If you're going to change the rules which govern the ABC then you must change the rules which govern ALL mass media.

I think The Greens put forward a very sensible alternative deal that broke the impasse created by idiocy from both major parties. I'm very happy that the deal was made. I'm also going to hold Abbott every bit accountable for being a slimy fucking cretin of hypocrisy, the same way he did to Gillard for an arguably lesser deviation.

If the LNP can ignore a petition with 270,000 signatures to save FTTH, it would be pretty funny if they cited a petition with 660 signatures to destroy an already impartial ABC. Edited by notorganic: 5/12/2013 03:11:27 PM

Everything about the ABC indicates that they are not partial to either side of politics as a whole.

"There will not be deals done with Independents and minor parties under any political movement that I lead" Context, it was in the clip! That was in relation to what might happen if neither party gained a clear majority in the lower house and another minority government was required; which was never going to happen. This commitment is not applicable to anything since a majority government was elected.

Batfink, you are without a doubt the single biggest wanker on this forum. And to take that title off people like Davis_Patik is a spectacular achievement.

SCOTT MORRISON: Yes, that's right. That was one of the features of temporary protection visas, because hopefully, and this is often the case, people are not refugees indefinitely.
LEIGH SALES: But is that a humane situation, where you have people who are absolutely legitimate refugees, but they can't make any sort of permanent new life for themself because at any time you could say, "Well, sorry, you're going home now."
SCOTT MORRISON: Well, the convention doesn't provide for permanent residency, Leigh. And the convention requires safe haven ...
LEIGH SALES: I'm just asking about what's humane though.
SCOTT MORRISON: Well what we're doing is completely consistent with our obligations under the Refugee Convention and that's what we're obliged to do. Yeah, he really showed her.

They sound like the same point being made twice to me. Basically that clip just says he wont negotiate to lead a minority government. So say they are separate statements is to suggest that he promised to only form government if he won both houses, because otherwise he will have to make deals with the crossbenches in the Senate. Agree about Gillard too, honing in on one statement rather than the entirety of the policy she put to the people (where she was in favouring of putting a price on carbon) was wrong of the media.
