This is where Mitchell Johnson would've come in handy with his batting

Pattinson looks good defensively, hopefully him and Siddle can build a partnership, I think I read somewhere recently that up until U/16's Pattinson was a opening batsmen for his rep side which explains his solid technique

WTF happened? All of the guys who have gotten out have played bad shots or not played a shot at all in Clarke's case, green wicket has helped the Kiwi's out but its really been very poor batting

RedKat wrote:Have to say I prefer the shit batting tracks (although most of the wickets from both teams could really be attributed to poor shot selection rather than the pitch). Least a poor batting track has a higher chance of a result.. and always better to watch It's not even a shit batting track though. There's a bit in it for the bowler, but if a bloke sets him and actually plays patiently and focuses, they can make a few runs. Look at Brownlie yesterday. Cricket pitches have become so tame, and batting so easy now a days, that anything with a bit or movement or bounce, completely blows batsmen away. And then it's labelled a shit pitch and they stop playing tests there. It's ridiculous. I'd be very surprised if there weren't some complaints after this test.

Wish these commentators would stop praising our batsmen, they've now down it to Warner, Clarke and Siddle and they've all gotten out the next ball

Boult holes out to Hussey on the boundary. NZ all out for 226, lead of 240. Australia need 241 to win. Will be a very interesting 2 sessions.

Now we've got a real game on our hands.
And now Bracewell is on a hattrick, Hussey gone LBW first ball. 5/159

Take a bow David Warner, really saving our bacon.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone run a 2nd run as hard as he did
The best thing about that 100 is it will push Hughes out of the side I think.

Well done Warner!
This is the first time I've watched him bat for a while, so I'll withdraw my previous concerns about his technique & mentality.
What is more impressive is that he looks to have 'reset' to chase down the winning 60 runs.

Wow, Pattinson gets given out for what seems to be a plum LBW. Decision Review shows it hit him just outside the line. What a cracking finish to this Test!

Lyon just needs to block everything on the stumps and leave everything not on the stumps and leave everything else to Warner.

What an intense finish. Two LBW decisions reversed to be not out. Inside 20 runs now, Warner needs to stay in control.
