets quite a few runs on the board gaining fitness then re access. Hendo, is going to be a huge return for the mids. Going to be a interesting mid week game, curious what Klopps starting line up will be.

Should have been a 2 or 3-0 result and was disappointed with the poor finishing, especially to passing from the midfield which either overshot the intended target or was clumsily executed at landed at the feet of a Swansea player. All the same, to conduct so many of these basic errors against a side whose manager is under pressure and still come away with a win, is the mark of a good team. Under BR I'm not so sure they would have got a win, by comparison. 3 wins in a week and on we go!

It was quoted that our fluency wasn't there as per the city game. Remember the Cout was not playing, he is massive to our attack and click. Mind you our defense was sound again by the sound of it, the Swans didn't put a shot towards our goal, is that so ?. Having seen the highlights Sunday - Milners pen was so high it looked as if he skied it ! I'm not confident he being the pen taker.

Having seen the highlights Sunday - Milners pen was so high it looked as if he skied it ! I'm not confident he being the pen taker. Supposedly the wind at the stadium was insane, more than 120km/h, which may explain some of the scrappiness. I find we don't play with the same flow with Benteke on the pitch as compared with studge or Firmino.... He's very very good but I still don't feel he fits the mould of what we need. It's great that Firmino, Sturridge and Benteke are all so different but Benteke just doesn't seem suited to the type of offence we want to play.... Milner. I'm not sure I see him in our starting 11 once hendo is fully fit... Emre Can and Lucas have both made solid claims, and hendo once fit will surely slot back in... I'm not sure I want to see Emre Can make way for him...

OK Thanks Harrison, frigging high wind speeds in around Anfield ! Studge Firmino are space finders much more so than Benteke I get your point very much. Mind you, for a point man I like the big fella very much. I hear you re Milner, he is a good work horse but I agree Can has far more ability and proving his worth and Lucas actually has got a 2nd wind, he is playing very sound imo. Hendo is a given, once match fit he's our best mid full stop. I'd be more inclined Klopp would drop Lucas before Can when the time comes if so but Milner, even though he does some stupid stuff at times his work rate is high, in Klopps hands, injury may answer the scenario or makes the call, watch this space. Big game for the many ex players coming up :)

Holy shit, I'm couldn't believe it when I heard the result ! so yer tbitm I get your point but we have been playing sound the last month, city game was the obvious highlight and showed what this young squad can do followed by grafting wins so one of those days it just "clicked" I expect.

Well that's a shame.
Watched it this morning... wasn't great. Benteke had a great chance for 1-0 and different game if it goes in but oh well. He was far too static, it only works having him if you have other players in nice and close to feed off the flicks and knock downs. Unfortunately our central players were Milner/Allen/Lucas who weren't doing that. I don't think we needed all 3, I would've kicked one of Allen/Milner for Lallana.
Ibe tried his heart out but I don't think he beat his man once, nothing came off. Firmino was a passenger.
Unlucky own goal but can't say we deserved to win.
Hopefully do the business in Switzerland and top our group.

Hopefully we have Hendo and Coutinho back in the starting line up asap. I don't really care about Utd's results tbh, and not sure why so many fans of other clubs take joy out of seeing them miss out on the next round. At the end of the day they are having a sh*t season and are still higher than us on the ladder and were at least in the UCL to start with. If anything we should have hoped they progressed and it distracted them from their league games. Having said that, a meeting in the later rounds of the Europa league would be nice.

Studge has always been a gamble, were just lucky season before last he actually survived most of the season and delivered. Yes thats the more frustrating, knowing he can deliver the goods but no good constantly in rehab. You can read between the lines re Klopps quotes, he knows he's potent, just get him back slowly especially mentally it seems and he'll be a super sub I expect. As for that other result, sorry mate other fans love dishing it out, I may enjoy a little ok, sure were behind, were used to this lol.....I'm so looking forward to our next encounter, Europa was in my thoughts actually as well.
