But the game or sport of cricket goes on If it doesnt, then we have a problem now dont we? Hopefully test cricket will continue but maybe the pressures from the idiocy of twenty20 will eventually take their toll and test cricket will be changed for the worse forever.

Disappointed to see Australia select a much weaker team than possible for the first test.

I don't think there's anyone who could really be brought in to improve it. Although dropping Mitch Johnson for pretty much anyone would be a start.

I'm preying to the heavens he has actually improved or it's just pre-Ashes wank. I want to win this one and take it off the bastards.

It's pre-ashes wank. Johnson will never improve. If he hasn't figured out line, length and consistency by the age of 32 he never will.

Mitchell Johnson should not be in the test
Shane Watson is not completely fit so he should not be in the test team
Phil Hughes should be opening with Chris Rogers, it is the best possible opening combination.

Merv Hughes was constantly plagued by issues with his weight and questions around his fitness, and it eventually took its toll on his knees.

Had a chat to and watched the English lads have a hit today. They seemed pretty calm. Jonathon Trott was in a net next to Bell, and Bell was absolutely middling everything, but Trott could hardly get bat on ball. There were plenty of teammates watching and encouraging him, but there was a definite tension while he was batting.

Harris & MJ =p~ =p~

You can't continue to select Johnson on the basis that he had 2-3 good games on fast wickets. 11.mvfc.11 wrote:Still took 200 test wickets. Could have been 400 if he ever got his weight under control.

So you're saying the only reason Hughes didn't achieve what only 7 Pace bowlers in history have achieved, is his fitness?

So you're saying the only reason Hughes didn't achieve what only 7 Pace bowlers in history have achieved, is his fitness? He would have been called up younger if there weren't doubts about his fitness, he was cut twice for the same reason and he retired earlier than he could have because his weight was doing too much damage to his knees. Maybe I exaggerated but he could easily have taken 100 more wickets. I mean, look at what he did to England in '93.

I always get torn over who to support. I grew up hating Australia but then when you live here you begin to have a liking towards some of the players and towards Aus in general.
Aus have quite a few players i hate as well. So im pretty right down the middle. Lets just hope we get some cracking cricket.

Kamau Leverock, nephew of Dwayne Leverock, is a member of the current Bermuda team that is playing in ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers that are currently on.
