Good to see Petratos and Brown scoring. Might give them confidence going into the season.

A good chance of avoiding wooden spoon at least.

I'm convinced that's got Central Coast written all over it ;)

If the off-field stuff was settled I would be quite confident with this season. Unlike other teams from our youth to senior teams are filled with players that have won things. Our youth team has pretty much dominated the last 5 years.

My biggest complaint with Aloisi was that we came out in the 2nd half very flat so it's good to see us score our 3 goals in the 2nd half.

The quality of the players is good but he needs to add some depth - Corona will only bring Roar up to the minimum 20 squad members. A right side of Petratos/Borrello is hardly inspiring so add in Corona will drop Petratos to the bench at best and then a right-sided forward/winger will balance the attack better.

Anyone know what's happening with Brattan. Before the game last night garb said that his signing for mc is pretty much done. It's just that where is he going in loan. Isn't melbourne city roster full? Pretty piss to see him at heart.

I thought A-League clubs were not allowed to do that, since the FFA stopped us from doing the same with Berisha and one of the Bakries other clubs at the time etc?

To be fair nobody knows, Jade North tweeted "good luck in Romania" shortly after he left so it's possible that's where he's loaned out to - it's a common practice and doesn't have to be a club under their control. It would not seem right if he came back to the HAL tbh

The other question is of course what's going on with his replacement, my Corona?

Always possible - I don't sed him as being good enough for the EPL ever so the most likely destination is after one season figuring that out is Melb City

So, we havd the Supporters forum on Wednesday night at the brewary - nice venue - a Bakrie rep and the FFA both in attendance. I have to say I'm a little surprised they're doing this -- what can they possibly say or do that won't anger fans?

At the moment I think all we're looking for is action - pay the debts, end the bullshit, invest in the team, get them performing on the park week in week out .... then let's talk!!!

He'll be getting loaned to Melbourne.

The loan rule with Bes was the 'parent club' would pay him ~400k but Roar would only pay ~50k of that so hed still be under the cap (like what MV did with Rogic and Troisi).

As was mentioned in another thread, Man City can easily circumvent this by having his salary being only, say, £50k, but at the start/end of each season paying him a massive bonus before/after his loan has expired (so wont count against the cap if they just give him a mil in bonus cash before his loan starts).

Tossing up whether or not to go. Not that interested in listening to the bullshit whichever Bakrie rep attends spews out of their mouth. Might just wait for updates on forums.

Interesting that Bozza is attending - has always been vocal at other club's fan forums in the past from what I've read. I know Vince Rugari will be there as well and he will actually try and get some goss, not just report what the Bakries feed him in morsels like Marco.

to tweet and wish Bratten all the best in Romania.

If bozza going is going that worth the price of admission. I wasn't planning on going but if bozza there at least it makes it far more interesting than bakeries taking a dump on my ears.

Is a solid selfie opportunity. Not confirmed he is going, last I heard was that "its very likely". Just a bit of scheduling and shit around it to do. Fox probably wants a presence there as well if there is half a chance to grill Bakries/FFA.

Feel bad for poor JA having to sit there and nod his head along to whatever shit they say. I've found his post-game showings quite encouraging in terms of being willing to chat to fans and 'media' for extended periods of time.

There are several interesting things in this article ......

First is that it seems very odd that Corona doesn't sound like a done-deal yet despite what's being said in Spain. Odd?

Then there's the statement that "Roar have two visa spots open" which means one of Polenz, Solerzano, Broich or Henrique has become an Australian national - most likely the latter as he was applying for his in January although Broich is past five years in Aus now. This means Roar could be signing two foreign players not just Corona? And possibly a third in January if Broich follows the same path?

And then for the first time someone at Roar has commented on the Theo v Young situation and it looks like they are happy to keep both which again is odd, the normal goalkeeping 1-2 is a senior GK backed up by a junior "good enough" to step in if needed, rare to keep two quality GKs in the HAL?

I think Aloisi is just making sure not to jump the gun until Corona has officially signed in case it doesn't go through etc. Most likely would be the fish, feels like we have been talking about his citizenship for years now. Yea it will be weird having two top keepers, They both have an edge over the other in certain areas. I could see either one getting pissed off sitting on the bench the whole season and it would stupid to swap keepers every third game.

I can see Theo going. He definitely at the wrong side of 30. He got a broken wrist which is not going to be as strong. His reflex time I'd increasing. Look at Eugene there has been a noticeable difference. Young is 28 and we are turning him into a sweeper keeper and he's got a good 5 years left. Theo is 1 or 2.

Theo is 35 and contracted for 2 more seasons, Young just turned 30 and is out of contract at the end of the coming season, I personally think Young is the No. 1 alas Theo also has a decent size kids coaching business in Brisbane so I doubt he'd want to move away from Brisbane because if that - Roar I suspect will have to carry him to the end of his contract.

Presser tomorrow so they have something to point at on Wednesday night saying progress has been made.

We will then probably enter the season and hear the classic, "We were pursuing players but we just couldnt get them over the line in time" type shit.

Corona arrived in Brisbane today and is set to play against Wanderers. Odd the club haven't announced anything imo

Presser tomorrow so they have something to point at on Wednesday night saying progress has been made.

We will then probably enter the season and hear the classic, "We were pursuing players but we just couldnt get them over the line in time" type shit.

lol - you're probably right although they did sound confident on a second signing. However, with the Bakries it's always action not words to judge them on ...

Cheers.

Man broich still showing his class. CCM where pretty ordinary though.
Although we really need to look for the offside, few miss chances and probably 1 of the goals.

For some reason, I dont know why, Im just not very confident going into this season. Maybe its just to do with the off field dramas idk.

Ive completely ruled out having a genuine chance at silverware and think we may just be a middle of the pack team this season.

My main issue is JA. I'm not convinced yet.

Alot of people have us placing near the bottom, including myself. I hope others, and I, are wrong.

Aloisi as head coach should have been our major topic of conversation over the winter, obviously other events have overtaken that. Personally I think he's shown real leadership during the crisis but he's hired to make the team perform which is what he'll be judged on. I think if you picked a number randomly between 1 and 10 you've as much chance of predicting Roars final league position as the best analysis will do! Personally I think 7-10 is too low, top 2 too high, so yes maybe a mid table finish 3-6 ?

Fair enough on his leadership during the crisis (not turning up to the meeting though?), but he's shown nothing but complete failure as a manager of a first team squad. I'm all for second chances and look forward to what he can come up with, but it's a worry - let's remember in his last season at Heart he didn't win a single game. Here's hoping he doesn't put you guys into deep shit like he did with Heart.
