He looked better when he was sitting deeper and Clut and Lustica were running the show, but the reason he looked better was because he was hardly getting the ball imo. He did OK, but he's well behind the standard set.

No, bench was new keeper, Clut, Borello, Brown and JCS all of whom got a run. It's a bit concerning that Henrique was able to get 4 goals and many more chances and JCS didn't even register a shot on goal.

Lamba, Kofi and some others (NYL?) were sitting near us in the stands.

i'm sure JCS at least hit one shot into a defender

could have been 15 goals but Broich and Petratos were very generous with some misses

Apart from the game itself, Ballymore as a ground has pros and cons. The Ground itself is indeed need of some love but it has a really nice feel too it. The pitch was in great condition. Such a shame that its in the middle of nowhere with no pubs and no public transport.

Would love to see it with packed stands and the den on the hill. Unfortunately you would need to park about 4kms away if you arrived within an hour of kickoff.

I never buy memberships as I don't like to be too close to those beer throwing rowdy lot (as much as I admire them), however this season may be an exception and I will buy two just to hand out to family or friends who want to use them.

You know you can guy memberships away from the Den right?

I renewed both my and my wife's memberships, even though she won't be coming to many games. Same logic as you, I'll just use it to bring mates who wouldn't otherwise go.

Just don't get your tickets in the middle of the western stand behind the dug outs, that's pretty crowded with all members, get tickets any place else and you be fine to "sneak" friends in, the stadium is half empty don't forget.

There is a game on Tuesday vs Redlands at Ballymore .

Why is it at Ballymore? It's great that Roar are vs a local team, but why aren't they playing at Redlands? They would get a great turn out and the kids would love being just meters from the players.

Yea, just saw that. Honestly not sure, still don't know about the tournament yet etc. Really happy, heading down for the game.

I'm not sure of its current state, but the Redlands main pitch is normally one of the best in Brisbane.

You're not wrong. I've played there. It's like playing on carpet or a lawn bowls pitch.

Went to Struddy's today and had a chat to old mate about the new Brisbane Roar kit and when they'd be getting them. He tells me that because they're an Umbro kit and they're not an official supplier that they can't stock them. I think he mentioned that Rebel will be stocking them.

I said "that's a bit shit" and he was happy to agree. Said they used to sell heaps of the Roar shirts.

WTF? Surely you want them in every store you can put them. There's no Rebel within 30 minutes of where I am. What a joke.

Another Strikers player the Roar should be keeping an eye on is Coulsen, he's 18 I think and played at LB on Tuesday. He is definitely not a Lb as you could tell from his performance there, he is actually a very smart and quality AM / striker. I'm not sure why he played at LB and if that's a regular thing, but from seeing him first hand through school football, he loves to get the ball in the final third and pull the strings. I guess you saw a tiny glimpse of his quality with the nice little run into the box for his winning goal.

Yes I remember him.His game would be great if he could cross the ball.Unfortunately he was really bad at that. But sure he did a lot of good thing, including great control for the goal..Needs to get out on the paddock and practice hitting hundreds of crosses.

He wouldn't normally need to cross a ball while playing CM or striker. But his crosses in from set pieces weren't bad.

I just hope for their next cup game he plays in his normal position so he can show off what he's capable of.
