It really wouldn't work. The road system around that area is busy enough as it is, let alone with an extra 10-20K of people travelling there, with road closures etc. You'd be just as well off to acquire Ballymore and assume that. The Broncos played at QSAC whilst Lang Park was being redeveloped, they play at Suncorp, and there is no escaping the other codes. If someone offered me an Aston Martin that I would occasionally have to share with some others over a 94 Datsun that I have sole use of, I think I'd know which one I'd take.

I went to AC/DC there and the public transport was brilliant, i can guarantee there crowd is bigger than any we could get.

With buses leaving from Garden City every couple of minutes it all happened with minimal fuss. The pubs there aren't bad either.

In saying this i agree with the people in favour of Suncorp, We shouldn't leave until we have a stadium that is just as good (in terms of viewing the game) as sunny.

I can assure you that there was a phenomenal amount of public transport going to the gig from the govt - nowhere near what they would afford Football. The thing is, there is just too much money that needs to be invested into a sub-par stadium for seemingly trivial reasons where financial investment could better used to produce results of worth to the club - i.e. own training facilities, youth academy etc.

They wouldn't need a similar amount merely a fraction of what they had for the show would suffice.
The cost to upgrade the stadium into a decent venue for watching football would be something any of us would have no idea about, but it would be a considerable amount.
And i agree that (unless they are willing to spend that kind of money) they should stick with Suncorp for the time being.

I just think that if we want to have all these facilities, we dont really have to start from scratch when this stadium is there and just needs to be refurbished.

Forget QSAC - it's not going to become a football stadium, it's owned by Queensland athletics and as someone said before, we wouldn't be able to get rid of the athletics track. I think the only way for us to own our own stadium is to build one with a capacity of 25000 or so. Long term, this is the best option financially for us, as the club would be getting all of the gate takings, and wouldn't have to pay for the use of Suncorp. Also, a smaller stadium will create a much better atmosphere, encouraging people to come again. It would have to be somewhere easily accessible by public transport too.

After watching a MLS game in a very basic football stadium I say change to a fit for purpose football stadium.

The enjoyment will remain as long as all the stadium services are in place and there's very good transport.

An upgraded Perry Park to 20,000 would be my choice. Close to train and main road for bus services. Only thing missing are pubs.

We don't need state of the art stadiums but we shouldn't move from Suncorp either until we have the right facilities.

Sick of hearing about this QSAC idea, the stadium is a derelict old piece of shit fellahs! Ever noticed how the outer stands and even the eastern stand despite it now having a roof all look like crappy temporary stands? Well thats because they ARE! It was all meant to be pulled down after the '82 games but instead it was just left there. The stadium doesn't just need redevelopment, it needs to be totally knocked down and started again, in which case why not just find a better piece of land to start with in the first place that doesn't need to incorporate a spectator viewing destroying running track?

Ballymore is a much better option then QSAC, and even Ballymore is a pretty fucked option... Lang Park is considered to be one of if not THE best rectangular football stadium in the country and we get the massive pleasure of sitting our bums in it each game and have the double pleasure of enjoying caxton street before and after the game! We are massively spoiled, but because the Broncos and Reds also play there for some reason we want something else? Thats fucked logic right there... The Broncos are a much bigger club then us, and if Lang Park is good enough for them, well then I'll be fucked if its not good enough for us!

I agree that Suncorp is the best option for us for the foreseeable future, one thing i would like the club to have is it's own training facility with a club house out the front. They could even have a pitch with some small hills and a Perry Park style stand for pre season friendlies. This could act as the clubs home and you could have all your statues and that other crap there.

It will take money for this to happen, so i'm not to fussed if it doesn't happen for a while as long as the club is financially stable, that will be the most important thing for the clubs future.
