Just found out one of the local cafe's I go to for lunch sometimes that's run by a nice Lebanese lady is being taken over by asians. They've been in 'training' there for a while, but I don't get a 'regulars' discount or anything free...or anything that resembles customer service from them either.

I have a theory. Instead of a forthright invasion they're making them migrate over here untill they out number us all, then they will rise against us and imprison us.

In america they have incredible customer service, their expectation is insane and they'll bend over backwards for you. They come over here and ask for something not entirely ridiculous and get told "fark off mate". Customer service is shit here. Many asian owners are making it even worse.
Don't get me wrong, I know a couple of milkbars that are owned by very nice asian ladies who always used to slip me a mars bar or a can of coke when I got the paper, but they're few and far between and the standard seems to be lower than in a lot of other ethnicities.

Quote:when most of your wage comes from tips of course your customer service is going to be fantastic To be honest, in most cocktail bars in the city I can clear as much in tips as I get in wages in a night. People here just don't give a shit.

I have always found it amusing how they are called a yiros in SA. However for pure meat indulgence how can you go past a souvlaki?

Got a Kebab this afternoon with a mate from Victoria Kebabs, on Victoria Road, Gladsville. Was atrocious. Shockingly made, fell apart in our hands, not nearly enough jajik or sauce, the lady who served us was moody, and arrogant. And they were too expensive. $16 for a Kebab and a drink.

Always wanted to know what Jajik is... Went to the wrong Victoria Kebabs mate. Have to go to Victoria Yeeros on Victoria St, Marrickville, up the road from Fraser Park's home ground. Those kebabs are an orgasm in your mouth. EDIT Okay so Jajik is the Lebanese equivilant of Tzatziki, pretty much? Edited by keepersball: 12/7/2011 12:48:40 AM

Very yummy if made right. My local kebab shop makes it fresh daily, and I got the recipe of the owner. It's very nice as a snack/dip - bit of Lebanese/Turkish bread. Mix it with some houmus, om nom nom.

Spinch & Cheese (Ricotta, if they do it!) is absolutely gob-smackingly awesome! Gozleme is also somthing to die for. Used to have it at the Markets in Orange Grove/Leichhardt every moring for about 5 years before cricket/football.
