Aloisi will lose all credibility if he is resigned. Big questions with the release of clut. I get the feeling the relationship with him was very icey, clearly they didn't get along. But cluts been a creative am that we been wanting who cares he can't defend that is not his job.

But that rumour is getting stronger by the day.

Towards the end of the season Aloisi put both Oar and Ricky on the bench together, both can be considered attackers not defensive, so putting Clut on there at the same time would have been out of the Kevin Keegan book of coaching; I personally hope Hervas doesn't stay but I think there's a good chance he will - someone seems to see something fans don't.

I hope to be proven wrong with hervas. But most of the time visa player either hit it off right away or bit slow burner but by the end of the season they are great. Hervas seemed to go backwards. Started pretty good but got worse. Maybe it's to do with petrat form early on. So he never got a chance.

I'm with you on this - I also ghink coronas early form got roar fans excited about another Spanish player. To be honest he's only had two bad games, both times he was played on the right which clearly he can't cope with

One thing that has to be questioned is Aloisi's recruitment. Why do you recruit a left sided midfielder when McKay is already covering that position and Broich is also a left sided midfielder or attacker.?Let's not forget Ricky plays well up front ,left or right. Then why do you recruit Oar,when there is no place for him to play his best position? Why is Corona playing as a deep six when he prefers to play 8 and Bratten was earmarked to play 8 before he left? Next season Roar will have a playoff for the third ACL spot. I hope we consider an Asian visa player and Hervas is not the third visa player behind Corona and Broich. A proper DM with height would be good along with a second larger striker option who can head the ball.

Hervas though was signed purely because he was available not in any belief he was who we were looking for. Aloisi has to prove he can sign good players continuously - Maclaren and Corona offer hope but now he needs 4 more like them. (Looks like Solorzano is leaving today if Twitter is correct)

He's good enough for the Hal alright. There is another option to play 4-3-1-2 with Broich as a 10 with D'aggers and McLaren as the front two

Officially announced this arvo that Solorzano is leaving. That's a good call, he's a good bloke but he needs a change as much as we need the visa slot

Sad in a way to see Solo go.He was a good player who scored when he got a run in the team. Unfortunately he was injured too much and couldn't find form from the bench. Good luck to him. There are far worse players around the HAL then him.

Where can we improve next season?
DeVere will be better than Donachie Recruit a LB better than Brown Petratos needs to improve 10% (better decision making and a few more goals) Borello needs to improve 10% + 5 more goals at least (or recruit another goalscorer)
Unfortunately, Oar will never be better than Broich.
I'd like to see us with a midfield diamond with a stronger DM (Brattan?), Corona and McKay on the R and L, and Broich at 10.

Maybe start with who goes - Solo, Lustica, Steffanuto, Clut. Possibly one of Polenz/Hervas. Absolute must is a left back - Zullo or Meradith fit the frame. Defensive Midfielder - Brattan we've no chance, so that's a new visa signing. Up front we need Oar on the left wing surely, so maybe a new right wing (visa player?) Those three are where I'd see a big impact

Zullo is two injury prone and is reportedly out for the next 10/12 weeks , also looks to be more of a left winger than a left back. Meridith is on pretty good coin in Europe $400000+, would he take a massive pay cut to come home? Can't see us using a visa spot for a LB We do need a good defensive mid as Incumbents are getting on a bit .

It's going to be an even more important offeason for JA than the last one. Last pre season the club was in turmoil and a shambles and no one really knew what to expect, Mclaren, Oar and Corona have shown that he does have some recruitment nous, Hervas has left a lot to be desired thus far though. JA has given the fans a bar to measure against and the recruitment has to match the ambition. Left back, defensive mid and up front is in need of severe strengthening and has been the case for us for a few seasons now with the ageing of Stef, departure of Erik/Bratts and loss of Bes. JMAC has been absolutely on fire but no we need our midfield and attacking players to step up and support him, Borello and Dimi need to spend the off season under the wing of Aloisi who let's not forget is one of this countries finest goal scorers.
I've been out of touch with things too much this season to know what's happening with players overseas and rumours of aussies returning but there's a hell of a lot of work to be done.

His agent held talks with at least one A League club in January as he's off contract next month, if Bradford get promoted I'd guess he's prefer to play championship football but if not who knows? Edited by Waz: 29/4/2016 07:35:14 PM Yeah it is. I just think bradford would be silly to let him go easily. He has been great for them. I think he would be great in the A league but i want him to stay at bradford lol

Up front we need Oar on the left wing surely, so maybe a new right wing (visa player?) Those three are where I'd see a big impact Solo, Steff , Clut and Polanz should be gone in next couple of weeks,I would give Lustica some more time and also Hervas. There seems to be a bit of a trend with players coming back to the HAL to kickstart their career again so I'd say there's a chance Meridith will at least consider coming back. I doubt Meredith will come home. He has played most games this season for Bradford, and they are almost certain of playoffs to go up to championship. It's speculation either way isn't it. If we were to bring in a new full back,a Japanese or Korean would be good. I have rarely seen bad fullbacks from these countries in the ACL.Being fast, mobile and technically good suits their skill set .

Quote:"When it's all done, you realise how privileged you were to be in a position like this." With those simple and humble words, loyal club servant and our long-serving No.3 Shane Stefanutto today announced his retirement as a Brisbane Roar player. "I think back to all the wonderful times we have had, the premierships, the trophies . . . all the friends and the battles we had on the field, they are all special things," Stefanutto said as he hung up his boots for the last time. "It is something I will definitely miss now but have enjoyed across the whole journey. "The club has a culture – something that's really special. "It's 23 people who get an opportunity to fulfil that role. They should see that as a real privilege. "Now that I am not going to be part of that, I realise what a wonderful opportunity I had. "It's sad that I am not going to be playing any more but I am excited for those players who will be Brisbane Roar next season and years beyond. "I wish them, the club, its members, fans and sponsors all the best for the future."
