Wouldnt mind Nagai actually

Really got enough wingers, not sure if Nagai is an out and out striker we need.

Surely bowels and kurtishi hasn't taken up all the bes and ivans money. We could move broich into the cap with miller gone. Although we have resigned brats and petrat.

Ricky for me is a bench player,
I hope Danning has improved since his last stint or else he is nothing more then a squaddie
Borello is more of a striker
and Brown is inexperienced and yet to prove himself.

So to me the winger stocks arent looking the best.

The problem with asian imports is that you invariably pay over the odds for them which is critical in a salary-capped league. Anyone who thinks they can get a top drawer Asian player within the cap are dreaming. So unless you make them your marquee, you'll end up with a serious cap problem. Even then, there are most likely better value for money marquees floating around...

Mulvey, Smith, Kearton etc. Playing Young what a disgrace and poor standard he is. Oh that's right, he played in England. I can now understand why Miller was contracted. What a f@cking waste of space at the expense of a born and bread locals.

I've predicted these things all last season and will say here and now Kurtishi has and will be a flop too. The Roar system of overlapping wing backs is gone out the door so it's back to the future.

Other than predictable substitutions no matter the circumstances, what is the back up plan Mickey?

I love u dude but Young was born in Brisbane

I know that man, but I said "played" in England (which he has most of his career), not born in England. ;)

The problems Roar are facing at the moment:

1. Mulvey tactically stagnant and predictable
2. Kurtishi is a dud (3 games is enough for me to make that prediction)
3. If Hingert is not the answer to the RB role then we have a problem as Donachie is not the solution.
4. We don't have a suitable replacement for Stefanutto
5. The club - not picking up a big name quality marquee.

The midfield is the least of our concern now that Miller has gone.

Number 5 is more of a Sydney thing. We've never really gone for big names.

Marco has an article in tomorrow's paper interviewing Fong in which it states they're chasing an Asian marquee.

I would expect nobody short of Honda.

I wonder if they can move into the cap, bit odd to say looking for a marquee.

No we won't get Honda given that he the best player in the serie a at the moment. Knowing us we will probably get some korean high school student.

With Miller gone and ACL commitments it makes sense to get one of those technically gifted asian right backs that can run all day and never loses the ball.

So on 4MMM I heard an advertisement for the weekend game against MC.

Last opportunity to see David Villa apparently.
Hmmmm could be some unhappy casuals at the game.

Miller spits the dummy!

Brisbane Roar v Melbourne City: Match preview
Brisbane Roar v Melbourne City: Match preview
FORMER Brisbane Roar midfielder Liam Miller wants to clear the air after his shock exit from the A-League club last week.
The former Celtic, Manchester United and Republic of Ireland midfielder was annoyed with reports declaring he was injured and that he refused to play for Roar’s youth team the day after Brisbane lost to Sydney FC 2-0 at Suncorp Stadium on October 25.
“I played the first game of the season (against Adelaide United 1-2) and the manager (Mike Mulvey) then dropped me for the second game and the third game,’’ Miller said.
“In those two weeks he didn’t come to me with any explanation as to why I was dropped which I found unprofessional and disrespectful and when I asked him he couldn’t give me a valid reason, claims made by him now that I had an ongoing calf problem are completely false.
“After the Sydney game the following morning I met him at the pool recovery.
“I told him straight I wanted my contract terminated immediately.
“I told him there and then I had played my last game under him. He said “I take it your not going to play the youth game then and I said “no.”
“I spoke to the CEO (Sean Dobson) and explained the situation to him.
“We had a long chat and he was very understanding
“He said have a think about it and “come and see me on Monday”
“He asked me again to reconsider on Monday but by then my mind had been made up.
“ (Dobson) signed the termination and it was done.
“There was no communication from the manager whatsoever.
“I had been disrespected and that was enough for me to leave, simple as that.”
Miller, 33, was an integral part of winning Roar’s impressive double last season playing 24 matches and scoring three goals after making a move from Perth Glory.
The Irishman is currently in Asia taking time out to reflect on his next career move.
Miller wouldn’t reveal what the future holds.

Let see, ordinary first game and sub off at the 60th minute. No impact when sub on in the second game. 3rd game unused. I think he already answered why you weren't being played. It seems so minor, droped for 2 games. It doesn't seem to be enough, otherwise its more unprofessional behavior from miller than mulvey.

Wouldn't be the first time Mulvey has forced a player out. Proia had very similad criticisms of the way he was treated by him.

That said both could be little shits or Mulvey could be the problem. You'll never know.

Rant time, ill try to make spaces lol.

After he left, yep gave him respect for last season and wished him well.

But after this shit, oh man. I went to 90% of the pre seasons games and Miller looked shit to say the least, its hard to tell when others look shit, but he looked worse than the rest. So him even getting picked for the first game was a shock to me.

His quote "In those two weeks he didn't come to me with any explanation as to why I was dropped which I found unprofessional and disrespectful and when I asked him he couldn't give me a valid reason...

To me that sounds like Mike gave him a reason but Miller didn't like it, if you look at his past overseas history it has been the same, I remember one at Hibernian, quote

New manager Colin Calderwood signed three new midfielders in January 2011 left Miller out of the starting lineup for two games soon afterwards] Calderwood expressed hope that improved results would bring better form out of Miller, who he described as a top-level player Miller expressed a desire to stay at Hibs in March 2011, but the two parties did not agree a new contact, which allowed him to leave the club.

It really just sounds like Miller thinks he is more than he is, cant handle pressure from other players taking his spot and had a sook and left.

Good luck in Malaysia.

The history lesson bring it into prospective. Still living off his Man Utd glory days.

Be interesting to see how the team performs after hes gone. I would imagine he would be an unsettling force in the squad. Yet to be know if this is the only problem we will see tomorrow night.

But looking at how the teams are performing, you go to say that heart, newcastle and CCM are not looking good at all. When you see AU, SFC, MV, Nix and PG playing well. It means us and WSW will be fighting it out to make the final place in the 6. I am not to confident that we will now, as wsw form has been due to the asian cup and followed by tough away trips.

All right first game we should have got a draw, 2nd Perth draw or a win. So 2 points or 4, just unlucky with Donachie. Sydney we were just utter shit. This game i think will be good, most fans are expecting a shit game but with 2 weeks off we will be even more shit

Kurtishi has been moved to the bench with ricky moving centrally and petratos back on the wing. I think it fair enough that kurtishi is droped, other than a goal hasn't really put in that much just yet. I always have mixed feelings about ricky starting, its just that he is so good coming off the bench, it is negated when he starts against freash defenders.

I would of liked to see petratos central or borello. Also i think we need to take a page out of AU book and have danning or someone quick on the wing to use a long ball for.

I hope we have changed from the play out from the back at all cost because it is suicide and the main reason why we are going so bad.

Annoyed Kurtishi got dropped to the bench, has had shit service other than the ricky pass and tap in. Different type of player to Bes, likes to pass more, thats why id love to see him behind ricky, but it aint happening.

Petrat or Borrello central i would love to see with danning on the wing.

That Sydney game still gives me nightmares lol, In trouble just BOOT IT!
