What does this have to do with the roar?

Besides the fact it was a Roar game? Not sure yet they are still gathering information it seems.

Looks like the Fish has agreed to terms with Malaysian club Negeri Sembilan FA subject to medical. Forever a club legend and will be missed.

Very sad to lose a tailsman. But he was getting old and only a bench player for the roar. The best impact sub in the league and probably one of the best players to grace the league. Not many players have scored so many key goals like ricky. If only we had some direction with ownership to see aloisi true plan.

Hopefully he gets his huge pay day and first team game time. Hopefully comes back to brisbane when he done getting his payday in asia.

It does, especially some impact goals off the bench as well. But with Lustica, Solorzano, Hervas, Doncs and now Ricky gone JA has the headroom in the cap to bring in good players to compensate. That is providing the Bakries (or the FFA?) allow him to of course

With Donc's departure I'd say that leaves us in need of a CB signing. DeVere is good but injury prone, North is good but aging, Bowles is good but inconsistent.

Bowles n Rowles could be a great CB pairing for the future.

They could. Just not next season - if DeVere and North are our first pick CBs it's questionable if either can survive a full season. North has the fitness but he's due an injury. Read elsewhere Roar were talking to Thwaits against again

Would like to see Thwaite back in the league. Would be sad to see him out of purple but still good to have him around. Thwaite and Devere would be a pretty good CB pairing.

Agreed. There's talk of both Thwait and Paartalu making their way back home this winter - Thwaite would be a better fit but even Paartalu would bolster a suspect defence for roar.

Would like Paartalu or a Paartalu-esque player for the roar. We really need an actual defensive midfielder.

I agree, I ghink DM is our priority signing this winter.

Paartalu might be a squad player,but is too slow on the ball to beat pressing defences if we are playing out from the back.

The league has past paartalu by. By the 2nd season with roar he was starting to look very one dimensional.

Nobody really knows. Fans were promised an update on Friday (which we got in a members mail) which really said nothing; the new guy Daniel Cobb sent it out as MD and as MD he's meant to be leading a consortium of "Melbourne and international based businessmen" who wish to remain anonymous until the deals done. But how and when all this happens is a mystery

I wouldn't have him or Thwaite.

Thwaite would work well in any HAL squad but I dont think he's being released this side of Christmas so dont hold your breath anyway

North hasn't been subjected to injury yet so why pre-empt it? Why couldn't Thwaite be subjected to the same thing?

Devere and North are reasonably experienced. If another CB is required as back up why would you choose yet another player like Thwaite who's years are virtually past him and not look for a young gun? Bowles is still more than adequate as a back-up and no worse than Donachie. If Roar can find someone better then all good too. But no granpa's please.

I always think CBs are like goalkeepers - best in their early 30s. I'd be happy with Thwaite as he can also play DM very well.

Agreed. The balance we were missing last season was in the 25-30 group, we had plenty 25 and under (6 in the starting line up v Wanderers) and plenty 30 and over so hopefully the key signings will be in the 25-30 age group.

Why not? Mackay, Corona and Broich are all gone this time next year so why not have some experience is the squad. Anyone in the 30-32 range has got at least two years in them which is as long a contract as players get lately
