Well, well, well... To those "experts" who expected Jim Forrest to stand down, to step aside and let the FFA take over Football NSW, how WRONG you all are! "Sportsworld" has discovered that Jim Forrest is going NOWHERE- and neither should he. What laws, rules, regulations has the man broken? Did the FFA think that the man would just hand over the stae's "keys to the castle" for the FFA to do step in and do whatever it wants? The clubs, and the associations are uniting for a torrid battle as we speak- and the man who was put in charge by football clubs in NSW is staying put! FFA may continue to dream about taking over FNSW. That is their perogative. But it shouldn't anticipate an easy contest. Not after it is becoming clearly evident that the FFA has no intention whatsoever in allowing the Members and affiliates of FNSW to have any say whatsoever in this process. And so Jim Forrest's response was quick and swift... And most crucially, to the benefit of all clubs and associations that continue to remain by his side. It is the clubs and associations who will vote on Jim's fate sometime in the coming months- not the FFA. I have it from very good authority that Jim Forrest, is therefore going NOWHERE soon. In fact, the ELECTED PESIDENT (FFA better remember this cold hard fact), will be informing, unless he has already done so, the FFA that he has decided not to step aside, resign, whatever, until the AGM is reinstated. By doing this Jim Forrest will ensure that the NSW Members (not the FFA) will retain control over their organisation. In fact, some needed constitutional reform, and a review of major projects like Riverstone don't actually need an FFA interim board. So why should one be appointed? When Jim Forrest advises the FFA of his decision, he should be ready to receive countless calls from the FFA- I am sure he is ready for that either way. Perhaps the national body would be better served by directing its energies into explaining to us all WHY it continues to charge 5, 6 and 7-year-olds three times what Football NSW charges the same age groups? And for what? Perhaps the FFA does not understand that all the other football codes actually send money down from 'top-to-bottom'. Alone among the major codes is the FFA- an organisation which charges excessively. And we all know the reason for that don't we? So the kids playing in their local parks can keep the national body and its 11 national teams in the style and status to which they are believed to deserve. Thank heavens Jim Forrest remains in place to carry the good fight on behalf of this great football state. FNSW AGM LATE FEBRUARY? "Sportsworld" has further been told that the rescheduled AGM of Football NSW will be conducted in late February. This will give the President plenty of time to get to the bottom of what's been going on. And wait and see what is going to come out in the month of January! Keep watching this space... http://www.therealgame.com.au/blogs/lucky-laki/12/jim-forrest-vows-to-fight-on

So how does that work? Once you have resigned can you just reinstate yourself? I was under the impression that once you have resigned and that resignation has been accepted thats it your gone. If that is the case then Jim is reneging on his initial resignation seems very very strange.

There is no quote from jim forrest and i would believe there own football NSW website over an agenda driven article that circulates among the belmore faithful.

Quote:Joint Communication from FFA and Football NSW 16.12.10 16:47 We are writing to update you following the decision last week of the Board of Football NSW to cancel the Annual General Meeting. As you know this decision followed receipt by the FNSW Board of the report it had commissioned from the independent Commission of Enquiry. In relation to the future composition of the Board, as advised last week the Commission’s Report made various recommendations concerning structural, operational and governance matters within FNSW. In essence the report recommended that a review into the operations and governance of FNSW be conducted under the supervision of an interim board of appointed directors. It is expected that the review will take six months and upon completion director elections will be held. The primary focus of the interim Board will be the supervision of the conduct of the review. To allow this to happen, the following directors whose terms were due to expire at the AGM have resigned as directors of Football NSW – Linda Ward (effective 9 December 2010), George Jackson (effective 16 December 2010). Jim Forrest has also agreed to resign effective from 4 January 2011. Formal recognition of these directors over many years will be made separately. As FFA’s largest member, FFA looks to FNSW to be a leader in on-field and off-field aspects of the game, and considers this review to be an opportunity to identify structural and governance reforms that could benefit the whole of the game. Accordingly FFA and FNSW are conferring over the best course of action to implement the necessary reforms. We appreciate that there may a period of uncertainty for members as we work through this process and wish to assure members that we will be working very closely together to take the opportunity presented to conduct such a review in the interests of football in NSW, its members and football more generally. Yours sincerely, Ben Buckley Ian Holmes Chief Executive Officer (FFA) General Manager (Football NSW) http://www.footballnsw.com.au/index.php?id=17&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4638&tx_ttnews[backPid]=389&cHash=6663ac06fe

Many have known Jim Forrest including myself since before he was President of FNSW and anyone who does knows he understand what grass roots football is all about. There is nothing corrupt about Jim and I dare anyone to either put up or shut up about him doing wrong.
The work that Jim and his team at FNSW does is incredible for our state. Anyone who has visited Valentine Park in the last few years knows it out dated and lacking in space. Jim is bringing about a new home for FNSW with state of the art football grounds and facilities with the majority of cost being covered by the sale of the old facilities to urban development being just one of the many good things to come from Jim's tenure at FNSW.
Now i'm not speaking about the directors of FNSW. Just what I know about the good work Jim is doing since taking over the job some years ago. FFA can clearly see what FNSW is worth on yearly basis (Roughly 55 mill p.a.) and FFA want to get their fingers on our state pie to piss up on their national league. One thing FFA are very good at is pissing up other peoples money (AKA failed world cup bid) which wasted 45 mill of taxpayers money. 45 mill of taxpayers money could have gone a long way to helping each states grass roots football. No one can argue that point.
The way I see it is that FFA have gone nasty on FNSW since they tried to go to a summer comp which would put FFA's nose out of joint. FFA have enlisted some media buddies to effect a smear campaign on those at FNSW with no real subtstance of fact to back them up.
Good on Jim for vowing to continue the good work the good people at FNSW have been doing for years. Jim Forrest really has grass roots football at his heart and good on him for taking a stand against FFA trying to greedily money grab our states finances to prop up the failing national football league that is bleeding dollars quicker than a dying whale under a shark feast.
Keep up the good work Jim! Many are behind you all the way champ! FFA can go take a long walk off a short plank for all i care.

Jim Forrest IS a corrupt and useless bastard who is destroying football in NSW through excessive fees, lack of support for certain disticts and ignorance of regional football. The sooner he is out the better for football.
