Sure am. It is a very egotistical clause to have.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Sunderland transfer watch...
Daryl Murphy to Hull for 1.5 mill
Nyron Nosworthy and Dean Whitehead to Stoke for 6.0m (buy one - we throw the other, and taxi fair, in for free)

Neither locked down but both likely in the next week or two.

Roy Keane pissed off because he wanted Murphy and Whitehead at Ipswich.

Exactly. If ever a player was set to be locked away in the reserves for 2 years until his contract ran out, it was Daryl. The lad has had so many chances to show his stuff but continuously bottles the big moments.

Agree about the lack of wingers - but if our defense and midfield did it's job, Steeeeeeeed, Carlos and Andy RUN FATBOY RUN Reid can all deliver well. It's the lack of chances for them to do it that hurts us. Dean Whitehead started 30 EPL games last season, Leadbitter started 12, that pretty much shows how bad our midfield was.

Should have gone for Karim Ziani before Wolfsburg snared him. That guy has had a meteoric rise. Three years ago he was playing for Lorient in French League Two. Big fan of the way he plays his football too. Someone like Etienne Didot, Sanli Tuncay (), Edgar Barreto or even Jonathan De Guzman would be a brilliant asset for Sunderland to have. Unfortunately only Barreto is likely to come cheap out of those four.

Of those mentioned, Ive only seen Tuncay and De Guzman play. De guzman is meh. Alright for a Bolton or Blackburn, but nothing higher. Tuncay looks to be brilliant. Shame he had no one else helping him out at Boro. He'd be a massive get for Sunderland.

I dont' think Sunderland fans would take too kindly to him though. I like De Guzman, and you've got to remember he's only 20.
Though, if I were in charge at Sunderland I'd probably be chasing Barreto first (5mil, tops), Tuncay (I have no idea, can't be more than 10mil) and Crouch and that's enough to have the side moving up the table this season. Although, no Cisse this year may not be entirely beneficial.

Just had a call to say that the Crouch deal is done. Highest paid player in the clubs history - claims that the main reason he's coming is that he wants to play every week prior to the world cup. Not the biggest Crouch fan in the world, but it's the first time I can ever recall us signing a current England international, so I'll take it!

EDIT - Correction - just got another call to say Crouchy has got cold feet on signing the contract because his agent has an identical offer from Fulham - who will also offer Crouch guaranteed first team football all season. Looks like it's going to be a nail-biting night for me!

We'd take Tuncay like a shot - however, he's not the position we need to sort. It's the more defensive midfielder we've had problems with. Teemu Tainio is alright but he's always injured, Whitehead and Leadbitter run their guts out but haven't the quality, Dwight Yorke was too old last season and he's gone now (still shocked he hasn't arrived down here yet).

Cisse going is no big loss. He pretty much stopped playing once we sold his mates in January. Thanks for the goals and the first half of the season, but no thanks to anymore of your standing still glaring at the linesman every time you're caught a mile off-side.
