To be fair, that one was in response to the same cartoonist that did the Abbott one doing a cartoon of a dingo Howard mounting a dingo Downer. After Australia (including Rudd) expressed their displeasure they were told that they should be able totake a joke and that there was "no offense intended". Personally, I think it's childish and unnecessary, but is fuelled on by the reactions they garner. People should be able to take a joke, but at the same time they should also be able to read a newspaper without seeing a cartoon of themselves walking on the front page. It's interesting to see how "offended" some Australians are by this cartoon, but were absolutely fine with insinuating that Gillard was a lesbian, a home wrecker and a bitch.

Right. It's kinda disrespectful. The guy's the leader of his country. The kind of people who think parodying his name constantly over and over is still funny are the kind of people who still laugh out loud at Simpsons Episodes from 1994. I've said it once or twice, and so has Finky. Anyway, so is burning a flag 'kinda disrespectful'? Burning a flag is hugely disrespectful. Hell, I even hate people who wear it as a cape or other item of clothing. But Australians can't really get on their soap box about Indonesians being 'disrespectful' when they constantly parody the guys name in such an infantile manner. As MvFCArsenal said, it's called decorum. lol......you of all people come the raw prawn on respect and decorum!!!!!!!  :-" :-" :-"

However, burning our national flag is abhorrent, far worse than anything that I have said in this thread. But lets bow down to our Indonesian overlords, as they can do no wrong. ;) remember Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is a very respectable PM, when he feels aggrieved with Australia he get's on twitter to voice his concern, he doesn't pick up the phone to have a chat with the Australian PM...all class

I know this may not get a good hearing on here from the conservatives, but I am not at all surpirsed with the Neilson poll this morning. http://www.news.com.au/national/coalitions-shock-as-labor-pulls-ahead-in-nielson-poll/story-fncynjr2-1226767573354There is nothing of substance coming from the LNP. If they keep this charade up, it'll be a one term government.

In proof that an Australian government can occasionally get something right PM Tony Abbott has changed Australia position on Israeli settlements. They have turned away from the disgraceful position of the former Labor government which condemned the settlements and have withdrawn their support for an order to stop all Israeli settlements. http://www.smh.com.au/national/tony-abbott-quietly-shifts-un-position-to-support-israeli-settlements-upsetting-palestinians-20131124-2y434.html

Embarrassing position for Australia to take as an elected member of the Security Council. UN Resolution 446 on their illegal settlements has been defied by Israel for 34 years. History will judge us poorly. For shame.

Good job, Australia.
