Posted this in the Hervas/Lustica release thread.
Would it be worth trying to get Brad Inman? He's a 24 year old Aussie midfielder, who can score goals. His contract is about to run out I believe and his team is about to relegated to league two (Crewe Alexandra). He has been in contention for a place in the Socceroos squads lately, and may want to come back to the A-League to increase his exposure to Ange.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? With four out we can presume we'll sign 3-4 new senior players. We've got two visa slots available I'd prioritise those - whoever they sign has got to start regularly. That will disrupt the first team make up which in turn will decide who else should be signed.

Also a couple more players we could look at:
James Holland as a DM, if his team is relegated (currently at MSV Duisburg in Bundesliga 2.)
Kwame Yeboah. Surely he wants game time after barely playing for the last two seasons.

I have rarely seen bad fullbacks from these countries in the ACL.Being fast, mobile and technically good suits their skill set . Well you got half your wish , Otoole is half Japanese who has spent the past 4 years playing his youth football in Tokyo . Played for Aus u 19s in AFC Qualifers still eligible to play for the Japs . Not sure if he is related to Caletti who is also half Japanese but think maybe mothers are sisters.

I would really like to see broich moved into the cap and get a new marquee. Although i don't think our owners are interested in forking out money so its not really worth it.

I honestly don't know what to make of the Bakries anymore; 9 months ago I'd have gladly seen them run out of town but by the end of the season they had done what they said they would do and fixed up their mess, they're not the first owners to stuff up Brisbane Roar but they are the first uwners to hang around and sort it out but will it stay that way? They could move Broich under the cap using the Archie Thompson rule but whether they will is anyone's guess ? Edited by Waz: 4/5/2016 05:18:39 PM

I am 80% sure I saw Youssouf Hersi in a blue suit walking down Roma Street on my way to work this morning.

Yeboah may want a move back home, and would certainly be challenging for first team action.

I agree - I don't dislike the marquee fund the FFA is setting up but it would also be nice if some money could be set aside to help clubs bring back some of these players as well

Arguably much more achievable and probably equally, if not more beneficial league wide.

Someone to possibly fix our CB problems is Shane Cansdell-Sheriff if he doesn't get a new contract at Burton Albion. Should be good for a 2 year deal.

How's Devere been going lately? I saw him at training and he looked good, good enough to wonder why he wasn't playing. I'm assuming Aloisi thinks he's got DeVere back next season and that Donachie is staying. It looks like north is re-signing so we're probably full at CB

Get the feeling the best chance of a boutique stadium anywhere inside Brisbane proper would be convincing one of the Universities they needed one.

Roarcliffe wrote:Get the feeling the best chance of a boutique stadium anywhere inside Brisbane proper would be convincing one of the Universities they needed one. It's a topic that's older than Brisbane Roar even the strikers had ambitions to redevelop Perry Park before the prime lease was given to the YMCA. Location is always the issue but given the transport nightmare the city can present these type of central locations are a good idea as everyone can get in by train - what astonishes me is that everyone is aware of the squeeze going on at Suncorp stadium so why would anyone develop plans that don't include a rectangular stadium? A 17,000 seater indoor stadium "replaces" two existing pieces of infrastructure, one of them only a short walk away, surely they could have both as the sites big enough? This to me just continues to demonstrate the Bakries and therefore the Roar are well on the outside of the establishment in Brisbane that gets things done!

David Pourre, CEO, has quit, but will remain part of newly formed advisory board DAVID Pourre has quit his job as Brisbane Roar chief executive, but will remain a part of the club via a newly formed advisory board. Pourre was thrust into the CEO role in an interim capacity a year ago following the departure of managing director Sean Dobson. Such was his success in helping rescuing the club from a financial crisis that had the Roar on the verge of folding, Pourre was appointed CEO in a permanent capacity in November. Despite his success in the role, Pourre will leave to pursue another employment opportunity that crosses over between business and sport. However, he will continue to have an influence at the club after being appointed to an advisory board that will support and sustain the Roar’s off-field operations. Pourre will also help Roar chairman Rahim Soekasah in the appointment of a new CEO/general manager. “Throughout the course of the year, the club’s CEO, David Pourre, set a course that has seen our club regain credibility within the community and strengthen within the eyes of the football world,” Soekasah said in a message to Roar members. “He has specifically provided clear, honest and open communication to myself and the owner about all matters relating to the club. “Specifically, he invited the leaders within the FFA to gain access to all club related matters for the purposes of transparency and restoring our credibility with the game’s governing body.” “David is an accomplished professional and … we respect and understand the reasoning for his decision (to quit), and thank him wholeheartedly for his sterling service to the Brisbane Roar as CEO. “David will be a crucial member of the advisory board and will assist me with discussions between the FFA and other A-League club chairmen. It was vital for me to ensure we keep David as part of our club because his efforts and commitment are highly valued.” Among those joining Pourre on the Roar advisory board are Robert Cavallucci and Alicia Ferguson, with the other members to soon be announced. Cavallucci is a former state LNP member for Brisbane Central and now a real estate executive, while Ferguson is a stalwart of Australian women’s football, having represented the Matildas 66 times. http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/football/brisbane-roar-chief-executive-david-pourre-quits/news-story/a2057b3edf907270aa315ec7ab621b40
