I think he is talking about Sarota, fairly certain he's still highly rated at Utrecht regardless of the fact he hasn't played much at the start of the new season

Nailed it - he's highly rated but he also needs game time after a long absence with injury.

One will probably be Patafta.

Miracle signing.... Robbie Kruse is looking for a loan club, right? Haha

Bulut - Done nothing overseas and a terrible image
Ruka - Has a terrible touch and would be as big a misfit as Ben Halloran was
Troisi- No chance

You are all missing the obvious one and he plays in midfield overseas

Misfit Ben Halloran ..... The Socceroo who just played at a WC Ben Halloran ? :-k

And who is the obvious one?

Yes he absolutely was a misfit at The Roar he had no grasp of the system at all. In a different system and environment he has done well but he never looked likely when he was with us.

Think Holland, Think World Cup, Think Local - thats the last hints you get!!!!

No one played well when Ben was there. Young inexperienced guy coming into a club that was struggling on and off the field, it's no wonder he found it hard to settle.

I still reckon he was a bimbo at Roar and find it difficult to change my mind based on a few minutes at the WC.

Could be a dud call by Ange.

Hmm interesting. I wonder if Roar and Utrecht have any special arrangement, club relationship, after Utrecht uniquely signed three of Roar's players at once? Though the ownership changed since then - none the less, anotehr vote of confidence in the A-League. The lower intensity, greater recuperation between games etc.. aswell as familiar league/club, may be seen as an ideal setting to transition back into some regular football?

I just wonder - how on Earth will they fit Sarota into their midfield? I guess, given they have Brattan, McKay, Miller and Lustica - Sarota may well have to force/transition his way into the XI? Less there's a simple/obvious switch I've overlooked? :-k

Whoever it is, the sooner they come, the better - because as the clock ticks by and this A-League pre-season finally enters into the final stage, current squaddies will be adjusting and staking a firm claim, with growing match fitness, while - as always - the later arrivals end up with alot of catching up to do and perhaps greater difficulty of breaking into the side come early into the season, especially a successful side like Roar?

Well the picture they used was pretty small, looking at the newspaper now its a lot clearer. The Stitching for starters makes it better, but until we see it in person we cant judge. But it seems you will hate it no matter what ;).

Sarota can play in the front third.I remember one game he played for the Socceroos as a substitute and he played as a striker and was a handful with his good ball control.

Interdasting. I like Brown going forward, so it'll be interesting to see how he goes with less defensive responsibilities.

Pretty good ball striking but i think we will see him getting around the outside and cutting balls back in the box. Hope the right back has got some pace.

If he's got good ball control then the mid is perfect for him in place of someone who has no ball control and is a foreigner.

He sounds like the right choice if it is Sarota. Also great to hear we're looking for a striker and a mid.

I reckon that would work as an option too.

If it does become permanent, who do we have to prime to place in Stef's role when he eventually departs? It doesn't sound Mulvey feels too safe with Brown at left back and I can understand why.

Good question. Jordan Lampard has played l/b for the youth team 8 or 9 times last season and while i think he is a good player i dont think he is a full back.

Donachie has played well on the right, maybe he can play on the left too?
But we are light on for full backs.Hingert will get injured during the season.Just as night follows day.Bowles as an option is a nightmare. He is ok going forward but defensively is poor.I remember a game for AU where he cost them two goals.
Maybe that fellow from Olympic will be an option if he gets picked up.

Donachie has a not so good left foot and seems a tad risky for my liking at RB let alone LB. Probably why Mulvey has never played him there.

It seems whilst we focus on the mid and striker situation the real problem lies at LB. Unless of course Stef fires up this season but that's unlikely due to his ageing body.
