A family friend is very senior in our local football association.
Football NSW have asked them to start getting ready to field their own NSWPL team in 2013.
All behind the traditional clubs backs of course.

All behind the traditional clubs backs of course. apparently this has been the talks for years now but nothing eventuated... we will see what happens. thing is the FFA want to run and control everything from top to bottom. it will be a massive failure. Meh FFA have more important things to worry about at the moment like Newcastle Jets, new WS team, etc... the HAL is a farce.

I know it has been on the cards for year, however this year it's different.
The independent review conducted by FNSW and FFA is due to be finalised soon.
The FFA are near broke and want to control all the cash coming into football in Oz.
Big changes will be implemented. It ain't a joke, and I suggest you make enquiries with your club. It is now panic stations for all of them.

All behind the traditional clubs backs of course. mate, thats been on the table for years but the reality of it all is that that model is not sustainable and secondly, it will result in our junior players rego's being used to effectively pay for PL players. wheres the good in that? its a part of the review being conducted by FNSW together with another 100 other proposals. cant see it happening to be honest. great league you'll have with the spartans, parramatta, manly, sutho and the wolves propped up by who? like it or not, the non assoc based clubs are the heart and soul of state football. simple as that. to exclude them would be a tragedy. speaking of tragedies, our loss to blacktown yesterday. to come back from 2-0 down to be leading with 15 to go, only to surrender the lead after two defensive blunders was very disappointing. i thought we played some great football and i still dont know how we lost. anyway, not a good start thats for sure. bring on the wolves! for the utd boys on here, tommy cirjak for me was great!

Kolner I am very much against the new proposal, and also a proud APIA man.
I just know that this season there is more substance than in the past, and FNSW mean business.
Anyway, the league has throw up many surprise results already.
Other than the consistently poor Parramatta FC, I think it is a pretty even league.

That means curtains to my team APIA, as well as United, Olympic, Marconi, Bonyrigg and Demons.

http://www.thefootballsack.com/2012/04/sydney-united-find-revenge-with-2-1-win.htmlIt was a great game to attend, met with Bozza and Kalac was there also. Good football and can certainly see some players easily slotting into an A-League squad.

if the past we have seen penrith poanthers having to merge with nepean, recently parramatta melita were purchased by GDSFA, and i would suggest alot of these teams will be forced to merge with an association or perish......didn't the canterbury berries merge with someone as well?????

Batfink, what's the story with Parra FC?
Were Spartans that good, or Parra just that bad.
I watched the Spartans play Marconi the week before and thought they would be lucky to get a point all season.

I watched the Spartans play Marconi the week before and thought they would be lucky to get a point all season. no parra were all over the shop......the squad has only just been finalised, Nash the keeper came from Newcastle jets and had a howler of a game, threw one ball into the back of the net, was quite funny actually....even if it does hurt....if you check out the pic on NSWPL under 20's review thats nash just after he did it..... parra started the game off very well and looked impressive, missed quite a few chances, say 4 or 5 the young bloke from central coast Kwabena or what ever it is looked sharp for the first 20-30 minutes then was no where to be seen, against the run of play just before half time spartans scored the heads dropped and confidence fell.....the other two goals were basic errors by parra, nash and then a defensive mix up at the back.....there are 5 new signings who have been there for say 3 weeks i'd guess and they only played maybe 3 trial games since christmas.....i am worried that sterry is just blasting the shit out of them and not building confidence.....i think spartans will be hard to break down at home due to the new surface and playing on it far more than any other teams, my son says its a bit different that sutherlands pitch......anyway if you look at some of the results from the first 2 rounds i think the limited pre season due to rain has some clubs still scrambling to gell and find consistency........ best of luck with the season....!!!! :)

Great goal, terrible camera angle. Would have thought they would have shot it from the little pavilion at Lambert. No highlights for week 2? Or are the coming later. Me disappoint. How on earth am I going to make my highlights package at the end of the season.

SydCro bang on the money. Last week was all about the long-range crackers, this week the free kick maestro's. Shame the Camera angle isn't clearer for Marconi's screamer. A few howler's by some of the goalkeepers, too. Matthew Nash . Rockdale-Blacktown game didn't have too much flash keeping either by the looks of things. Have Rockdale changed their home ground? Edited by Heineken: 12/4/2012 10:42:18 PM
