As I have said to afro numerous times (I'm pretty sure it's into double figures now), Spurs are in 4 competitions. UEFA Cup, Carling and FA Cups as well as the Premier League means that you need depth in positions. While one of them may not be happy as a benchwarmer, we play so many games there isn't really such thing. Our starting XI changes so frequently out of necessity that both get ample game time at the moment, and this will continue if we bring Downing in.
