Public opinion on Rudd is very different from party opinion.

If the ALP were smart (they're evidently not), they would have looked past his abrasive way of running things for the good of the party.

If Rudd put gay marriage on the agenda as an election promise, I'd vote for him. I'd vote for him already...but that's not the point.

So the economy can go in the toilet but as long as we allow gay marriage everything will be OK?

After election, Gillard will step down, Rudd will challenge, Steven Smith too if he still has a seat, and probably a raft of others.

I'm not entirely sure she will even retain her own seat.

She's been incumbent for 15 years, in a seat which has been a labour stronghold since 1969 with a 41% margin. Saying she won't retain her seat is absurd.

i know quite a few gay couples and only 1 couple rant about gay marriage the others could not give a shit.............

good question....does not bother me one way or the other.....i am neither for it nor against it.......

does it warrant the cost of running a referendum?????are there more important questions to be asked???

IMHO i think everytime we go to the polls there should be a referendum with 6-10 questions so the people can get the message across to the tards who think THEY run the country....

I'm in general agreeance with Thupercoach. Any kind of vote by the majority on the rights of minorities is a bad idea.

The idea of a "conscious vote" on something like the rights of homosexuals to marry is equally absurd.

What rights of the straight majority are being impacted by allowing homosexuals to marry?
