There was mildly more options to choose from than last year. Not much though. This was all I could find worth voting for on the lists.
August Burns Red The Wake Aversions Crown Parasites King Parrot Like A Rat Millencolin Sense & Sensibility Psycroptic Cold Refused Francafrique Refused Dawkins Christ Smith Street Band, The Wipe That Shit-Eating Grin Off Your Punchable Face Soilwork The Ride Majestic Thy Art Is Murder Holy War

Alright have just started listening.
Thoughts so far at just looking at the list:
I don't know that much music.
But how the fuck does Courtney Barnett have 4 songs already - dreadful music.
No idea how Swear Jar is 39, I don't mind Illy but that is a terrible song.
Was tempted to include #98, Be Together over Lean On in my top 10, could make a case of #37 Alright, as well.
Oh well one of my songs is at #36 'All My Friends'.

Ok
#32 @CHVRCHES - ‘Leave A Trace’, have heard this a few times, its alright just missing something to make it really good. :-k #24 - @flumemusic - ‘Some Minds’ {Ft. @Wyattish} Forgot about this not bad. #22 @TheLDRU - ‘Keeping Score’ {Ft. @turntopaigeiv}, parts that are good and others that are dreadful. #21 @gangofyouths - ‘Magnolia’ - Really liked that. #20 @Foals - ‘Mountain At My Gates’ Really liked that as well. #19 @theweeknd - ‘The Hills’ Dam, one of my more favourite songs this year.
#18 @macklemore & @RyanLewis- ‘DOWNTOWN’ - SHITHOUSE.

That's a disgrace, should be top 10 at the very least IMO.

Not many people who listen to triple J like prog or metal :(
Been a pretty chilled countdown so far. Helps that all songs don't really stand out for me

#15 @violentsoho - ‘Like Soda’ - Parts of it reminded me of Pearl Jam, will listen to it some more. #13 @DukeDumont - ‘Ocean Drive’ - Was on my shortlist for a while. #8 @HermitudeMusic - ‘The Buzz’ {Ft. Mataya/@youngtapzmusic} - As was this. #7 @jarrydjames - ‘Do You Remember’ - Thought it would be slightly higher. #4 @tameimpala - ‘The Less I Know The Better’ - Sounds cool will check it out. #2 @kendricklamar - ‘King Kunta’ - Thought this would get to number 1. #1 @theRubensmusic - ‘Hoops’ - Really like this song but yea don't think it deserves to be number 1.

Another year another load of garbage. Lucky I worked today :) They have systematically taken any kind of alternative music out of the countdown over the past decade by not shortlisting many bands. With technology having come where it has in the last 10 years, the listener base has also dramatically changed. The demographic is now made up by a majority of clueless drones who cannot think for themselves.

The music appeared very homogenous. Every song seemed it was from the same genre. Except number 2.

Lol hard when the hottest 100 is watered down to have quotas rather than be based on a vote.

Yep a new album. If you haven't liked his previous stuff you definitely won't like it. But any Kanye/rap fan will love it. His best work since MBDTF imo. Admittedly that's only after a few listens.

Will it be released in any way other than on Tidal in the near future?

Listen to his earlier shit without bias Because The College Dropout from 2004 has some top notch lyrical content? It's certainly better than his recent abominations but I don't find it remotely inspiring. I think Kayne is an insult to hip hop/rap artists. I'll be honest, I find that entire genre to be uninspiring (personal taste) but I can appreciate lyrics and talent where it exists. Kayne is taking the piss. His attitude is the only thing worse than his lyrics.
