http://www.ultras-tifo.net/news/649-celtic-udinese-banned-for-life-after-banner-against-uefa.html

On my Ipod so can't quote.

But some of your fans after the Udinese game have been banned gor life after a "Fuck UEFA" banner was lifted. Very harsh and quite stupid on behalf of the club.

On one hand, I think the club is definitely over reacting. On the other, I know our fans are better than this (SUTHERLANDBEAR to respond).

Celtic hit with Uefa charge

Celtic have been charged by UEFA following their Europa League Group I match against Udinese in Italy last Thursday.

European football's governing body has charged the Hoops with "the displaying of an offensive banner and setting off of fireworks by fans".

The case will be heard by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on 26th January.

It is their second UEFA disciplinary case in two months, with the Hoops found guilty last week after their fans sang pro-IRA songs in their game against Rennes on 3rd November and they were fined just under £13,000.

Celtic were knocked out of the competition following last Thursday's 1-1 draw.

15 points behind at the start of November. Now a chance to move above Rangers.

Stokes is fit, Izaguirre is available, I can't see Celtic slowing down. Going to be an amazing night if they get up. Going to have the volume up big time tomorrow morning.

Great win. The weather really ruined the game but they battled hard and fully deserved the win. Rangers never got a look in. That has to really knock Rangers, I don't think they will recover, to have such a lead pulled back so quickly will hurt them big time.

Don't have much time, will post more when i get on my lappy tonight. So proud of that win. Weather and Rangers turned it into a scrappy affair, but we still came out on top. Still a long way to go in the title race, but FMD. 15 points to -2 in the space of 2 months. Will just leave this here:

You care to elaborate on march 11 ? I don't recall any fans on the pitch, referees attacked and hit by coins or fans throwing themselves off the top tier of the stand ! Anyway English fans have no right to critisise any supporter of ANY country ! 6 year ban after Heysel ring any bells.

I actually thought we would get beat as we are rank rotten at the moment, but after watching that, you lot are not much better, so probably about a 7.5. Remember this was the exact scenario this time last season, and we know how that ended !

Mikael Lustig deal done and dusted, contract signed, he'll be officially joining us tomorrow. Stoked with him coming in, especially on a free. Will probably mean Cha and maybe Mark Wilson moving on, with Matthews and Lustig the main blokes at RB.

The Three Goals

Three fantastic finishes. Was worried a little that we'd build ourselves up to taking first place and beating rangers, and then have a drop in intensity after the chase, but we played really well and never looked in danger. Away fans sound amazing too, watching the replay now.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon's vile death threats from prison officer on Facebook
Jan 8 2012 Exclusive by Lauren Crooks

Quote:
A PRISON officer posted anti-Catholic slurs and death threats to Neil Lennon on Facebook, we can reveal.

George Harvey, 22, had only recently been recruited as a prison officer and was due to start tomorrow.

But he could be facing jail instead as his new bosses and the police investigate his comments about Celtic boss Lennon.

Messages on Harvey’s Facebook page following the Old Firm shame game in March said: “Neil Lennon you low life f***. Ally congratulates you and you point the finger. Matter of time, click f*****g click.”

He then blasted: “Ya dirty fenian rebel lego munching ****. Damned to hell ya wee ginger ****. Bang bang. We’re coming.”

Other online postings under his name and picture slur Celtic fans and Catholics in general.

And on Twitter, a poster claiming to be Harvey, from Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, moans: “Hate how you can’t dislike a Catholic without being labelled a bigot. Or hate a black man without being labelled racist.”

He declined to comment last night but a message to pals on Christmas Day from his Facebook account said: “Merry Christmas to all my Protestant friends. The rest, f*** you.”

In a tweet two days before Rangers’ 4-2 win over Celtic at Ibrox in September, Harvey’s feed said: “48 hours to go and the hatred has started to pour out me.”

And hours before the Old Firm showdown a fortnight ago, a sickening video tribute to outlawed loyalist paramilitary groups was posted on Harvey’s Facebook page by a pal.

The three-minute song features lyrics about killing Catholics and images of armed terrorists.

Harvey had been due to start training as a prison officer before joining the new Low Moss jail at Bishopbriggs.

Yesterday, a Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: “It is not policy to comment on any individual.

“We have well-established policies which make clear our position on matters of diversity and equality. Where any matter of alleged misconduct concerning a member of staff comes to our attention, we will take appropriate action.”

Cops blitz haters on websites

George Harvey is now likely to join a series of hate-mongers arrested over their bigoted online rants.

We told last year how Strathclyde Police had launched a unit to hunt down those behind the bigotry flooding the internet.

One man, Stephen Birrell, 27, was jailed for threats towards Neil Lennon.

Most recently, Michael Fleming, who plays for Cowdenbeath under-19s, was arrested for allegedly writing offensive comments on Twitter.

Under SNP-led legislation introduced last year, those guilty of posting hate-filled abuse or threats on the net can be jailed for five years.

*BUUUUMP*

Not much happening in the transfer window for us as of yet, which I'm happy with, coz I'd rather we keep the players who are being talked about.

CelticFC.net wrote:
Forrest earns FIFA recognition

JAMES Forrest has been identified by FIFA as one of the most exciting young players in football who could be one of the stars of 2012.

Forrest, a product of the Celtic Youth Academy, has established himself as an integral part of Neil Lennon’s first-team squad since making his debut against Motherwell on May 1, 2010.

Having made an impressive start to his Celtic career, scoring a goal on his debut, Forrest has gone on to make 57 appearances so far for the Hoops, scoring 11 goals. And his form this season has been a major factor in Celtic overturning a 15-point deficit to lead the SPL by two points.

Although pleased to be recognised, the 20-year-oldis firmly focused on maintaining his current rate of progress and helping Celtic achieve success this season.

Speaking exclusively to the official Celtic website, Forrest said: “It’s always good to hear stuff like that as it means you have been doing well, but I just need to forget about it, continue playing and keep doing what I have been doing.

“It’s a lot to do with experience. When you first come in, you don’t really know any players but I do feel more settled in the first-team now and all the boys are good to work with.

“I have played more in the first-team this season than last season, and I want to continue doing that.

“Something like this does give you a boost but we’re sitting top of the league just now and that’s the main thing - and we want to stay there until the end of the season.

“Obviously hearing stuff like that is good for you, but I just need to keep working hard.”

Neil Lennon added: “Every week I seem to be talking about Jamesy but he’s a wonderful player. I don’t want to build the kid up too much because that’s not fair. We just want him to carry on with what he’s doing.

“He’s loving life here, he’s enjoying his football and you can see that because he goes out on to the pitch and looks like a superstar in the making.”

Forrest’s talents have been highlighted on the FIFA.com website, when they state: ‘Football fans love little more than witnessing an exciting new talent announcing his arrival to the world.

Over the past year, the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Neymar, Mario Gotze and Phil Jones have made the leap into stardom, and we now wait to discover who will follow in their footsteps during 2012. Here, FIFA.com looks at a few of the likely candidates…’

Thirteen players in total have been identified, including Thiago Alcantara of Barcelona, Julian Draxler of Schalke and Ahmed Musa, the Nigerian teenager who recently moved to CSKA Moscow for 10million euros.

And of James Forrest, FIFA.com said: ‘This old-fashioned winger, described by manager Neil Lennon as Celtic’s ‘baby-faced assassin’, has been the Scottish Premier League’s outstanding player this season.

'National manager Craig Levein and performance director Mark Wotte have
both predicted a bright international career, with the latter lauding the speedy and skilful Forrest as ‘a light in the darkness’ in Scottish football.'
