Bloody CCM didn't even turn up to play. Counter attack rubbish. I'm glad we don't play like that. Speaking of Petratos I love the way he's keen to have a crack at goal whenever he gets the chance. Maybe he can have a word in Broichy's ear.

In saying that, Petratos for me has been our standout. Im always confident when he has the ball. Keeps it well and moves around well too. At times yesterday we held on the ball too long and tried to run between too many players rather than pass and move.
I definitely think we still a bit lacking. First halves are generally slow from us and we need to come from behind. We should be killing teams of with our style. We need to up the pace from defence to attack transition. Other than that, not much else is going wrong.
Oh, except North. That guy needs to benched for Donachie. This is where we really miss McKay and Franjic. But saying that, we are still getting results even without them and in previous weeks without Bes, miller to. Mulvey has handled the mass injuries very well.

The only player injury i worry about is Brioch, history shows that we can not play without him. Knowing how WSW play i have a bad feeling brioch is going to be hacked off the park. If i was mulvey i would do a press conference the refs need to do more to protect players.

With Lustica signing, how does everyone see the roar best XI lining up? To me, we appear to have an embarrassment of riches and some young players may be squeezed out at season' end unfortunately.
This is how I see Mulvey's best XI:
Theo
Franjic North Smith Stef
McKay Brattan Lustica
Petratos Berisha Broich
Subs: Miller, Solo, Hingert, Henrique, Acton.
Unfortunately, that leaves talented youngsters like Donachie, Borello, Brown and Clut on the outer, as well as Ferreira. However, injuries will come, and it is nice to have some depth for a change.

Bang on the money. If Brattan goes at season's end then Miller will fill the vacant spot. Lustica is an inventive attacking mid and much better suited to where Miller plays now. Alternative a complete new taller and imposing replacement for Brattan and Miller at CM is on the cards.

.......................theo
..............smith.......north franjic................................steff ....................brattan .............mckay.......miller Petratos...........................broich ....................turncoat
bench: acton, solo, henrique, lustica, donachie.
center mid trio have been dominating the league so far, would be silly to break them up. Lustica will be fantastic cover for all three though.

Splitting up the 3 mids was not a problem earlier on. We snotted teams big time then too. Franjic was great in mid as will Lustica be if and when needed. It's when there are 2 of the 3 players that are inexperienced is when we come unstuck. I'm mostly exited about the fact that this will be the most complete squad I've ever seen the Roar have. With a generally accepted 1st team lineup as below ......................theo
..............smith.......north franjic................................steff ....................brattan .............mckay.......miller Petratos...........................broich ....................turncoat
Surely we must come close now to having a reserve team that could hold its own? ....................acton ....... donachie..... hingert ....brown..................??????? ................ingham .........clut ............ferreira ............lambadaridis ..henrique ..........solorzano

Miller Miller- Miller- Miller - Miller Miller - Miller - Miller Miller - Miller - Miller
Paulc worst nightmare.
We are getting some excellent depth, Its a situation where i am not even bothered with brattan leaving. Hopefully Lamba comes back strong after his injury to provide a bigger stronger midfield player, i thought he would be pushing for a starting place this year if he wasn't injured.

When not a passenger, playing well and matching the effort and competency of the other players, I don't have an issue with Miller. Provided he's not taking the place of a young Aussie of equal talent who has a long future at the club at a quarter of the price. Would Lustica be such a player?

Yep the fully fit first team lineup is as you describe. Reserves team could look like this atm: Acton Hingert - Donachie - Ferriera - Brown Clut - Lustica - Borrello Henrique - Solorzano - Ingham That is ignoring Doe who seems to have fallen off the face of the planet, and of course Lambadridis and Danning as long term injuries. Only one not in a preferred position would be Ferriera so maybe him out to right back and Hingert CB or a NYL player in. Honestly that team would give a good account of itself.

I think people forget how good lamba is, his technique is brilliant and he lopes around a bit like Rogic, he is really lovely to watch. I can't wait until he comes back.

I'd rather North and Steff go, obviously Steff won't with a new deal being signed but I think Donachie and Brown need more game time. They shouldn't be sitting out for guys who are due to retire soon.
Plus North has been responsible for us conceding some sloppy goals this season. He shouldn't be for someone of his age/experience.
