Just wondering guys - One presumes that the news over the '$10k410k' campaign has muted somewhat due to the season being under-way, that's understandable... but given the additional stakes added to the cause, the monetary award for every thousandth threshold reached, it's then a slight worry that Roar announced on internal 'member channels' e.g. e-mail about hitting the '7k' mark but, unlike previous milestones, like 6k, they didn't announce it on any of their Social Media platforms?
Once again, I know their Social Media platforms appear to be taken up with A-League round build up, matchday coverage and post-match stuff but there's surely still room in that quiet period, mid-week, where 'news' is less, where they can sneak in a post about hitting the new milestone, which BTW equals a new 'CLUB RECORD' as far as I know, 7k being new territory for you guys, but ALSO, again, the associated mention of their being a winner of the $1k cash prize for being the seven thousandth member!
I hope they keep up that campaign and some publicity around it as it's been a confirmed success, despite they being a bit short of the goal. Roar are at record member levels now, especially for full members, and they really aren't THAT far off their initially ambitious 10k goal! Heck, for all we know Roar could end up with an amazing 8k or so members this season, in the wash up - that includes, admittedly, those 3-4 game passes available now?
That'd be a great achievement for Roar, from where they once were at and they could EASILY build on that towards 10k and even a little over, next season!

Thats a hell of a song? That's an infuriating song, though no doubt, an obvious, albeit obviously incidental, association. But heck, it's just another horrid pop song. But can't be worse than whatever else they play over the PA at present, and I suppose, atleast it's 'contemporary' with the kids? :-k  Heck, why not? Not bad idea actually, lol. Lyrics of the chorus, incidentally, match up pretty well? :-s  Roar ARE a Champion side, or have been and strive to be once more. :p lol I'd like to see 'The Den' try signing the chorus, collectively, especially the infuriating, 'oa, oo o-o oo, oaa, oo o-o oo!' lol j/ks Heck, SURELY the Ground Announcer at Suncorp plays it already, SURELY? It's just too obvious! :p Edited by gloryperth: 28/11/2013 03:52:12 AM

Can't remember where I read it but has Davies been released? I know he had attitude problems but career seems to have stalled massively

I had big hopes for him when he signed, he could be a star of the league if he gets his shit together.

Yea I can't remember where I heard it but I think he joined a club in Europe. @GP, Not a fan of the song and wouldn't want to sing it in the den. But it would probably go down well with the family end.

I have heard Julius Doe Davies is injured at present. No way he'd be completely frozen out of the squad.

From memory he can play at am or on either wing, you'd think with the injuries etc we have had then we would have seen him at some stage.

I for one am happy North is out. He hasn't impressed me at all in the last two games and Donachie has proven to be quite a quality replacement.

If he's still at the club, he's really fallen down the pecking order. A shame reallly as he looked like a good player.

Donachie has been making a shit load of silly mistakes since hes been in. North is a much better option if he can play like he has been up until the last couple of games imo.

I saw Donachie make one mistake. Other than that he looks more composed on the ball and seems to have better awareness of where his opponents are.

its been a perfect weekend for the roar, ccm and mv playing out a 0-0 and wsw dropping points to wellington, were full strength next week against adelaide and 3 clear of the wanderers.

We still have plenty of room for improvement. Im still not convinced. We not ruthless enough in the final third. Always trying to pass the ball in to the back of the net. We need to shoot a heck of a lot more.
We also need to up our pace especially when we break from the back. We too slow to get forward and often slow the ball down, by which time the opposition are back behind the ball and can get their shape.
We playing well, but we just dont have that killer instinct at the moment. We could easily have lost games that we won by being too toothless and wasteful up front. Dominated Perth the whole first half and yet they came closest to opening the scoring.
It is not the way we should be playing, we need to up things. Opportunity to become runaway leaders is right there, we need to make the most of it.

Doe just doesn't seem to be around the club at all, I know its not the best indication but he has stopped appearing in Instagram pictures with Brattan and Co and according to his instagram he was on Holiday about 3 weeks ago in Switzerland?

Trip to Switzerland could have been for some trials then maybe? It just seems weird a club would let a player leave during the season

Yeah it was Davies. I talked to him briefly, he said he has just been out with injuries and is looking forward to working his way back into first team contention soon.
