Oh and the championship means nothing, premiership is more important :P Apparently not. Finals culture is more important in Australia so i was told and all that matters is the GF. Personally i think the league is better, but such is the system.

well ive read that 7 roar players were very upset about ange leaving and many only signed new contracts under the assumption he would be with the club. this could lead to a disaster and i hope the playing group stick together. 1 player in particular berisha was very upset. anyway will probably head down to the acl games even though their dead rubbers

Everyone was under the assumption that Ange had a contract and was saying and he never told anyone otherwise, so really the blame falls with Ange. Be interesting to see how things pan out. Wonder who the seven players are, hopefully Broich isnt one of them.

None of the players are upset at the club, they were really happy that they were listened too in appointing Rado because that was the players choice.
The players who were upset were upset with Ange, some VERY upset with Ange as he had assured them he was there untill at least the end of his contract.
Apparently Rado has eased a lot of those concerns however, at least to the point were they are willing to give him a go. No one is packing their bags put it that way!

The thing I'm worried about most with Ange leaving is that we'll lose some of the important players as well. To hear that some were upset with his departure and the fact that they weren't aware of it before now is a worry, but it's good to hear they're happy with Rado taking over. Players are lost and new ones come in every off-season, and I expect the same this time around. I have faith Rado can bring in the right people to keep the team strong. In terms of the remaining ACL game, of course I'll be going. I see no reason any Roar supporter wouldn't want to go and support the team in only our third ever home ACL game. Not to mention it'll be Rado's first game in charge and we should all be going along to show our support to him and the players.

He was there until the end of his contract. When announcements are made that a new 3 year contract has been signed, Ange uses phrases like 'long-term vision' and 'build a dynasty', I'll admit I took him at his word. I'm sure I wasn't the only one. With hindsight we now know he was a dirty liar.

I think if you take what he has actually said (actual quotes, not perceived quotes) vs. reality you will find that he's not a liar at all.

So he really is going to build Brisbane into one of the leading clubs in Asia and build a dynasty? Funny, I thought he'd just signed for Victory...

" So he clearly didnt lie in any of those statements? But who cares, we have Rado, and im he can do the job.

Don't get me wrong I like Steff but I would be very disappointed if he is playing ahead of Hingert next season. I also think Fitzgerald is a good talent and adds great depth due to Henrique being prone to injury. Great depth in midfield but we will need another game breaking midfielder to challenge in Asia next season if we keep most of this squad.

He was there until the end of his contract. Technically speaking yes, but there is no doubt that the players THOUGHT he was signed for another 2 seasons, the fact he wasn't if anything was a deception, because he was happy for the players to think he was when they resigned. It's a valid gripe that Paartalu in particular has.

He has said there will be two midfield holds, but never confirmed it would be a 4-2-3-1, thats just the Courier Mail's assumption.
My take of a possible lineup:
---------------theo---------------
franjic----smith----adnan----steff
---------erik------nichols------------
henrique-----------------------broich
---------fitzy-------berisha---------
I think Mitch could do quite well in the midfield hold position, he loves coming back to collect the ball from defense like erik does, and arguably does his best work in an attacking sense when he is lurking around 25 yards out as opposed to attacking the box

Also agree that Hingert > Steff in attack, but as fucked as Steff can be going forward sometimes, he really is very solid defensively and ultimately as a defender that is a pretty freekin major part of it! I don't know, its a tough call...

I like the idea of having the two defensive mids. As the majority of the goals we have conceded this year have been from counters and mistakes. So hopefully they can disrupt these threats. I'd really like Brattan to be played more next year. Hopefully we can get McKay back and we will get another foreign player for Issey.

I want brattan to feature more, hes passing is far more accurate than Erik and does a brillaint job of finding that piercing pass.
I dont think dropping Nichols is a good idea, he has a better control than Mass and Mass seems to turn the ball over a fair bit. Not sure we can play 2 up front with 2 holding mids as that leaves too much of a gap in the middle of the park and effectively makes up 4-4-2.

I really like Brattan, but I just think Mitch could possibly offer something in the DM role... How about fucking things up totally then! ----------------Theo---------------- Steff--Adnan--Paartalu--Smith--Franjic ----------Brattan---Nichols------------ Broich-------------------------Henrique -----------------Berisha--------------- With Steff and Franjic playing as proper wing backs and attacking high up in the park, like the role they played when we played a 5 man backline against MV earlier this year.

If we apply that formation you need speed behind your wing backs.
