If we are being realistic it's very unlikely to finish top. I think we should start to focus more on the ACL and our game plan for this Thai side. I'm not saying throw the season away as we can still qualify for the finals. But lets start peaking for that ACL clash. If certain players aren't going to be here for our ACL game they shouldn't playing for us.

Agreed roar_brisbane, we need to do a Adelaide. I think we can come 5th and 6th very much a possabilty, given how close things are. With the way the finals are structured now anything can really happen after.

I heard a rumor that we where getting Mooy in for ACL, anyone know if this is true? has WSW gave him an extension yet? I know who i want as a DM replacement :D

I agree we need to put our best 11 out there. We just seem to have a different idea about who warrants inclusion in it. Neither Paartalu nor Fitzgerald have the form on the board to make them indispensable.

The last time Paartalu was in our best 11 it was the Grand Final... and we were playing the Mariners.

Fitzy probably is though, difference is he still looks like he's trying.

I would really like to see this grub David O'Keefe stay as far as way as possible from our club. He seems to be a very toxic agent.

+1 to that mate. Sadly most of these guys are absolute scum. Just look at Khoder Nasser. I've seen pimps show more discretion in selling off their talent than he does with some of the players he represents.

I am a bit concerned at the moment.

We signed a centre back who lets face it, is not the best around. He played for a team that came last and conceded the most goal in the competition.

We have signed a midfielder who has a record of attitude problems. Something that plagued the club when Ange came in to control.

We have let go of the one of the best young talents in the country and word is we will let Brattan go to.

I sense a feeling of going back to the old Moore like days when egos ruled and the club was underachieving. Moore is around the club. He is at the games and all and is very close to Mulvey.

Im just concerned that we are not actually signing the right players and we are letting the wrong ones go.

I think a mini clean out is needed. Get a couple of new boys in here to shake things up.

I'm not a fan of North but he does bring some great experience to the club and should be a big help to our younger defenders.

Right now our defense looks quite strong for next year. North, Smith, Franjic, Stef, Hingert, Don and Brown. This should also mean Jurman will no longer be at the club.

Davies has a very good youth CV. He may have attitude problems but which 18 year olds don't? If he was 25 to 30 I would be concerned. But considering he is so young and would be on the cheap. He's worth a gamble.

I wouldn't call Fitzy one of the best young talents in the country as well. I still think Young Yeboah in the NYL is a much better player. Hopefully we give him a senior contract very soon.

Erik leaving is very good for us. He seems to have monumental attitude problems and doesn't give a stuff about anyone else but himself.

Brattan rumours were always going to surface at his age he needs to be playing each week. Seeing as Erik is leaving this may be his chance to cement his spot.

We will have two foreign spots very soon (Once Henrique is naturalized) Which will be a massive boost.

Well we need a clean out. Erik has to be gone ASAP.

What's the deal with the ACL playoff? Are you still playing the Thai team the day before playing us, or just the 13th?

Great that a few young boys have been locked in. Lusica* seem like a good player hope this loan helps his European career spring board, we’ll miss him when he leaves.

Well it is like getting your nails pulled out watching the roar at the moment, they either play well dominate and not score, or play the god awful game and win (or draw/lose in thailand). Mulvey appointment is a bit of WTF just after thailand proformance, good that it gives stability and the possability that he could be good. but a lot of feelings of he might be just all talk and no action and we have another fired coach on round 10 next season.

I think Nijland is still adjusting, his first game he came on with a tired team,he wanted to put in a good show. But i think now either he just wants to go home as he sees us as a shambles. But given i think he contract with PSV expires at the end of the season, he really got some pressure to show his goods to get a new contract. look a hersi showed some good things early on but took him most of the season to be a top player. we are a very physical and fit league, players from outside australia always comment on the fitness. he came mid season to a team down on confidence. As long as he continues making those penetrating runs and adjust to the speed of the game.

soo good to get a win, we really dominated and should have had 2 or 3 by half time ! top 6 !

because ballymore is falling apart for a start, its in the middle of a "swamp", also public transport is not crash hot as the only option is bus down a small narrow streets and there nothing else around it it, as in the middle of a residential area. Also its 4km from the city down 2 of the most busiest roads.

Suncorp is like a 10-20 minute walk from the city center, close to roma street and milton rd train station, has a bus station right under the stadium and then of course you got caxton street and park road for pre and post game food and drink. although a 15k crowd will look better at ballymore, as the other problem is that the camera faces where the stadium members sit, which obviously dont go to games, the western stand is normally pretty pack but you wont see it on tv. The facilities are awful at ballymore and i think will detract a few people from going. Suncorp is the best rectangle stadium in the country. there are no bad seats and you are close to field facilities are right up there. when full, ie the two grand finals, its amazing. when not so full 20-30k ie during RL or RU its also loud and intimidating once the fans get involved. also i think its to do with the effect mic positioning, because i go re watch games on tv and go it was way louder than this live.

Going to parramatta stadium for the semi final reminded me what ballymore was like (only one public transport option close by, poor facilities at the stadium) and how glad we got suncorp.

So it looks like Nijland has signed a three year deal with PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie.

man hardly any of the championship team left. its almost a new team now specially when murdocca leaves and no experience in the midfield which is hugely worring, maybe miller wont be a too bad if the rumor is true, but feel we could do better with our visa place.

we should really cut dong, although we lose a bit of cap space we make up for in visa place (unless i got my rules wrong). beside i can't see him being on to much coin or making it to first team, i prefer to have davies and yeboah playing than him. also move broich back into the cap and get a big name marque would be good.

our back 4 and front 3 are fine, with donachie and brown being back up ivan-besart broich front. but we are lacking some serious depth now, i hope we get some good signings or i can see this coming season going to shit again. I really don't think we should get rid of mass, specially by last season performance to say lustica who is basically invisible most games and then scores a goal or two. but you can see a big difference in the team when mass is on. I can see say a lambadaridis brattan DM pairing and a visa creative AM (totti :P).

Here's my take on it.

Goalkeepers:
Theo: Happy for him to stay No 1. Even if he has his issues.
Acton: Butter fingers every time I've seen him before a match.

Defenders:
Very strong defensively. We don't need anyone here. I expect Brown to become number one left back some time next season.

Midfield:
I think we can start round one with either Liftin or Lamba starting, I wouldn't be to concerned about that.

Brattan will be key for us next season.

If Mass leaves we need two more experience CM's. Hopefully one is Lustica [-o< , the other being a foreigner.

Forwards:
I'd keep DO for at least another season. He looked really good in that trial match and than had the next few months ruined with injuries before Mulvey took over. We should have two foreign spots If Henrique becomes an Aussie as well.

Now for the second foreign spot. Another striker to back up Bes. He will have to be versatile as well. CAM/Winger.


We will have a couple more squad spots and a senior NYL spot as well. Possibly raid some other A-league clubs for some cheap players. Maybe look at the NPL as well.

We should have a fair amount of cap space this season, so these two foreigners should be top quality.

Not so sure on a marquee at the moment.

that's why I would go with the orange shorts/socks. Arguably more orange over the whole kit then there is now. Away strip you could even go Orange/white with white shorts/socks
