In a bit of pathetic journalism Brisbane's Courier Mail is refusing to mention Stuart Broad's name during the test match. Are they a bunch of 12 year olds?

Thats hilariously pathetic. What happens if he gets 10fer and then a double century? How do they report the match? Apparently they tweeted that some English bloke had taken a wicket after Broad got Roger's wicket.

I'd say England's won that first session considering how the pitch there bowling on is a batsmans paradise

Not sure how I feel about today it's kind of like when your team is expected to win a football match but concedes a goal and scores an injury time equalizer. Advantage is still firmly with England but it could've been much worse

Two minor positives to take out of today 1) that Johnson/Haddin partnership clawed back some sort of respectability and 2) Haddin in general and the fact he's still there.

Okay, I do not like the fact that Watson is in the team at all. However I think there are serious issue about whether he should have played seeing he is not fit. Similar questions could also be asked about Clarke, if his back is limiting him to the extent he can play like a test match batsman should he be in the side. However it is hard to drop Clarke seeing there is absolutely no one of any quality coming through, apart from Hughes as an opener. I thought Khawaja was going to be good but I was wrong. It is interesting though that in the first few games of the Sheffeild Shield batsman are doing a lot better than last year. It is however such widespread boost in averages it is probably a combination of the pitches and poorer quality of the bowling that has caused this rather than improved batting. However it would be good if I am wrong about this.

Clarke (when his back is not too bad), Haddin, Harris and Siddle are the only 4 I would say are definitely good enough. Smith, Rogers, Lyon and Warner are borderline at best and I don't think they ever will amount to much, however there is nothing better. Watson, Johnson and Bailey should not be in the team.

Positive is we have runs on the board. You never really know how good or bad a total is until the other team has a crack. As Vaughn said, despite the quality of England's line up, they aren't known for putting together 400+ totals often.

Haddin not out in the 90s is highly likely although Lyon is far from the worst No. 11.

Haddin runs himself out for 94.
Interesting stat from Kerry O'Keefe, Australia has never lost a test when MJ has scored more than 60.

Johnson quick, but inaccurate and giving away runs in his first couple of overs.
