Wonder how many NSWPL players will be signed up for the new A-League team and how the FFA and FNSW deal with it, they would more than likely have to leave within 2-3 months for pre-season training. Sure it won't affect every club and there might only be 4-5 players from the squad that played in the NSWPL, could damage some teams if they lose their top players.

Hi all, new here.
I'm a Sydney Olympic supporter from way back.
Very excited for the derby on Monday at Edensor Park, my prediction is a 2-1 win to us with goals to Hadid and Joel Woods

Quote:EASTER MONDAY- GRAND FINAL REMATCH posted by on April 5, 2012 Round 2 of the NSW Premier League will be one that is not to be missed as the battle continues between two rival heavyweight clubs, Sydney Olympic FC and Sydney United 58 FC on Easter Monday 9th April 2012. Sydney United 58 FC will host the Grand Final rematch at the Sydney United Sports Centre, Edensor Park and will be seeking retribution against the reigning 2011 NSW Premier League Champions, Sydney Olympic FC, who severed their 2011 Grand Final hopes and dreams. Sydney Olympic FC will enter the Grand Final rematch in positive spirits after they celebrated a 1 nil victory against the Rockdale City Suns in Round 1 of the competition. Olympic dominated their opposition throughout the match as several players, including 'new recruits' Kutaiba Elrich and Aman Hadid caused endless trouble for the travelling side. Towering defender, Manny Giannaros proved to be a handful for Rockdale's defence as the right back dominated the right flank to provide the assist for Brett Studman who headed the ball into the back of the net. The 'Blues' will most likely retain last weekend's starting line up but will be without the 2011 Robbie Slater Medal recipient Peter Triantis who will miss the fixure due to suspension, with Triantis' replacement yet to be decided upon. Sydney United FC also obtained three points last weekend after they defeated Parramatta FC 1 nil in their Season Opener, courtesy of Ante Tomic who scored a spectacular 35 yard goal. Steve Hayes and Luka Glavas will be one's to watch for the home side and will need to handled and marked accordingly by Olympics' solid defensive line. For the reigning NSW Premier League Champions, new additions Kutaiba Elrich and Aman Hadid will be called upon to execute Olympics' chances, whilst the battle in the midfield is set to be of high intensity. Sydney Olympic FC captain and veteran, Phil Makrys had a strong game last weekend and will need to emulate his performance in this Monday's clash and lead his side from the middle of the park. The epic Easter Monday clash is a must see, as the battle for NSW Premier League supremacy continues. Previous Meetings 03.10.2011 Sydney Olympic 2-0 Sydney United 18.09.2011 Sydney Olympic 2-0 Sydney United 07.08.2011 Sydney Olympic 2-4 Sydney United 15.05.2011 Sydney United 2-3 Sydney Olympic 23.05.2010 Sydney United 1-1 Sydney Olympic 06.03.2010 Sydney Olympic 0-1 Sydney United 26.07.2009 Sydney Olympic 1-1 Sydney United 03.05.2009 Sydney United 1-2 Sydney Olympic Where will you be this Easter Monday? http://www.sydneyolympicfc.com/news/2012/04/05/easter-monday--grand-final-rematch/

Doesn't stop the fact that Moriyasu is not A-League quality material. If you've ever seen him with a sky blue shirt on. He'd be fine if he were a local player, be fine for squad depth, but when you're only allowed 4 (they're reducing it for next year) foreigners in the A-League, you'd want all 4 to be starting players and good. Moriyasu doesn't fit the bill, he's fine at NSW Premier League but he's not A-League material.

Last time I checked shit coaches who can't motivate players don't win a double on their first season in a new country or win numerous trophies and be named coach of the year in their country of origin. so he is the reason they won a double????...your fucken kidding......have a good look at the player listing and who was retiring...SYDFC has been run by the players for 3 seasons now because the caoches are so shit........ when they won the double lavicka didnt recruite a player....LOL they were just about all signed........ so when he did have an influence in player selection it all goes down hill....have you ever dealt with him???? met him??? played under him??? had a player coached by him?????

The only thing better than Marconi giving away a 95th minute penalty is Nick Rizzo missing that penalty

In: - Karol Kisel - Sebastian Ryall - Stephan Keller - Byun Sung-Hwan. He got rid of players he knew were not going to be of any use, and brought in further experience in the defence and midfield to aid Aloisi, and Corica and the rest. He also kept the squad in line and their minds focused during what was arguably an extremely difficult time for the club off the field regarding the Sebastian Ryall case. His knowledge and tactics were perfect for an experienced team like we had in 09/10. He's admitted publicly that he dropped the ball in the second season, underestimated the effect of the big players retiring, and not doing enough to retain certain key players as well as replace them. He's publicly held his hand up and taken responsibility for that. He transformed our club professionally on and off the field. Vitja did a lot more for this club then all our other coaches combined.
