Henrique surprised me on Saturday. He did quite well replacing Berisha. Was very happy with what i saw from Brown in his little cameo. We played extremely well though. My only qualm was at times not releasing the ball earlier when a player had made a run. Franjic has really come in to his own since his position change.

I agree - given the quality of ball he got Henrique was way off the pace. Berisha is a big loss.

In my opinion, Henrique hasn't been the same player since Farina was Roar coach or maybe Ange's first championship season. Surprised he's still with you guys and playing as big of a role as he does to be honest

Had to go three pages in to find a Roar related thread, just the way we like it, top of the table and flying under the radar

I see we signed Jai Ingham from Olympic. The kid looked quality in the NPL semi final.

With Henrique he's eligible for dual-citizenship now? Or he has already?!
But indeed, your team may well be evolving beyond his quality. And with his injuries and lack of football, he may well have slowed down a bit and even lost some form, hence him not being at his best?

Even though he did blow 3 or 4 chances last weekend, he still got himself into great positions which is encouraging. I'm not writing him off just yet but if more chances go begging while there's no Bes, Yeboah and Petratos will be tapping him on the shoulder.

He is a intelligent footballer and chases back for the whole 90. However, he is rather weak and has lost alot of pace, and isn't a fantastic finisher. I can see why people want him in the starting eleven but I'd prefer Yeboah to Henrique.

From the below recent Mulvey quote it's clear he doesn't want to bring in another striker yet just before he was hunting for an overage, two bob hoofball Brit import player in Murray (until the club blocked him), but it's all OK now according to Mickey. Quote:"One option was to bring in a centre forward but if you look at his history he plays most of the game so you don't want another scorer to sit on the bench so we got Liam Miller and Matty McKay to try and improve creativity in the final third. Still persisting without a decent back-up to Berisha is wrong. Henrique is reasonable, but not up to scratch. At least we have some local lads available instead of third rate imports. Miller is one of them. He's not pulling his weight like the rest of the team, underperforms and is a passenger. Fancy displacing a local with him. I hope Mickey Mulvey takes off his Union Jack glasses and sees the light. Edited by paulc: 25/10/2013 08:29:45 AM

Roar have shown some impressive early season form/results this early part of the season - reflected in their holding top position in the league! Hopefully the next home game hosting Wanderers draws another 20k+ crowd - hopefully even break the crowd figure (21k-ish) pulled the first home game hosting SFC?!
1st v 2nd, the teams that fought such a fantastic Semi-Final last season. Two standard bearers of the league, almost diametrically opposed playing styles or even flipside complimentary to produce a knock out, tactical battle.
It's Round 7's 'Match of the Round', on paper, that's for sure - And would be an added bonus to have that huge crowd on the TV, considering this fantastic contest is the live game on SBS!

A big crowd would be cracking but unrealistic. 14-15k is more realistic. I predicted the same for last game and turned out to be spot on. Unfortunately the timeslot of the game means many cannot attend! It's unfortunate we have to pander to the southern states but if our government got its head out of its ass we might have daylight saving like the rest of Australia and the civilised world!

We seem to be holding the ball well which is good. Also good to see we have some nice depth. Donachie and Brown did not do anything yesterday that suggested they should not be starters.
A bit concerned though at times with our complacency in defence. Also, we need to pull the trigger more. Often trying to walk it in or play that one more pass when we have chances to hit it. Yeboah lived up to the name with that strike. Net was bulging.

The Roar definitely needs to create more bulging:) And Thomas please when you have the ball look forward and smash it at the net if u are anywhere near the box and in midfield get rid of the ball before you get pushed over and lose it.Yesterday was not a good day.You lost the ball six times just from my counting.

Awesome news. \:d/ I'm a little surprised though as he has north and smith locked in for a couple more years. I really rate James and I can't see him seeing out his contract, he will be overseas by then.

Awesome news, firstly for signing a great young talent, secondly for ensuring a transfer fee if/when OS clubs come knocking in the next 3 years.

very pleased we've retained Donachie, he's slowly being considered a vital art of the squad and yet he has plenty more to give in coming years IMO.
and apparently Sebastian Usai is training with Brisbane at the moment, can anyone confirm? It would be interesting as I think Matt Acton is off contract at the end of the season. (i dont know if this has already been covered or not)

Hmm, I haven't heard anything, I wonder how good he is. To be truthful, I have never been completely happy with Theoklitos (refuse to use theo). Decent ball skills, really susceptible to long range shots in particular.

Last year he had a number of brain snaps, I seem to recall in one game him being a good 20m out of his box to contest the ball. Had Redmanye still been number 2, im sure Theo would have been dropped at that point.

Theoklitos is not a good shot stopper from close or long range really, just decent with the ball at his feet. Not that I particularly dislike him as a person or anything, I just really feel it is one area we can definitely strength.

The current team is in red-hot form. Miller and Stefanutto may struggle for game time when they return from injury. I think Mulvey needs to stick with this form team.
