Can you show proof where the Abbott government is cutting funding to the ABC?
Unless you can show proof I'll have to assume the SMH is telling lies.

SMH isn't lying, they wouldn't be able to get away with that. they're just spinning it and introducing supposition.

But the Prime Minister and his colleagues on the expenditure review committee – the powerful cabinet group responsible for finding billions of dollars worth of budget savings – are considering a number of proposals for trimming the ABC’s budget. All proposals involve cuts to the ABC and conversations are now being had about how deep to cut and what cuts are politically feasible.

Don't lecture me on comprehension.

they're considering a number of proposals according to SMH, doesn't mean they'll do any of them

I'm not the one demanding incontrovertible proof, you are. You can't demand one standard for the government and another for fairfax. If you say the government needs to produce proof that the boats have stopped, then you need to demand that fairfax shows proof that the government is cutting funding to the ABC, rather than excitedly jumping to conclusions that the government has broken it's promises. Otherwise, according to your own warped set of principles, it's all lies right?

Yes, because the organisation charged with saving money isn't going to do its job. The article states that they are considering a number of proposed courses of action to cut budget spending, all of which involve ABC funding being cut.

I provided a counter argument and destroyed your position of which you have no comeback but more personal attacks.

You've just lied again by claiming I accuse everyone of lying when anyone paying ounce of attention knows that's patently false.

An newspaper article doesn't constitute evidence, do you have any actual evidence the government is going make cuts to the ABC? Otherwise it's all lies right? You can't pick and choose the bits of news that are congruent with your personal beliefs as fact while rejecting those that aren't as lies. That's a double standard.

Remember the manic reaction from the press when unemployment exceeded 6%? Well it's now back at 5.8% but hardly a murmur from the faixfax/ABC press. If there's one thing the left crowd is bad at it's projections. Always projecting what the future will hold and getting them dreadfully wrong. Like when they projected Howard wouldn't last a term and he become our second longest serving PM. Like when they projected the earth would submerge as a result of sea levels rising due to global warming, it didn't happen. Like their ridiculous fiscal projections, surplus promises, unemployment levels, NBN, always getting things wrong, stuffing things up, risking our credit position and financial stability to satisfy their nostradumus esque projections. Like when Ludlam projected Abbott wouldn't last a term, you can almost guarantee he got that totally wrong as well. You just can't trust the left and their manic shotgun projections, as they are almost always missing the mark. Yet the more they miss and the more loopy their projections, the more rabid and vociferous in their projections they become.

They failed to give both sides of the politics fair treatment. This was admitted on media watch following their tech columnist Nick Ross who wrote an extensive (albeit naive, flawed, amateurish and juvenile) article promoting the virtues of Labors policy while attacking the Coalitions. It's not for the ABC to take political sides but to inform the public and let them decide, rather than telling people how they should think. The problem is the tech crowd is very conceited when it comes to technology matters which is fine because they are experts in this field, but they are also very conceited when it comes to issues of economics and fiscal policy, but here they have no expertise and absolutely no sense and they are basically misleading the taxpayer with all their rabid pro fibre anti Coalition propaganda.

Hey, I just posted the article. Seems to me like you're shooting the messenger because the article is not "congruent with your personal beliefs".

It's been mooted for a while now that Abbott would cut the ABC's budget. It's no secret that he disapproves of their journalism and we all remember that the ABC's budget was cut by Howard as well.
rusty wrote:

But if unemployment has decreased under the current program then that would mean that the Liberal Party's proposed changes to welfare would be unnecessary wouldn't it? Or perhaps it just means that at least some of the employees of Qantas, Holden and Toyota who have lost their jobs after Abbott foolishly dared the companies to move operations off shore have found gainful employment again.

How is it that every time someone agrees with me I've 'called up idiot mates'? It doesn't surprise me one iota that it hasn't occurred to you even remotely that as the constantly dissenting opinion you might just be in the wrong.

I'm not sure if you're being intentionally stupid under the guise of "trolling" - in which case you're a shit troll. "Dur, I acted like a moron in the internet and now these guys are pissed off at me. Ha. Ha. Ha." - 'trolling' is when you use someone's own logic and circular reasoning to bring them around to an opinion they logically disagree with, not acting like a moron for the sake of it.

Alternatively I consider that you're just genuinely this thick and have no concept of the way the reality works and are so convinced of your own infallibility that you genuinely believe you know more than the quoted experts you consistently disagree with.

Has anyone else noticed that ricecrackers and batfink are essentially interchangeable as posters? They're both right-wing loons, both are condescending, dimwitted, infallible and full of their own self-rightiousness, have shit grammar and syntax (although ricecrackers is missing the excessive amount of full stops), and both use feeble and tawdry insults.

They're not cutting it, they're putting the threshold up by three years. It's understandable, the amount of social welfare we spend is unsustainable. We're driving ourselves into a recession.

Actually abott is going to cut it . He is breaking a promise . Maybe just maybe try not giving a very generous parental leave program . Also don't increase politicians pay so the budget doesn't blow .
