I'll give you guys an overview if you want.
I thought we played really well and the massive result just came down to how good we were. because I personally thought the MB Jets were actually pretty good, nice passing football with great looking strikers. I always thought that once we got the first goal the flood gates were going to open and the jets just couldn't hold us out. In regards to our set up Henrique was centre forward Petratos and broich on the wings lustica, clut and liftin midfield ect... Broich was coming in behind a lot and swapping positions with both henrique and petratos so he would be the false nine and henrique would be supplying him, a big reason why him and henrique were scoring. That was the favourite part for me, how we were able to rotate so fluently without missing a beat on most occasions (and this is only the first preseason game) also creates mass confusion when you don't know who to mark with no Berisha there. Also Petratos was very good, he has really worked on his role this offseason and seems to pretty much understand what he has to do on the wing now, where as last year he got a bit lost. Shout out to Ben Liftin who was playing in Brattan's position did not miss a beat and is only 19, creative and calm in such a difficult position.
Only negative for me tonight was the defence (as silly as that sounds) more to do with the collectively defending rather then the back four when the team lost the ball in the middle of the park I felt it was to easy for the jets to stream forward. Donachie was also at fault for that 1 goal being scored. Still a bit shaky but I expected that. Still plenty to improve on and won't see the full product without seeing Kurtishi up front. o:)

Thought Litfin was central to most good things that Roar did with the ball last night. Happy to receive under pressure and very good decisions when in possession.

Totally disagree, thought he was probably the Roar's worst player. Gave away some shocking passes just outside his own box that better players would punish. Brattan is obviously first choice, but between Lustica, Lambadaridis & McKay; I highly doubt Liftin will get any game time.

Edited by Mfrendin_Roar: 30/7/2014 11:19:54 PM I'll offer a differing opinion, I thought Liftin was way out of his depth. If that had been a game against A-Leafue opposition we would have been severely punished. He didn't read the game very well at all and lunged in on players who skipped around him, granted they didn't have the awareness or players around them once they got past him buty a decent number 10 would have run rings around him. Lots of positives from the game, Broich looks imperious, Henrique looks to have a found a yard of pace, Donachie was great oncluding a great clearing header (Theo had a few brainsnaps), MIller came off after 25 minutes and CLut replaced him and made a huge difference to our shape, that's when the goals started going in.

But the way he's progressing I think he did very well.
