Anyone else get the feeling Darcy had absolutely no respect for Robinson there?

He said some interesting things but didn't take any responsibility and was far too content on playing the victim and shifting the blame. Obviously there would be some truth to what he said but I wouldn't buy into it too much.

Is it worth watching? Don't think it was aired up here.

Yeah I found it very interesting tbh, interesting to hear such a heart felt account of it all from a man heavily involved. I genuinely felt sorry for the amount of stress and pressure the scandal has placed on his life, I mean the guy confessed to being seconds away from suicide more than once, and his wife has been hospitalized due to stress. He has been hung out to dry by Essendon but I can't help but question the sincerity of his allegations considering the way he didn't take any responsibility for anything and was so keen to vilify Hird. It sort of seemed like he was more interested in clearing his name and in the process exacting revenge on the club rather than accepting any responsibility or implicating himself in it all.

The anger from McVeigh (a 2012 EFC player) in the follow up section demonstrates that there is clearly two sides to ever story, that being said it's hard to take McVeigh seriously considering the playing group are so united behind Hird. However McVeigh had previously been outspoken against the supplement program and what he felt was dishonesty by those implementing it, so he has his perspectives too and not just based reactionary to Robinsons' claims.

If Robinson was telling the truth that he was hadn't done anything wrong and it was all the responsibility of other people then he wouldn't have had any reason to contemplate suicide IMO.

Yeah I sort of agree, but the media pressure and subsequent defamation of his name would place an enormous toll on him, I mean he spoke of having to try and convince family and friends of his innocence, it would be pretty terrible never knowing whether those closest to you believed in you.

Collingwood vs GWS (33k) got double the attendance of Melbourne vs North (16k).

But collingwood's the biggest aussie rules club in the world, why wasn't it a sell-out, regardless of whichever team they played ?

Melbourne the sporting capital of the World where 60% of members do not even bother to turn up to watch their team play in the world's best AFL competition.

Melbourne will be lucky to get that next time, they are a joke. Too many teams too many meaningless games and the gap between the good and bad is only getting bigger.

I would like to think that we are not considered as the sporting capital of the world based on the worlds greatest ALF competition, but rather how we manage other events and competitions.

As for the final paragraph I completely agree. North Melbourne, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs appear to be dying to make way for soulless franchises like GWS, GCS, and Port who are all appear to be failures.

GWS maybe. But how are Gold Coast and Port failures?

Port fans only turn up if they win. A Melbournesque season, you can kiss them goodbye, especially with player wages these days. GC have no true fan base. The majority that rock up are on promo deals.

Freo have a tendency to struggle at the G, plus they're a few key positions short of it anyway imo, really hoping Hawthorn don't win too. I still have slim hopes that Buckley will get the boys to pull the finger out and we have a bit of luck come September but I doubt it, I still think once we get a few faces back to form and fitness Collingwood can match anyone bar Hawthorn though, however this year seems a write off.

Can it get any worse for Melbourne?,

When a team has lost 21 games straight as GWS has and they are favorites and then win easily you would think that Melbourne has hit the absolute bottom.

But just when you thought it could not get worse OPEL pull the plug on Australia after 12 months effective immediately according to today's papers. That I assume is the same OPEL that is on the back of the Melbourne jumpers. Maybe Melbourne should consider following the lead of one of their major sponsors.

I think that's a bit rough on Geelong. Last night was a blip on the radar and North played bloody well. It'll be interesting to see where Essendon stack up against Collingwood tomorrow.

Nah. Empty stadium = 6,000. And then from there it's 1 visible person = 500 in attendance.

Equally as galling is that GWS are getting the #1 pick even if they finish above Melbourne.

I think this could well be the best team Freo have ever put together. They're a better chance than they've been any other year.

If I was a Freo fan I'd be quietly optimistic.
