Yeah, no.... that would be very bad. last thing we need is a fresh coach. As far as i know its the coach from Auckland city, haven't heard anything else yet.

would people agree that we should be looking for another CB, LB, another cm, two forwards?

There is only limited wiggle room because it seems Sarota and Steffanuto will be the only two noticeable departures that could free up any cap space. But, actually don't think we need to make too many signings in the off-season:

GK: Young was good last night but was shaky up until the last few rounds. Theo will be a welcome return.

CB: Depth at CB was pushed after departure of Smith and then North getting injured. However next season a fully recovered North and De Vere will form a good partnership. Donachie adds good depth as a 3rd CB, while Bowles and Jackson can do the job if needed lower down the pecking order.

RB: Polenz looks steady-enough at RB, with Hingert and Bowles providing cover if needed.

LB: Don't rate Brown in the slightest, so we could do with another LB to challenge him at the very least.

DM/CM: More than enough quality at here with McKay, Brattan, Lucstica and Clut. Maybe we can resign Lamba on near-minimum wage as extra cover.

RW: Borello, Henqirue or even Solorzano are all fine on the right wing.

LW: Broich hopefully has better luck with injuries next term. If Petratos can find good form, he also provides good cover.

ST: Kaluđerović looks promising. Solorzano and Henrique, or maybe even Borello could step in. And Yango looks very quick too.

Therefore, it looks like we would have the strongest starting XI in the league at this stage:

Theo
Polenz - North - De Vere - New LB
Brattan - Lustica
Borello - McKay - Broich
Kaluđerović

Bench: Young, Donachie, Clut, Henrique and Solorzano

Further cover: Hingert, Bowles, Petratos, Brown, Jackson + youth players.

Main conclusions:
- Would love to have Franjic back but don't think we have the cap space or need for him (since we have an abundance of players on the right).
- Our Extra Visa spot should go to a new experienced LB
- We could do with another CM to fill the role that Sarota was supposed to do this year. Jackson Irvine and Mustafa Amini come to mind. Isn't Murdocca off contract too?
- Looks like there is a few clean-outs going through some clubs so perhaps we could pick up some players on the cheap that could act as extra cover, a la Zac Anderson, Andrew Nabbout, etc.

I just don't want to go into the trap a few season ago, when we went no we are fine (think it was rado season), but we really needed freash blood. It is always important to bring in new players to keep people on there toes. I wouldn't touch nabbout. We got Brady, Irvene and Yango. I think we can get some players on the cheap with the clean outs, but going how our youth team went, i would prefer to use them.

But i guess, it is a situation of putting the cart in front of the horse. First thing is we need a coach. Hopefully they will say something after Tuesday game.

Excellent analysis. Would have liked to see Lustica play yesterday. MOM in the last 3 games and 5 goals in the last six. Changed the game in last seasons grand final.
Brisbane will be lucky to hold onto him. Sarota, petratos, brown a disaster this season.

The challenge for Roar and all the other bottom dwellars is to raise the bar and challenge the top teams.
Roar in particular had a very poor record against the top teams.
The current Roar squad is short some quality players to push the team to the top.
The young players have potential, but as we saw last night ,they are loaded with errors which prove costly against teams with quality finishers.
Based on last nights game SFC and MV are ahead of the rest and AU wont progress.
Brisbane need to improve there goal scoring and at the back need to stop the costly errors.
I'm still not convinced about our latest striker. But without a full preseason it's always difficult to judge.
I doubt there are few here that would deny that ROAR with Berisha would be more lethal than they are now.Which suggests we shouldn't stop looking for better options.
We also need a good strong defensive midfielder to balance the rather small midfield we currently have.
it's no coincidence the MV and SFC have a much stronger midfielder than Roar and AU and look much more solid
Left back is a glaring problem, with Brown still unable to stop the errors which are costing us games.
Polenz has his good and bad moments.I doubt he is better than Franjic.
So there we have it ,Berisha,Franjic and Steff at his best have not been replaced by equal or better players.
Add to that aging marquees and the new coach will have a challenge to lift us to the top.

really our back four are ordinary but we are as good if not better than every other team in the comp on the rest of the comp
A full preseason with donaghie devere hingert and polenz and we have a chance of having a strong back 4

Predictions for the off season/transfers?

Obviously it looks like we've signed the spanish Auckland City coach but after this season it's hard to for me to trust the Bakries judgement...

Stefanutto is 35, slow and injury time to move on.

Yep, Brown hasn't improved at all even with an extended run, left back is one spot we really need to sure up.

I think Dimi has to go, he's been woeful this season, if Henrique stays fit he's defs right wing next season with Andrija up top.

read on twittter that zullo will not resign with Utrecht* he would be a good signing( if fit) to replace steff and can also play up the park as a back up to broich

there is articles on zullo so it is true, definetly won't say no to him. Also having the versatility to play in a forward position as well is a good thing. I wouldn't have ricky starting, Borello should be starting now, ricky should be impact sub where he is at his best.

Would be great if we can get zullo, not sure about wages though. I think we're still to re-sign Andrija and Borello? Who else is off contract?

I think it's time for Dimi to go, he's just not a-league standard and the idea of him taking game time off Clut really worries me. Clut and Borello have earned an important place next season, especially Clut. He's technical and smart and could be an absolute gem.

A genuine holding midfielder and a left back could see us challenging again next season.

Godammit I thought the game was tomorrow night!

Agree re: Borello starting over Henrique although the next coach will have to implement a much more intense pre-season I reckon, Borello fades something chronic and that can only be put down to conditioning.
A Paartalu style holding midfielder would be great because we've gone back to the old system (Mckay/Massimo) in midfield with small like for like players in Mckay and Lustica. Have to say though Lustica has really stood tall in the second half of this season.

Whilst I love Broich as a player, there is no way he should have marquee status next year. He is getting older and slower. He still has the class, however, and we need his impact more later in the games. Therefore he should be paid less, which would allow us to bring in a genuine 90 minute marquee.

Agree that Clut should/could step up to fill the void next year.
