We don't currently have access to 25mbps in my business partner and my part of Melbourne, I get 5mbps at best with adsl2, I don't want to guess how old the copper phone lines are in our neighborhood, could be more than 50 years, and our Australian low density suburb design has the exchange very far from our houses, so fibre to the node is the only way for improvement.

We run a video production company. At the moment people can easily send video and audio material online to competitors in other countries for post production which are many gigabytes and often terrabytes for small projects like 30 second ads alone, and that's with standard 1080p, forget about 4k, which is what we often shoot with to compete with world's best standards.

Us working with adsl2 compared to our international competitor's fibre is like a transport company using donkeys on dirt mountain tracks competing with one with trucks on an 8 lane highway with no traffic.
