Ugh. Would love to see QOTSA again, but couldn't stand giving Reznor money. Oh well.

I'm there with bells on. Though I get the feeling tickets are going to be up near $200 each.

Lostprophets have unsurprisingly called it a day. Such a shame, but completely understandable.

So for being a "Paradigm shift" the album is more of the same old sound from Korn. Never Never is by far the best track on the album, largely just because it's so different to their usual sound.

Gizmodo wrote:Report: Piracy Isn't Killing Content Contrary to what the popular press might have us believe, piracy isn’t killing content. At least, that’s what a team of scholars from the London School of Economics has found after conducting a deep analysis of the situation. Sure, there are content casualties along the way — the physical music record is doomed, sorry — but there always were. The media business ebbs and flows; things come and go. But the overall picture is, according to the academics, better than many think. Scholars from the London School of Economics explain: “Contrary to the industry claims, the music industry is not in terminal decline, but still holding ground and showing healthy profits. Revenues from digital sales, subscription services, streaming and live performances compensate for the decline in revenues from the sale of CDs or records… “Despite the Motion Picture Association of America’s (MPAA) claim that online piracy is devastating the movie industry, Hollywood achieved record-breaking global box office revenues of $US35 billion in 2012, a 6% increase over 2011… The music industry may be stagnating, but the drastic decline in revenues warned of by the lobby associations of record labels is not in evidence.” You can go read the full report here. It makes surprisingly pleasant reading, all things considered.

Well if there's no album art going with it then there's really no value reason to do anything but pirate it.

So, it's starting to get to that "My opinion of music is vitally important to your life" time of year, where we all make Top 10 lists...So here's mine as it stands.
Kavinsky - Outrun BMTH - Sempiternal Hollywood Undead - Notes from the Underground AA - From Death to Destiny Ghost - Infestissumam My Ticket Home - Strangers Only Dangerkids - Collapse Cult of Luna - Vertikal Oceans Red - Hold your Breath EP Daft Punk - R.A.M
That's the order as it stands, though they're all fucking amazing albums. Still more to come and more to listen to as well. Been an awesome year for music.

The Greatest Generation- The Wonder Years Daylight Then, in no particular order What You Don't See- The Story So Far The Blackest Beautiful- letlive. Mallory Knox- Mallory Knox Tape Deck Heart- Frank Turner Paramore- Paramore The Other Side- Tonight Alive Opposites- Biffy Clyro ...Like Clockwork- QOSTA Damage- Jimmy Eat World
I swear I've missed a couple out. i did a Top 10 a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to save it, and Jimmy Eat World weren't on it. But until I can figure out who i've forgot, they'll stay there.
Need to give the new Arctic Monkeys a few more listens. Some awesome songs on it, but still hasn't won me over yet.
Also need to check out Dangerkids, State Champs and Hands Like Houses, and ADTR, YMA6, Deaf Havana and Eminem

It's the second QOSTA album I've listened to (the first being Songs for the Death) and I thought it had some good songs, but I do agree some parts of the album lost me. That and Jimmy Eat World are the first albums that will drop out if I find better albums. Jimmy Eat World was pretty good lyrically, it was the sound that stopped it from being great. Anyone doing Top 10 songs? Off the top of my head... Passing Through a Screen Door- TWY Four Simple Words- Frank turner Now- Paramore Taking Chances- C!NCC Do I Wanna Know?- Arctic Monkeys Dead Bite- H'wood Undead Banshee (Ghost Fame)- Letlive. From Can to Can't- Sound City Entertainment- Phoenix Black chandelier- Biffy Clyro

Bring Me The Horizon was brilliant last night. Perth mosh pits go off! Worst thing about the night was missing all of Crossfaiths set stuck in the queue to get in.

May go to this. Have always loved QOTSA, and Josh Homme (sp?) is a lord - I saw him at a Them Crooked Vultures gig in Sydney and he was unreal. Why all ages though ffs Have heard a few songs from Stonefield - a triple J band. 4 piece sister act from Melbourne, I'm led to believe. Anyway they released their first album at the end of last week. I've enjoyed the songs I've heard so far. The gospel band they've used was a pretty cool addition.

Quote:Why all ages though ffs I can't imagine there's a particularly large contingent of U18's kids who are that big a fans of either band. And an even smaller amount that can afford $125. Especially in Newcastle.
