To cap off an even more disapointing day.

Paartalu tweeted this to Geria.

Quote:
@jgeria all the best man! Buzzing!

In which Geria responded.

Quote:
@ErikPaartalu thanks brother sad to be leaving the boys but opportunity I had to take, all the best and take care man!!

If we lose him I'm going to be gutted. This kid is going to be a star.

Secondly why is this being discussed on social media?

So once Smith and Franjic return, I'd really like to see this.

Hingert Smith Don Franjic

Thoughts?

I think Stef will keep his place for now. But otherwise it certainly would be an idea.

I think we are all a bit harsh for Jurman too. Yes, he loses it at times, but he's actually a fairly good defender. If he can get some consistency and keep his head about him he'd make a pretty damn good defender in the future.

Stef has been one of our better players this season, I would only put him behind Franjic defensively but going forward is the better of the 3. The other two could learn a lot from his off-ball movement and positioning, especially when receiving, more often than not our attacks start with him because of it.

The problem I have with Stef is his lack of pace. That game against CCM was a good example of Stef being to slow for our game plan. I'd also suggest that Hingert has also been in better form. But anyway its good to have some depths in these positions.

Im starting to think we wont make top 4 this season. Very inconsistent performances and we seem to be a one half team at the moment. We starting very slowly and then we get very tired in the second half and dont actually get in to the game.

i wonder what Rado is doing at training, but it seems to be a bit problematic. What happened to the team that was gung ho for 90 minutes against the Victory and never gave the opposition an inch and always looked to attack and move forward?

What worries me about Jurman is that he is inconsistent, short of confidence and a liability to be honest. He made a couple of mistimed jumps against the Jets and was just lucky to clear the ball, otherwise Heskey was 1 on 1. At the moment, there are better options, he just needs to go back to training, play a few games at youth league level and then come back in and show us what he has got. I think our best 11 without Smith and ivan at the moment is:

Theo
Hingert (Franjic) Takahashi Donachie (Smith) Steff (Hingert)
Brats Mass
Broich
Fitzy Berisha Halloran

Players in brackets are positions when Ivan and Smith return.

I was close to the sideline for the NJ game and I can tell you Steff got skinned twice for pace early on by the NJ wing back in the first half. Both skins resulted in plays that could have been goals on another day.For once luck went our way.But it's happening regularly early on.

So is anyone going to actually realise that we need another striker and need to change our game plan and a few players need to be dropped. Ive been saying this for about a year now. Rado is a club legend, but he cant keep making silly decisions and we need things to chance.

I dont buy this thing that the Bakries dont have money as we certainly do. I want to see us go after a marquee coach and watch things change.

Suppose its not really a bad thing in a sense as AFC will only let us used AFC approved stadium which rules out Skilled Park or Dairy Farmers.

We wont get a big crowd to Suncorp for this too i dont fancy.

Yeah, you're probably right. Give up home advantage instead of get an alternative ground approved. Travel to Bangkok and then another 400ks to rural Thailand on the 13th, sandwiched between vital Sydney away and Wellington at home, a couple of days later, all knackered. Silly to consider having the play-off at Suncorp on Buriram's suggested date of 13/2 with only 10,000 or so turning up...

The thing is, you wouldnt get 10,000 turning up. AFC would not approve Dairy Farmers or Skilled Park in time or probably at all. I would love to have it at home, but it just wouldnt be viable for the Roar to play in front of 6/7 thousand at most i reckon, considering you have wellington coming too, people cant afford both and marketing is virtually none.

We managed to get 12K for our first game against Tokyo. So upwards of 10K was on the cards.

So, Z, what's the loose change left over - after the projected loss for keeping home advantage is set against getting the team to Buriram ($3000 x 20-25?) and A-League fatigue for the team? Priceless...

The club would not have just given the game away without going through the whole ins and outs and pros and cons. Ill have a chat to the media personel though and hopefully find out more.

He would go to a big euro club for loan.

What about Anelka for guest stint? That's more realistic.

We can speculate about players, i mean kewell would do very well for us i think, add a bit more pace to our play and interchange with Broich, but all im hearing from the Roar is they have absolutely no money.

Its all too confusing. The new owners were meant to be have enough funds to keep us very strong financially and apparently wanted to work all their clubs on the Brisbane philosophy.

Its also very annoying that a club of our stature does not seem to be making a move for these big players. We never know until we try. Why not make a play for Drogba or Kewell?

We have been short a striker and CB all season.Money presumably is an issue ,otherwise why would we have Do and Taka.A striker and CB.Personally with Donachie and Smith it seems we are in more need of some strike power or guile in the middle or upfront. This season scoring is the big problem.
The other obvious issue is what Rado is doing .Against MV our defence was hopeless .With MV moving through midfield with ease ,through what at times looked an unstructured rabble. The attack against what is still a vulnerable MV defence was equally insipid.
From what I have seen of all the teams so far,we really are close to where we belong on the table unfortunately.
In every game we have played so far,our bad luck has been balanced by good luck which otherwise would have seen the opposition score more goals.Apart from the games against MV and SFC ,there has not been one other game we deserved to win.
Bottom line is I have seen nothing to indicate we will be dominating any game.So I expect us to finish down the bottom.

We got Taka and Do because its the type of manager Rado is. He doesnt like to go for the big names apparently and often likes to look at younger players. Wenger of our league.

I also a agree with many of your points. We havent improved since our last two sesons. We seem to be sitting in this stagnant position and not looking to make any improvements or actually seek to make improvement.

Our build up play is very slow and we are losing out far too often in the middle.

We dont need another CB, we have Taka and Donachie who are more than capable of playing that role behind Ivan and Matt.

We need another central midfielder and a striker.

Would be nice if Mulvey grew a pair this weekend and stopped trying to stroke the egos of players who aren't committed to the cause. Would be happy to see both Paartalu and Fitzgerald dropped now. Their manager has outed both of them in the last couple of days as being on the way out. Time to look to the future and not pander to egos.
